What a fun tent! I haven't really thought of fashion much. I tend to dress simply, in jeans and a plain t-shirt (usually black). I do like to add cute shoes and a scarf. These pink ballet flats are my favorites, and I get sooooo many compliments on them

I also often add a scarf. I had a great time buying scarves on sale at Galleries Lafayette last week - I got this one in pink and black on a cream background: http://www.galerieslafayette.com/p/carre+imprime+feuilles-lafayette+collection/75062794/356
This is rose/pink

and this one in black

I also bought this dress for my sister in law's wedding in a few weeks. I was positively THRILLED that I fit into a dress from the regular size section of the store, instead of the plus sizes.

I got it in "waffle plaid" - a pink and black print (shocking, I know, that I'd go with pink and black). I bought a solid black pashmina in Paris to use as a wrap and I will wear black sandals with it. If it still fits in August, I'm going to wear it to go dancing on the quai of the Seine. Hubby actually wants us to take tango lessons so we can join in this year!

I have ballet flat envy. With flat feet and narrow heels, I can't keep them on my feet. I just walk out of them. I have to have something with a strap.
For those of you who like to lurk in black you would fit right into Melbourne, Australia. Black is always in.

Hey Mary Lynn @MLCDz nice to see you! Call by more often x x x
@wildmissus - how weird is that - I was just looking at the White Stuff website today - and have got a voucher for 15pc off - I like their navy and blue stuff and they have some nice looking chinos and blazers, and the prints are lovely too. But the cardi you bought looks fab too, will have to check it out. We have a branch here in Morpeth, so might pop in this week sometime.
Love your lovely dress @Tracieknits. What an amazinfg feeling to be able to fit into something in a regular section rather than the generous sized section. I know how that feels. I look into the shops I used to frequent and think ' those close look to big for me now' I'm sure the smaller ones would still fit as I'm still a size 16 but they tend to all be long and floaty and I'm trying to get away from those sort of ' cover up' clothes as they make me look bigger than a shirt that sits higher on your hips and is more close fitting.
I have done the large and floaty, about twice in my life and seen the photo's afterwards, never again. I think sugar plum fairy or the hippo in the pick tutu in the film Fantasia are good approximations of what I look like in floaty. Maybe if you are only a size 16 or 18 they may help disguise a 'monthly' tummy or something, but when you are my size all they do make a point of the fact you are trying to hide the rather large obvious. I prefer to look how I feel, happy in my skin. I wear t'shirts that fit in all the right places, but that go down to my hips so I don't cause anyone a heart attack. I wear tight jeans because I feel comfortable in them, but not jeggings because the material is so thin it shows every ripple of cellulite or shrunken fat layers. There is no disguising that I am big, so why try and disguise it. But looking good is also a lot about attitude and looking relaxed in what you are wearing.

What a beautiful dress @tracieknits
Just got this scarf and looking forward to wearing it this winter so soft and love the colours the pattern, am a grey fiend in winter with black so this fits the bill over a soft fine grey knit jumper and new black skinny pant and there is just a hint of colour with pale baby pink strip on one edge of scarf

Hi, I am a bit of a boring dresser and only really stick with safe colours and that can really be boring, black, white, brown, beige, neutrals.
I would love to throw in a third colour to my daily dressing, but how?
I nearly bought a colour wheel from ebay, to help with this and the third colour is opposite the other colour that may be a primary, trying to remember.
Oh I dont know. I remember teals opposite was a hot pink but I'm not game enough for that, I dream of being game, but unfortunately I stick with the safe plain jane.
I think I remember greens opposite may have been orange, dont quote that though.
If I see a dress and it has 3 or more colours I know its ok, because someone chose it in the design, but if I had to buy 3 pieces in different colour I would be stuck and fearful.

@zamale fear not, you are amongst happy black dressers here. I struggle to integrate colour, other than white, cream or beige into my wardrobe. I also struggle with pattern, almost never go for patterns, just solid blocks of black. I occasionally add a little bit of red but my one colour of choice is bright pink. I never wear green, (there I go telling porkies again as I found not one but two green items the other day lurking in my wardrobe, ) and I never wear orange or yellow. I am not an autumn colour kind if girl, but I can wear bright jewel colours in small amounts and I try to do that with scarves or belts etc. perhaps we should have our own 'Henry Ford.......any colour as long as it is black' tent.
