I've just started this myself and came to see if anyone else was doing it! I'm using the phone app, luckily I can hear the voice cues from my pocket as the first time I held it and kept pausing it by accident - very annoying! Now I've got it running under the lock screen - much better.

I'm not going to do it on fast days - I'm planning Mon, Thur fast as normal, and then running on Fri, Sun and either Tues or Weds.

I haven't done any running before as I have bad knees - cartilage loss and general pain. But I've got some good shoes and run on the grass where possible. So far so good, just expected stiffness.

Hi Carol,

Welcome! I use a spibelt and can hear my phone from there. I use a different device for listening to music. I just finished week 3 and am starting week 4 on Thurs. I usually do it on Sat and/or Sun. Tues and Thurs. I've actually done it on fast days and had no problem!

Good luck! It's a great program!

I did week 4 today and it was tough. 3 minutes, then just 90 seconds before getting thrown into 5! I didn't make it through the whole first 5 and the 2nd one I had to pause it and walk for a bit and then finish it. But, it was also a fast day for me and I did not drink enough at all. So, I know when I do Week 4 Day 2 on Thursday, I'll get through it!

Does anyone have the couch to 5K plan in a form that doesn't require a phone app? Just curious; would like to see exactly what the plan entails.

TIA

I think if you google it you will find the weekly plans pretty easily. The phone app is just really convenient because it tells you when to run and when to walk. You could do it with a watch as well - just have to concentrate a bit harder.

yes there it is: http://www.c25k.com/

@ADFnFuel - here is the outline of it.

I first did it with a watch that had a lot of timers I could set. It was a bit of a pain updating them each week, but still completely doable. I love having the app this time around though. And it is free!

I should have been repeating week 6 this week after last week's failures but I just couldn't motivate myself. Bach to the gym on Monday to gave another go, or maybe I'll do week 5 again to get me into it.

@ADFnFuelI used the NHS version and the website has a breakdown of what is involved in each section. They also have C25k plus podcasts. I'm currently signed up for the NHS C25k 5x50 virtual team. We've just completed Jantastic as a team which involved running for a certain number of times per week, a distance run and a timed run. 5x50 is 5k or 30 mins exercise every day for 50 days. Good luck to all of you currently completing C25k, I did it last year. My third parkrun tomorrow.

Good luck cblasz! I did week 5 a couple of weeks ago, then messed up week 6 and didn't even try for over a week. I went to the gym yesterday and did two 8 minute runs! I'm in Switzerland next week so no running but the week after I'm definitely doing week 6!

Thanks Rachael. I did week 5 day 1 today. It was tough. I'm worried about doing 8 minutes on Saturday, but I'll give it my best shot. I am signed up for a 5K on 4/26, so I need to get a lot of sessions in before then! I'm off from work next week though, so I'll have a lot of time!
