@carorees yep have diving daughter and non diving daughter here and we're having a ball- thanks  :victory:
@wildmissusso hoping that your health improves and you feel better soon. It is awful when you feel so lethargic and yugh. Worse so, when this WOE has health benefits!
@Debs think you're right about highlighting the health benefits especially for newbies.
We all seem to be focusing on the weight decreasing (or not) :curse: :geek:
Have we hit fatigue because of the length of time? I'm well into 15 months. While I'm not fed up with it, or finding the fasts a bother (more just what I do) without any real results that I can see, I think I'm getting just finding it a wee bit tiresome.
That's one of the reasons I thought to do 16:8 while I have the lasses here. I am missing fasting though and finding it difficult to be flexible.
Maybe I need a complete break while they're here and come back to it 'refreshed' or maybe I need to 'just do 5:2'.
Really not sure and not really worried or fretting either. Just thinking out loud.. :geek:
Yes, interesting isn't it? Just do 5:2 if you feel the need, I am sure that you can fit in a fast meal in the evening with them? Do they know you fast as a general rule? If so I am sure they would understand.
I am not struggling with it and doing a bit of ADF has probably ingrained the 5:2 more which is good, I just wish I could see the results as I am not quite where I want to be currently.
Good to have a sounding board isn't it?!
Sorry @wildmissus We've lost internet connection
for 12 hours   Major Withdrawals.

My New Plan I decided last night before this mornings scale tale I will be doing all 18:6 days plus a back to basics 5:2 only just for a few weeks because as I've struggled for about 8 weeks I'm going to concentrate on just 2 fasts and try to get them right I fear my guesstimating may be the truthful reason and I've got away with that for sometime.
But my refeeding session didn't result in any damage which is very surprising in fact I've lost 950 grams!!!
As you can imagine I'm really pleased and I just hope this doesn't go back up as in previous weeks so i will have my normal almost anything goes weekend then two fastdays
in the week
I know I'm sounding like a stuck record.......but

I've gone back to 5.2 the past 2 weeks and I'm pleased with what I've seen. No yo-yo seen on the daily weigh in. And the best result has been a loss, then maintenance trend again like before Xmas when I was losing the 1lb a week.

I'm doing this as you guys who did phenomenally well in the early 5.2 or nothing days showed me that simplicity works. Maybe when I get within touching distance of my goal weight I may have to mix it up, low carb it even. But till then I'm sticking with 5.2. With the added bonus of not wanting breakfast.
Sticking to an 18:6 window during January, and on into February, has given me a weight loss of just slightly more than 2k which is about double what I was doing in December....however, that WAS the run up to Christmas and I wasn't as strict with myself then. I am getting close to my ultimate target now and wondering if things will get slower....time will tell I guess.
I think it has to slow down unless your target is quite high or you're really cutting calories a lot!

Had another 18.5 hour fast today, lightish lunch and had a single glass of red tonight before dinner and am feeling as nissed as a pewt! hic!
I'm having my 2nd weekend of eating more.

I really don't like brekkie is my first revelation. Had porridge with apple & banana, cream and chia seeds. Felt very full, lunch was oatcakes with avocado and cottage cheese.

2nd rev, I'm obv now a proper health nut as I have discovered I like cottage cheese.

Tea is going to be beef casserole and some tatties. I'm back to weights and Crossfit tomorrow after a couple of weeks being ill so we'll see.

In the week, I eat 16:8 ish. I don't add extra meals and on days I train, the first meal is very late in the day and is pretty clean nowadays. The above is a bit of an experimentation with cycling calories more than I have been doing since changing from 4:3 in Nov. and eating more carbs at the weekends.
So far 16:8 is working well for me. I lost another kilo this week. I am not super strict about it - I did the 16:8 5/7 days, and on those days stuck to around 1200-1300 calories. Then on my 'day off' I had about 3000 (ok lost the plot a bit, going to be more mindful this week), and then 2000 on my other non-fasting day. I haven't been really strict about food like I was in the past, so I'm chuffed that I have managed to lose weight and still have the occasional treat/meal out.
I think some "wey hey" time is important. BruceE and I took time off for most of the month of December. We tried to be mindful in our eating, but there was no restriction, no counting calories, and nothing was off limits. We tried to eat a lot of veggies, but it wasn't always possible with holiday parties etc.

But on the bright side, we came back to intermittent fasting with renewed vigor and any weight we gained in December disappeared immediately.

We're now incorporating "wey hey" weekends and it feels great. I have about 300 calories left in my TDEE and there's a gorgeous French style yogurt in my fridge calling my name. Tomorrow we fast until 6pm :-)
Shhhh, managed 16:8 for two days. Tis could be the third, don't want to jinx it.
I probably shouldn't post here as I don't think I can do without a large capucinno five days a week and thus it wouldn't be a proper 16:8? On my fast day I have a small capucinno and black coffee during the rest of the day but the large milky coffee is my post fast/post workout treat. I am mindful what I eat during the week - lower carbs, hardly any biscuits, muffins or muesli bars, but wine, nuts, dark chocolate and cheese five days a week. The weekends are healthier than they were six months ago but they would be above my TDEE (estimated, as I don't count). I was thinking of doing 6:1 but I often do 5:2 anyway as I am hooked on the lower BMI. I have to come to grips with that.

@janeg did you manage the third day?
I did carrie!
Not today, had breakfast and then nothing until dinner. Divine Indian meal and stuffed, so aiming for another 16:8 tomorrow. Didn't exercise today, as i had managed 6 days in a row, and am allowed the seventh off.
So, getting there.
Have a good birthday.
Possible health benefits: I have had the signs and symptoms of a cold now for a week. The sore throat, the itchy nose, the sneezes, a cotton wool head even a bit of coughing. But so very mild I do wonder if it was a cold or not.

 very very funny. I'm such a light weight these days too, even gone to drinking out of a teeny weeny glass.
