I'm fasting today and full of cold but still have my appetite :-/ so far had soup salad and half a blueberry muffin coming in at 380 cals for today. Now got to see if I can last out until tomorrow lunchtime - really hoping I can!! (Shouldn't have had the muffin but it was the cold influencing me I think!!)

It goes back to that other topic I started, but I still haven't found an answer why some get a lift and others find it a downer, and most of us are pretty much in the middle. I can't recall how long you have been fasting Pip, it might get better with practice? Like...

I've been fasting for just over 2 months Dom.

Are you a knackered faster or a preppy faster?

I'm going to go to bed for an hour or two now :sleepy:
Today is my second fast. Monday wasn't too hard because I kept busy but today I finished work rather early and now I am at home with the kitchen. Must. Stay. Away. LOL. I was planning on keeping myself occupied by doing some yard work, but it's pretty cold, windy and raw out. Some spring. I will work on my needlepoint project to keep my hands occupied. Breakfast was two HB eggs, dinner will be the canelini and tuna salad idea from the FastDiet Book recipe section. Just treated myself to a cup of beef bouillon for "lunch." I do think I overate on Tue and Wed. I know you aren't necessarily supposed to keep track on the Feed days, but I went a little nuts. I am planning on doing better tomorrow and the weekend. My Fast Days are Mondays and Thursdays. I think that's what most of us do? My husband is also doing the plan, but he is kind of whingy about it ;-)
Just had my meal - feel so much better now - I do enjoy a meaty meal on fast days. Now back to thinking about summer hols planing :)
Smoked haddock and veg for dinner and then off for a game of badminton. Not sure if having a little lunch for a change was as good thing or not - kept me going through the afternoon.

2 months should be enough to see you through the initial adaptation. Maybe you just have a rubbish constitution for 5:2

I feel pretty much the same on fast days as on other days, a bit spacey now but that is probably cos I haven't drunk enough water.

Sweet dreams Pip, and grow up into a pear not an apple!
Just had my dinner, Chilli (adapted from the Hairy Dieters recipe and calculated using MyFitnessPal) and a sort of salsa of tomatoes, cucumber, spring onions, red pepper, freah coriander and sherry vinegar. Lovely
I've got about 100 cals left, but am erring on the safe side as I'm not 100% certain of my portion size on the Chilli

Sooo looking forward to breakfast tomorrow
MFP has the Hairy Dieters recipes in it by the way.
Have had my quorn stir fry with a dessert spoon of brown rice and a Muller cherry greek yogurt. Feel very full and really enjoyed it. Took dog for a walk after dinner, very cold wind blowing. Snow forecast for overnight but am looking forward to the morning and my porridge and toast breakfast.
Well the Hairy Dieters meatballs were delish! I added a bit of carrot, celery and mushrooms to the sauce to bulk it out and zapped it with the hand blender so DS wouldn't spot the vegetables  I had 30g of spaghetti and a whole spaghettified courgette with mine, which I'm calling 450 cals altogether.

Thank you :blowkiss:

I didn't manage to get any kip but it was nice lying in bed listening to the rain.

Almost time for my 500 cals! Come to mama!
I too am fasting today. It's cool and windy here in southern Oregon so I'm not sure if I'm going to brave the weather for a brisk walk later. I'm starting my second month so the fasting days seem to be getting easier, no more headaches

Have a great day everyone!
Do you have as much caffeine as you do on normal days? I always have a couple of cups of black coffee during the day. Could be a reason for feeling tired. Or choosing food that doesn't give you energy. Also drink about 4 pints of water. Maybe do a week where you stick to the meal plans in TFD book for the fast days. That's what I did when I felt a bit lost, and hey presto I lost 2 lbs that week and was full of beans (not literally) on the fast days.

Also find out when you need to eat. For me I can go the whole morning on a cup of black coffee, then I have lunch and dinner on fast days. I just get hungriest in the afternoon.

I always think of really tasty delicious things to cook on fast days - I start planning it the day before and make sure the fridge is well stocked with all the things I will need. I also have to think whether I'm going to have something completely different from the family or something I can adapt for them (put chips with it!) So I actually look forward to the fast days. I feel so clean after. And slim! I only get tired in the late evening most of the time on FDs and go to bed slightly earlier.
For non-UK people by chips I mean fries. But chunkier :)
Hooray today is DONE

I should have come just on target, despite negotiating another day with the kids, so post-swimming snacks for them, water for me, yummy lunch for them, miso soup for me, and later home made popcorn for them, black coffee for me

Family Dinner was a plate full diced chicken in vegetable and tomato sauce with a huge helping of watercress and lettuce (I currently have a veg-box delivery induced lettuce-glut going on that I can't keep on top of), and a yoghurt. They had spaghetti with theirs. I frequently calculate the family dinners with MFP, declaring it as '3 servings' even though we are 2 adults and 2 children then I can be reasonably sure that I have a pretty generous estimate for the calorie count, I rarely have a full third, especially if we end up with leftovers too!

But I'm finally feeling warm now, after a whole day with cold hands. Result

I have a pile of ironing to tackle now :frown: and might need a hot choc after ...

Well done everyone and good luck for anyone fasting tomorrow!
Ah yes - no headaches today. Had a bit of one on Tuesday, but they were starting to disappear in the run up to Easter. I drink plenty on Fast days, but I suspect I may not always drink enough on Food days, especially when I'm not at work, so maybe that knocks on into the fast day I wonder?
