I'm in today. I'm suffering with a wee bit of sinus pain so thinking it maybe slightly more difficult than normal, but coffee and water will see me through no doubt. Have a good one y'all!
Thanks Moogie, that's great adivce! I'm not finding it too hard at the moment as I am drinking a lot of water, so I might even leave the banana and have the 500 calories all at once.
We are ! We are !! Since my OH had a slight gain and I stayed the same last week, we decided to shake things up a bit and do a 4:3 this week. We have done this before and it has worked well and then back to 5:2 next week. Good luck everybody
I'm in today.
I am down to 11 5 (and 3/4s!) this morning; our busy busy weekend at the food festival was punctuated with delicious ice creams and delicious morsels of local produce.
We'd booked a table at our local for last night - usually plain, but good value. We started with a sliver of pate, which came with horrible white bread, but I was starving and tired, so ate it. I'd ordered steak for mains, double salad, no chips. It was so tough I sent it back. The waitress was rude and said, you'll have to wait,' to which I replied, 'I'll just have a burger instead, salad, no chips.'
Yes I did wait, while hub devoured his double cheeseburger and chips. Eventually, my burger appeared, so, after removing the dry burger bun, I ate a sad, thin, mean burger with some limp lettuce.
It's the last time we'll go there, despite being able to walk to it.
Perhaps little wonder I've lost weight!

I'm starving today, but planning a tasty veggie curry for tea.

I am going to a food conference tomorrow - with lunch, so I'm certainly not fasting tomorrow instead!
Ok guys I'm in today but already I'm not feeling it. I ate a chinese takeaway last night and usually that would mean I'm not hungry til dinner but already I feel tired and kind of shaky. I've just made a huge pot of mushroom soup with mushrooms, coconut oil and stock. I've had a cup of that (around 30cals) and then I'm making a chicken and veg curry for dinner. But I'm losing carbs after my last couple of weeks of sugar spikes and clearly I'm struggling with ketosis. I'm also having a bad day trying to work from home and remote access issues and 2 puppies who are insisting and licking their neutering wounds
I'm in, dinner is ready and smelling great. I think the effects from a crazy weekend last week are showing through so I need to be especially careful this week so I see a good loss on Friday!
I am in! Drinking my morning coffee right now and then water until dinner. I don't know what will be for dinner, I didn't go grocery shopping so there is no much in the refrigerator. I have a few frozen crustless quiches so I may have one and some beans and fruit.
I just had my 5th black coffee of the day. It needs to go or I won't sleep tonight
The soup is almost ready for tonight and it smell really good? Only 3 hours before dinner
As I've said before, today is my first ever fast day. Was feeling great about it all this morning but now I am tired and water is starting to make me heave a bit. Weird! Should I eat my 500 calories now rather than leave it any later?
Lauw0203 - I feel your pain. Sometimes I get terrible nausea when hungry. What works for me is going for a stroll and taking deep breaths of fresh air! This usually is enough to suppress my appetite too for a couple of hours.

Everyone is different though, I like to eat my calories as late as possible to help me sleep but you might not have a problem with that.

Good luck with whatever you decide, remember it's 4pm and you have done brillantly so far. The first fast is the hardest xxx
Yes know the feeling - not good at doing fast days and holding out until 5 pm sometimes I find hard. But hey ho it works and feeling better than I have done in years-except today have a cold!! :curse:

When I feel like this, a cup of bouillon seems to sort me out. Hope you feel better soon.
Fast day going well so far, just coffee and water while at work, did supermarket shop and had a cup-a-soup 59Cal after putting shopping away. Planning fish and veg for tea.

My head is feeling a little fuzzy and definitely felt a bit light-headed a couple of times at work, just need to keep up the fluids I think. Lots of colleagues at work are doing 5:2 too so nice to find some supporters there.

Got some books I need to read later so hopefully that will keep me occupied this evening.
It's interesting to hear about everyone else's strategies!

I started the day at the gym and that always seems to help me get through the morning on just sparkling water & tea. Ate a 'spartan salad' at 2.30pm. Now sipping a diet coke and looking forward to soup at 6-ish.

Only slight hazard is I'm meeting a friend for a drink this evening, will I give in and have a glass of wine???? Oyoyoy  But whatever happens, DEFO no crisps!!!
PS secondalto - are we sisters? I'm a second alto too!
