Hi All,

I'm in as well, 10th fasting day. In principle Mon-Wed-Fri for me. This is my 3rd week and so far I've lost 3 kg! Unbelievable, I tried losing weight on different 'diets', but as they didn't seem to work, I quickly gave them up. Off to morning chores now. A great day to all of you,
josie50
Me too! Wow this is a worldwide community isn't it
I am in today too,

I weigh myself monday mornings and i got a nice surprise this morning I lost 1kg - Boom! I am fasting mon and wed this week - as i am away this weekend.
Happy fasting everyone! :-)
Morning! I'm in too - off on my holibobs in the morning, looking forward to lovely fresh fruit and tomatoes that taste like tomatoes, not the tasteless cardboardy stuff in the UK - bleurgh! Happy fasting everyone!
I'm in. 4th week, 7th fast. Stopped feeding my tummy last night at 10.00 so fasting from then until lunchtime tomorrow 36+ hours. Can't believe how easy and enjoyable this is.

Green tea, fizzy water and bovril on standby, nothing else till dinner tonight. Chicken in tomato sauce with spinach and a 10 calorie jelly, ooohhh and maybe a 40 calorie hot chocolate before bed.

Weight is coming off slowly, can't see much change to my muffin top yet but definitely feel it coming off everywhere else. Thighs are definitely smaller, I no longer have to undo my favourite jeans to get them on and off.

Good luck to the Monday fasters today :clover:
After a big eating and drinking weekend celebrating my OHs 40th I am glad of a fast day today! Also 2 weeks until my holiday so another incentive to lose a couple more pounds!!

Hope everyone has a good day x
Looking forward to my fast today - too much of good things over the weekend and am still stuffed :)
I'm fasting today, trying ginger tea and fizzy water to see if I can wait a bit longer before having any proper calories (although longing for a coffee just can't face it black).
Stupidly got on the scales this morning after pizza last night and was a couple of lb back on - I normally weigh after a fast day and now I know why!!

Have decided to try and cut my alcohol intake for a couple of weeks to see if that makes a difference both to getting my weight down and to see if it helps to make better food choices. I've also planned meals for the whole week so I have food to look forwards to every day (and food in the house) to try and avoid snacking and also eating in the evening while I work out what to have for tea... Fingers crossed it makes a difference :)
Last night I didn't feel like fasting today as I was pretty hungry after my dinner at 7 o'clock. I don't snack on eating days so went to bed feeling a bit peckish. However, so far so good, don't feel hungry so will give fasting a go today. Best of luck everyone!
Back on today after a disastrous weekend - styed with friends who seemed to live on all the stuff I don't eat at all - ever! So am sort of pleased to fast again today although I woke up starving due to all the carbs and wine and cheese!!
 I'm in today.
I'm finding that a teeny lunch - an apple, or a carrot with a little dab of hummus and a Miso soup - then most of my calories in one evening meal with lots of veg or a salad seems to work for me. Plenty of water and a few cups of coffee and tea also of course!
Good luck everyone!
Count me in too please  Butternut squash soup to head home to later, yum - have a good day everyone
Morning All!

I've spent too long in bed reading all the forums.....and words of wisdom. It's lovely to hear about other 5:2ers experiences, especially from other parts of the world.

I'm fasting today too, feel a bit of a fraud as still feel stuffed from a dinner party last night! Just hope all my hard work hasn't been in vain!

Good luck everyone!

Hi Michelle and welcome! :)

You can eat whatever you want on your fast days as long as you don't go over your 500 kcals. Most people try and avoid simple carbs as these are high in kcals and leave you feeling hungry again a short while later. A small amount of protein with lots of salad or veggies seems to be the order of the day, although some people will have complex carbs like oats or porridge to start the day.
I'm joining you all today, week 15 and another couple of lbs lost this last week! Yey! That's 1 stone 5lbs down, people are starting to notice now and I've started outing myself as a faster as I feel confident I can stick with this long term! Even think I converted someone on Saturday to give it a go which is great! Jeans I couldn't fit in at the beginning are now feeling quite baggy and my work trousers are getting a bit clown like, this way if eating may involve me spending all my spare food money I've saved on new clothes! Hoping to get to size 18 before I splash out a bit and then I can shop in any shops which would be amazing! Excited to fast today! Good luck to you all
