Fasting today too, I' usually have a cal counted frozen meal as I don't trust my portion control when cooking and if I'm honest I don't enjoy it anyway.
but I noticed, on top of them not being very satisfied, I was also very dehydrated after eating it (prob all the salt they include) and the next day too.

So I have bought the Hairy Dieters cookbook and am tempted, so this WOE is making me a chef too.

Just need to choose something to cook today now!
The Thai chicken and sweet potato parcel looks lovely!

I too am fasting today! Normally I would do a cereal bar for lunch and then a 400 kcal meal for a late dinner but a knee injury requiring medication means I have to eat. Am getting over this by having 1 weetabix with skimmed milk and then a low cal dinner later on. My aunt sent me a copy of the Hairy Dieters recipe book and it really is a life saver! Paprika Chicken for dinner tonight - highly recommended!
My first week and second fast day. Holiday booked for 7 weeks so hope I can lose a little to feel comfy. Just had a cup of veg bouillon as its so cold today Already planning dinner Can't stop thinking about food

Same here
Half way through my fasting day, 4th April. Had several cups of tea with milk this morning, normally have it black on a fasting day, and haven't needed anything to eat yet! Will need to have a careful look at my 500 calories though. First day was tough but after that have found it quite easy. Hope that continues... Good luck to everyone fasting today! :clover:
Carorees I haven't tried them yet but have recently bought the book as well and tried my first Hairy Dieters recipe yesterday. We had the Spanish Style Chicken Bake and it was amazing!

Had a look at the 5:2 Facebook page and seems to be a little group of people on the THIRD CONSECUTIVE day. Is it only me who thinks they're nuts??

Anyway - I'm sticking to my 2nd (non-consecutive) day of the week while I get packed for leaving to fly to Berlin tomorrow for the weekend). Can't wait!! Did a Zumba class this morning and just had a nice warming slim a soup but am looking forward to spicy stir fry of turkey and veg tonight. Mmmm.
Now 2pm here! Just had an oxo drink to cure the rumbles. Going out this afternoon to buy the stuff for pointing the barns. Will stop me thinking about food. Don't feel like eating even though tummy is rumbling, knowing I can eat tomorrow makes it possible.
We are joining all of you wonderful fasters today. Small bowl of cereal for breakfast, 1/2 of banana in afternoon and chicken/salad for dinner. Lots of water and tea. Good luck everybody ! Love reading everybody's posts when I need encouragement and feel supported. Finishing week 5 and we never felt better. Actually look forward to fast days. We even have our son and daughter in law joining us now as they have seen our terrific results :)
At my sisters with the kidlets today (it's the Easter school break here). Fast 4 in week 2  I announced I was fasting when I arrived on tues so everyone's all good and on board. Hormones are up and down today so being a bit 'short' with everyone. Started my run training yesterday and went out again today :victory: , this time with my sisters dog. Running is hard work, running with a poo sack is very unpleasant :curse:

So glad to be here sharing this with you all. I'll keep reading these posts as they always keep me going. happy fasting ya'll
Yep, I'm fasting today. So far all is good, no headaches yet. It's my second fast-day and I've just had a small bowl of raspberries and cottage cheese. Feeling a tiny bit hungry :)
I think this is 20th fast day?! (I need to work it out properly) and although it gets easier, I still spend most of the day thinking about food. I am trying for the first time not to eat until dinner as I get hungry as soon as I eat anything but also because I can have a bigger portion at dinner. It also means (we're having chicken and veg stir fry) that if I stick to 400kcals I can possibly have a snack just before bed to ward off those hunger pangs... I find bedtime the worst for hunger and am fine the next day. Weird.
I don't 'look forward' to a fast day, in fact OI almost dread it, BUT I feel so proud when I wake up the next day and enjoy my food so much more. Plus it's working so worth continuing with! I'm off out in an hour which will take me to dinner time when I return. WOOP.
Second fast of our tenth week for me today, although I think we may have missed one or two fasts along the way! I'm fasting today but my husband is not! He is teaching a training course today, which involves taking the participants out to lunch! I, meanwhile, am having only black tea and water with a splash of lemon juice throughout the day. (Does anyone remember PLJ which was sold as a 'diet' drink years ago?)

I will eat at around 6.30 pm, probably chicken breast wrapped in bacon, with lots of vegetables, and no doubt my husband will eat that too, despite having already eaten at the pub!

I am hoping to just edge under 11 stone on our Sunday weigh-in. It would be lovely to be 10 stone something again! I haven't been that since July last year, and the year before, and the year before that, etc. I am hoping that this WOE will stop the yo-yo dieting forever and, because it is so easy and effective, I can't see why it shouldn't!
Fingers crossed for you StowgateResident. Am hoping for something similar around the 12 stone mark this weekend.....
Hi All, I am fasting today.

Plan as usual was nothing until dinner but out and about for work all day since 6.30 and stuck at services waiting for a customer who is running late so caved in and ate! Only a salad from Waitrose - 279 calories - so still on course to class today as a fast day just need not have much for dinner!

Just drinking a huge black coffee in Starbucks so hopefully that will keep any further hunger pangs at bay!
carorees wrote: Hi all, I decided to join you today as I've just organised for a friend to visit tomorrow! So far just had black coffee. I bought the Hairy Dieters book this week so am thinking of having something from there...possibly meatballs...tonight. Anyone tried the meatballs?

Hi Caroline, yes we have had the meat balls, they were very tasty, as is everything I have tried from the Hairy Dieters! Only issue was they fell to bits but probably more my cooking than the recipe!!

Hope you enjoy them!
