Just finished my 2mile run, I am on a 1/2 fast today as I am meeting a friend at 3.30 for tea and cake I will then have a nice big salas at 7.30. I do love being retired and having the health to enjoy it. My mother used to call it the golden years. :like: Make the most of them everybody :clover:

Good morning on this grey & rainy day in Sussex! Weigh in day for me & I have lost 1&1/4lbs. I made a vow three weeks ago to lose a stone before Christmas & to complicate my calculations I joined Juliana's tent yesterday to help make her one hundred people & also record my weight loss there. On my own challenge I have lost 2 & 3/4lbs. & that sounds a little better so it's 11 & 1/4 lbs. to lose before Christmas & if I manage that it would be wonderful & another miracle will have happened. I am still waiting to hear from from my son if I am to become Mother of the groom but his phone has broken so awaiting an email when he can send them. But losing weight is good anyway & much needed as yesterday my husband showed me some old photos of when we were on a cruise & I was shocked by how large & fat I looked. Still some way to go but I am wearing UK size 16 jeans now which is an improvement on size 20/22 but some then were USA sizing from Orvis!
Hope you all have an enjoyable weekend I am off to choose some replacement new furniture because we will be downsizing next year to a retirement village that is being built near to us.

Hi to all the wise old souls in the Senior Sanctuary and Happy Weekend
Well done Isis and exciting that you may be Mother of the Groom soon!
I was Mum of the Bride last year and it was fab BUT it would have been so much nicer if i had lost weight for it..wish had known about 5:2 two years ago! As is is, i am fat on the wedding photos which will be around forever..not the end of the world but would have been nicer to be 14/16 instead of 18/20

Hi to all well I weighed in yesterday on my official day my
holiday gain of 5kg !!! had dropped by 1kg so only a small drop but every little helps i suppose, would like to lose the other 4kg by my next weigh-in but will just have to settle with whatever it will be, i'm doing a sort of semifast today + tomorrow because i'm not hungry in the mornings anyway and think the antibiotics are making me even less hungry

I have started my Maintenance once a week fasting.

Yesterday I weighed 7 stone 9. Today I weigh 7 stone 8 and yet yesterday I ate really well and even had chips (the UK sort). Finished off with almonds, walnuts and hazel nuts last night. Would have expected today to be the same weight as yesterday, if not heavier. Odd as I have done no exercise at all.

Is it better to have the fasting "main" meal at lunch time, or later in the evening? Does it matter?

Well done Eyrlys and Welcome
As to the question its entirly up to you either way to suit your own lifestyle. For me and many members its evening meal only because once i eat lunch/snack i actually become more hungry. Good Luck and let us know how you're going on.

Some of you may recall that last week I hurt my back and was hoping not be laid up too long. My hopes came true and this week I began to resume, cautiously, normal activities, including exercise! I've taken a week off my two weekly volunteer shifts at the library, but will resume that on Monday, if all goes well.

I also fasted yesterday for the first time in a while and am today at my lowest weight and waist size since starting 5:2!

A very happy (and lucky) sassy senior. Thanks for all your good wishes and good examples--:)

I'm sorry! Here we just returned from a bike ride under azure blue skies (really!). But a lot of the paths are still closed after the flood. Either still under water because they are adjacent to creeks, or just plain destroyed. Mother Nature quite extraordinary.

Yes - all those on the south coast, south west , wales - look after yourselves! What a shame we can't redirect some of this rain over to the Blue Mountains!
