I'm fine, I've done my first bit of DIY, done some online shopping and I'm about to have a short nap before heading out again.

I've just done a trawl round town and almost all the magnesium supplements on the shelf are magnesium oxide - why is that if it is poorly absorbed!!!. Wilkinson's is magnesium hydroxide. My memory of chemistry suggests that should be readily soluble but does that mean it's absorbed - some internet research required methinks.

Magnesium in the aspartate, citrate, taurate, glycinate, malate, and chloride forms is absorbed more completely and is more bioavailable than magnesium oxide and magnesium sulphate. I've been using this (but to get enough elemental magnesium I have to take 3 capsules): http://www.amazon.co.uk/Natures-Own-Mag ... B00CHJ3Q80 plus I have a handful of almonds most days which adds an extra 80mg. Nuts are a really good source of Mg plus they are full of healthy fats.

Almonds, dry-roasted, 1 ounce has 80mg per serving
Cashews, dry-roasted, 1 ounce, 74mg per serving
Peanuts, oil-roasted, ¼ cup, 63 mg per serving

I'm back in the tent. I don't usually have any trouble going to sleep but often wake around 4am. Tonight I am still wide awake.

After I got into bed I remembered that I am fasting tomorrow so my efficient packing up a lunch ready to take to work was a waste of time. Oh well I can have it on Friday.

I'm going to read now and hopefully will drop off soon.

Goodnight!

Second night in a row where I had a good sleep, great. The down side is I then don't get up til 9 which is just a bit late but it makes it less time til lunch even though that is not a problem. A lovely morning here so I may head out in a bit for a walk. Hope all in Aus are not suffering too much in the heat. Sorry I missed you Debs last night but fear not we shall bump into each other in the middle of my night again soon.

Ballerina x

Aaargh, can't sleep, and it's 3 a.m. Suppose to be in my fasting period but ate a tangerine anyway. It's rather comforting to look at the names of all of you currently signed on. I'm usually reading your daytime comments when I go to bed at night:)
