I am in too  - my 11'th fasting so far, and it is going just brilliant. Haven't been eating since yesterday evening for dinner at 7pm  Just drinking a lot of water, tea, coffee and a little bit of Cola Zero  ..
I'm in for my usual Monday fast

This is the first one I've done whilst at home and it's not as bad I feared it might be. I'm OK at work because I keep busy and don't have food. Here I'm relaxing and there's the fridge...

I suppose I could have something to eat, but I'm mostly doing this to give my body a rest, so that would defeat the object. Anyway, I'd only be doing it because the fridge is calling my name, not because I'll fade away to nothing before teatime...

Well done all the Antipodeans who made it through the day and :clover: to everybody else!
I'm on fast day 10 - I've lost half a stone & am feeling much more motivated... I'm doing consecutive day fasts this week as I've got 2 meals out later in the week... just one meal today - a stir fry I reckon.
Signing in a bit late...I've been out working today, so I had porridge first thing & Cuppa Soup at lunch. But I really want to share some YAYness!

I have been really discouraged because I've only lost 500g in 4 weeks of fasting. I had people saying "You're eating too much...this fasting isn't working...You should calorie count/not eat carbs/ drink less wine/eat more veggies etcetcetc" So rather fed up I decided to give up the 5:2 and go back to calorie counting. On impulse, I tried on my "aspirational jeans" - these are a pair of size 16 jeans that I have not been able to zip up for at least 5 years. I could zip them up!!! OK, there was a definite muffin top, and I couldn't sit down comfortably but - I COULD DO THEM UP!!! So, I've not lost weight - but I've lost fat. Thank you very much 5:2! I'm still here & I'm not giving up! PAH! to calorie counting!!
If you find yourself getting really hungry, drink a huge glass of water and follow that with a cup of green tea (a natural hunger suppressant). within 15 -20 minutes you should stop feeling hungry. Best of luck.

PS. I am fasting today also.
I'm in!

Congrats, Fat Dormouse!
Brushing your teeth can bounce away hunger pangs too. Tip from Joan Collins!
Fishbaum....so sorry for the loss of your friend. It is such a shock when we lose our friends much too young.

Let us keep our eyes on the health benefits from this WOE.

Take care.
The average adult height and weight chart can be unreliable for women over 60. The National Institutes of Health recommends older women maintain a BMI between 25 to 27, as it protects against certain health conditions like osteoporosis. For example, according to BMI charts, a woman standing 5 feet 4 inches should weigh 108 to 145 lbs. However, a woman over 60 at this height who weighs 158 lbs., despite having a BMI of 27.1, would still be in a healthy weight range.

Just read this and it has set me wondering if my BMI of 25.5 is actually ok as I'm 60 now? All suggestions gratefully received.
 Fishbaum so sorry about your friend. X Well done FatDormousexx
I'm on my usual Monday Fast ~ definitely overate yesterday, so enjoying my fast! Not eaten anything since 9pm last night, looking forward to my 500cal dinner a bit later. A friend and I randomly decided to try the "couch to 5k app', we talked about it at work this morning and did our first session this afternoon!! :-)
I'm fasting today as well. My 8th fast, and I'm struggling with it today. I feel cold and grumpy!! Not a good frame of mind really. Nevertheless I've been drinking coffee all day to warm me up and I did have a cuppa soup at lunch time. We normally eat around 6pm, so I consider I've made it when it gets past 6pm. I don't eat at all on fast days. Monday evenings are quite busy so easy to keep my mind off my tummy until I go to bed. Luckily I'm not someone who can't sleep hungry. I may go to bed early to get it all over with.....
Hi everyone:) I'm doing my 5th fast today, got a be good to yourself hotpot for tea yumyum! It is getting easier and although it's hard at the start of the day I'm finding as the day goes on it is quite enjoyable:)
Well done to everyone with scale and non-scale victories - doing great!:)
This is my second fast also. I fast during a work day and find it easyer then during the weekend. During my frist fast I found that I had no energy loss. Just a few rumbles in my tummy that I was able to stop with a glass of water. I was only able to fast 1 day last week and I had a 2 pound weight loss. I am hoping to be able to fast 2 days this week.So far so good. You can do it! :-D
Wow, page 7 already!

I'm fasting today, too, after celebrating our anniversary last night with pizza and wine. Hubby's fasting today, too, his 1st :)

Having milk in my coffee but planning no other calories until tomorrow morning. We'll see how that goes.

Best of luck everyone!
