Hi Dreamer. Hope you managed to get off eventually. I woke at 3 but decided to get up with OH about half an hour ago. Looks like the mag tablets seem to be working for everyone except me at the moment. I dare not take any more or I will end up with needing the loo in a hurry

They didn't work for me last night, I tossed and turned for ages and then Auntie Molly woke me up at stupid o'clock! Shall try again tonight.
Love your motto!!

Yeah I eventually got off at somewhere near 4...I'm exhausted now though. I'm not sure why its happening so often this week. Maybe I'm letting my brain become too active before going to bed.

I am a rotten sleeper too. I'm doing The Dryathlon at the moment too which is definitely making it worse as I can't have a cheeky glass of wine to help. Bizarrely being hungry doesn't stop me sleeping initially but it wakes me up early in the morning.

My hubby wakes up ravenous, but it has worn off for me and I am rarely hungry after a fast day. I know your problem daydreamer, I often wake up as soon as I lay down, as my brain takes off. I am hoping magnesium may help.

HI @babyfish. Welcome to the tent and to the forum. Hope the fasting is going well for you. Dryathlon. Never heard it called that before. Booze keeps me awake but I didn't have any last night so not sure why I was awake. Well done you. :like:

I've been taking magnesium for some time for my feet but I don't sleep well and I certainly don't suffer from diarrhoea! I buy them on line and have just checked the formulation. They contain magnesium oxide, hydroxide and stearate so maybe that is why. Unfortunately I have just received a new supply. Can't decide whether to carry on with them or try and get some magnesium citrate and see if that makes a difference

Hi Lil, I have got some magnesium citrate and will let you know if they help at all. Somewhere else carorees said that the citrate was better absorbed.

@Debs and @Lil this is what caro said re magnesium..

"Yes, I think the magnesium helps. Be sure to get one of the better absorbed forms though. Not magnesium oxide or sulphate. Also check the amount of elemental magnesium the tablets give you. I've got some 500mg magnesium citrate tablets but they only give 80g of elemental magnesium. You need about 300 mg taken about 2 hours before bed. There's a thread all about it somewhere."

I havent bought mine yet coz looking for the right one..have slept better the last few nights,so if i HAD bought it,i would be thinking its the answer to my prayers
Really want to get some tho coz besides helping peeps sleep, its also good for restless legs which drive me crackers! X

Just thought I'd be Captain Sensible and pop in here to check on you noisy lot! 2 nights' good sleep for me, but I don't take magnesium. I think I need to visit a Boots to read some labels.
But I certainly feel better for two nights' good sleep. Means I'll probably be joining you tonight!
