Fasting today here in SWFrance - tea/coffee/water until dinner tonight (my version of the Hairy Dieters' Crispy Chicken). Will do 1hr of Yogalates later, and walk the dog as usual.
@SianS I've recently discovered that lettuce leaves make the most amazing wraps. Iceberg and butter lettuces both work well, just keep them as whole as you can, put in your filling and roll up. We do it with taco mince or chicken, and you get the same mix of tastes as using tortillas/tacos. Would work well with a not very liquidy chilli, and you could add other filling bits too (tomato, capsicum etc)
Sian's have you tried cauliflower rice, grate it and steam, low cal and feels like rice..
Fast day #15 here in the US. I have found that eating breakfast and lunch on fast days works better for me, hope everyone has a great day.
Fast Day 2 for me today. I've only had tea so far, but I can't do what so many of you do and last till dinner time before eating, so I have a slim a soup, rice cake and some celery sticks planned for lunch and a Weight Watchers fromage frais with fruit for my afternoon 'danger' period (about 4.30/5pm)

Unfortunately one of our contractors has just walked into the office with cream cakes, so it is going to take masses of will power to leave mine in the fridge till tomorrow :o
This is my 4th Fasting day - my second Thursday and I have lost 10lbs so far ....really really happy with the loss but better still my knees have stopped aching.....
Normally fast Thursday's but as the kids are on holidays and it's bloody freezing in the uk. I'm on 6.1 for two weeks. Bit gutted I'm not fasting tbh which seems crazy but I need my energy to herd children around in this weather!

Good luck all of those fasting today. :clover:
Hey everyone – Happy Thursday

I am fasting today as well, it’s my second fast of the week.

I love this way of life. I have learnt that I can manage hunger and even on feed days, instead of snacking I can now just wait the 45mins before dinner.

I have soup in my available for lunch if needed but lately I prefer to save my cals for dinner – So I will have to wait and see how my day plans out.
SianS wrote: The family want chilli and so that is going to take a bit of careful portion control on my part. Any thoughts for a low cal accompaniment for me would be appreciated

We're having chilli tonight too - I'm not doing much in the way of accomaniment for me, as I want to maximise my chilli portion

I'll probably have some rocket and spring onions on the side and maybe a bit of chopped chilli and some parmesan on top.

I wasnt planning on fasting today, but have been invited out for birthday cake tomorrow, so this works best - everything higgldy piggldy due to the hols. I fasted Tuesday, so this has come round a bit quick, but should be fine. I've got lots of housework to do this morning, then looking forward to an afternoon knitting in front of TV.

I have to go to Waitrose today, which I oddly enjoy on fast days, looking at food, and planning the menu for the weekend.
Fasting today, had toenail removed yesterday and hobbling about with giant comedy bandaged toe so thought I'd stick with the usual Thursday fast and then hopefully tomorrow it won't be as painful and I can do a bit more as well as enjoy my food! Marks and spencer feel fuller meatball meal for dinner and hot choc before bed. Not hungry and don't expect to be until later, usually gets me about 5pm! Going to try and go slightly under 500 cals today as went slightly over during Mondays fast. Hope you all have a great day!
Hello everybody this is my second fast and very happy on how I am feeling, coffee for breakfast, green tea for morning tea, cup of soup and watermelon for lunch, green tea for afternoon and a bowl of red lentils and spinach soup for dinner,[I do notice I am eating dinner a little earlier than on my non fasting days] there were mini peanut butter cup cakes on the work lunch table and yep I picked up 2 but put them in lunchbox for tomorrow and will give 1 to my partner as he is doing the diet with me, also another collegue was sitting next to me eating fish and chips and it did not bother me at all, even though it did smell lovely. Knowing that I can eat tomorrow helps enormously. I am very excited about this lifestyle change.
Thanks to all who have suggested accompaniments to my chilli (I've just worked out how to use the Thank You button lol)
I'm using cubed rather than minced beef so I'll save the lettuce leaf wrap idea for another meal. I think I'll add some Slim Pasta to mine and make myself a side salad
I'm fasting today. Second of this week - first on Tuesday - a bit closer than usual due to hols.
Instead of breakfast & dinner am trying to last until dinner with maybe a Miso soup and apple at lunchtime.
I'm interested in the Hairy Bikers' book, has anyone tried splitting the recipes? Mostly cooking 5:2 just for me. Anyway, onward & upward! Have a good day all.
Happy Fasting everyone! I'm doing my first fast day of the week - usually do Mondays but didn't for obvious reason and decided to have a 6:1 week for a change to see how I get on as I'm nearing goal.
I'm fasting again today as well. It is funny how it can be a relief. I've been eating rather a lot this week. I didn't fast on Monday as is usual cos I decided to have a holiday from it. But then I went to the cinema on Tuesday so had ice-cream and then after we went to Pizza Express and so ate a lot there too. Yesterday wasn't too bad because I had a run. Just had a fasting breakfast and now that's it for food until 7ish. I don't know what my weigh-in will be like this week.
Right time for a lie down and a read. Good luck to everyone.
