Fasting here, too. I have not had anything to eat yet (I usually have breakfast) because I'm taking my son to playgroup in a bit and I'll want a cup of coffee there. Trout and veg parcels for dinner, which I am going to type up the recipe for and share here x
Hi all just joined today and doing first fast - no problem at all so far - although I am on a night shift tonight so see how I am at 2am! At least i can look forward to nutella on toast for breakky :lol: any other shift workers out there on the program? Really hoping this actually works!!!!
I'm in..... but what on earth was I thinking, Breakfast to Breakfast?!?!?!?! :?: It's going to be a long day! :doh:
I'm in today - nothing so far (nearly 11am) other than a cup of black coffee. Have decided to try and cut out milk on my fast days although not sure I can stomach tea with no milk.
Going to boxing circuits this eve - hoping to get through it on my 2pm apple & save most of my calories for afterwards - having some sort of eggs & spinach concoction and 7g of green & blacks chocolate (have it weighed out ready)!

Am considering changing my fast day to Thursday rather than Wednesday - I like Mon / Wed as it feels I get it out of the way, but Thursday is my last work day so I get the Friday feeling 2 days a week rather than 1 and the temptation to indulge that evening is quite high.

Seventeen hours in to a 24-hour fast - and today's a tough one for me. Off to the dentist in a minute - that should take my mind off my stomach!
DONE! Just ate a nice big plate of chicken breast and veg. It's a good feeling! Hang in there everyone.
Just checking in! Start of our fourteenth week, stopped counting fasts now! My husband and I are fasting today - last one before a two week cruise, starting on Wednesday (No, I am not fitting another fast in tomorrow!) The fridge is almost empty, so I have no idea what we will eat this evening - better get my thinking cap on!

I'm fasting today...week 3 and can't believe I look forward to the fasts!! Nothing but liquids until tea tonight...I've made a sugar free jelly to snack on when I make the tea for everyone else...Happy Fast day everyone! :)
I'm in too, will be doing M-W this week. This is fast number 7 I believe. Very happy with this new way of eating, feeling well and watching the scale needle drop is bonus points. Good luck to all fasters today !
Half way through and feeling quite good, gonna downa cup of Bovril this afternoon if I get any urges :grin:
My third week and I'm trying what my husband did last week and having breakfast and lunch, then no dinner (out at dog training tonight, so eating's always a rush on a Monday evening anyway). Wish me luck.

It's spreading at work - I think there at least 5 of us in our dept now doing it, and I think I've persuaded another to give it a go!!

I'm in today too. Second week of fasting for me. I had a bit of a pig out on Saturday and yesterday wasn't great but I had a really healthy meal last night and was looking forward to today's fast. I have at least conquered my fear of being hungry and feel a lot more in control. Hoping to get through with just lemon water today, hot and cold as I find it really satisfying and it doesn't give me a growly gum like plain water. As a serious over eater ( I would take Olympic gold!) I am amazed by this WOE and can see that it will fast become a way of life. Also the forum is a lifeline so thank you all xxxx

Chickpea, apricot and veg tagine for dinner tonight. I'm big into chickpeas at the moment.
Stuck a bit last week and only lost half a pound and we've had a gluttonous weekend to boot!

Hello everyone - I'm brand new to the forum and almost brand new to the 5:2 way of life - today is my 3rd fast day!

So far, it's been a lot easier than I ever thought it would be and it really helps that my boyfriend is doing the fast with me! The night before a fast I prepare all of our food for the next day - I weirdly enjoy weighing everything out, which I never thought I would!

I'm a grazer, so last week I just had loads of fresh carrots, mushrooms, sugar snap peas, melon, grapefruit and miso soup for lunches, eating as late in the day as possible, and then either soup or a big salad for dinner followed by a sugar free jelly with some blueberries. Any time I started feeling hungry, I just reached for my bottle of water - it's surprising how much it helps just having a swig of water!

Today I have cucumber, cherry tomatoes, sugar snap peas, half a grapefruit and some melon with me for during the day, but so far I have only had a black coffee and some water... for dinner, I made a spicy carrot and lentil soup last night and can't wait to eat it later! I also have some sugar free jelly with blueberries ready in the fridge too - it's nice to end the day with a treat I find!

My boyfriend and I are going to a concert after work tonight, so I'm not looking forward to saying no to a proper drink, but I'm sure we'll get through it!
