This sounds good can I join in, 67 next week and feeling younger all the time. Son's wedding on Saturday and am wearing an outfit I couldn't have considered eighteen months ago.Like the rest of you don't feel any older if anything feel far younger than I did in my 40's and 50's and am far fitter as well as being slimmer.

Is anyone else similarly challenged as me? I'm talking about standing on one leg whilst trying to put on socks & undies? one of the reasons for joining Tai Chi classes is my rubbish balance so that first thing in the morning I stagger a bit & no it's not the alcohol  but leftover from a middle ear infection & a bad case of vertigo that was about ten years go ago! However at Tai Chi when we were explaining our reasons for joining I did only mention difficulty with socks
Also you dedicated people who have already managed to lose 2-3 stone in weight being one of the sassy seniors, I'm not sure how to put this delicately, are you left with saggy bits? & have any of you managed not to have any? I'm sure my stomach, legs & thighs already have stretch marks & I still have three more stone I would like to lose :curse: I am trying to lose one stone before Christmas so I don't look too bad as Mother of the groom
How wonderful Garnet already going to your sons wedding on Saturday! What will you wear & are you pleased with the way you look?

Realistically I am not expecting to look In the mirror and see a younger woman but I am still well pleased as the good food, lots of waster, a good moisturiser, nice hair style and interesting wardrobe and slimmer me is giving me a sparkle and I have much more vim and vigour not having to cart around 12 extra kilos.

Can you get any exercises to help you improve your balance Isis eg physio or exercise physiologist to work out a program for you to practice. Balance issues must be a bother

Off to grandsons 9th birthday later, they seem to grow up faster than their parents did. I know he's getting a digi-tablet so doubt I'll get a word out of him! We've given him a model plane and DVD's, probably too old hat for him really. Ah well.
Nice to see so many joining here, really there is no age bar, if you understand old money you're in!

Yes Isis i have rubbish balance and co ordination BUT it has improved a little since 5:2ing
And. Yes i have saggy, lumpy bits ..you name it..and my cellulite has cellulite
Think this is thru years of yoyo dieting
On 5:2 my cellulite is changing tho..still there, but gone softer and watery rather than hardish lumps and ripples
Sorry TMI !
I need to pull all my saggy bits up and tie a big knot on the top of my head..wd love to be all tight and toned ..as it is i have to keep well covered so as nott o frighten children and horses  x
HAPPY MOTHER Of THE GROOM,GARNET !

Oh you lovely lot, you've brought a smile to my face today. We have a very poorly doggie again and a trip to the vet awaits. She's 13 (the dog, not the vet) and we are dreading the verdict.

Penny - cross me fingers for your doggie. My Fiona (RR and 12) have scared us s-tless twice over the years - first a wonky liver and then udder tumors. But she came through and is still her normally bitchy self going strong LOL.

@gillymary yoga and core conditioning have improved my balance no end. Balance is vitally important apparently most falls by older people are caused by poor balance and poor peripheral vision.

Hello Everybody,

May I join Seniors Sanctuary, please? Loved the bright, breezy tone. Will be 72 in February and was told by my oncologist (a wise guy) that the very best thing i could do was to lose 'some' stones fast ... So, i'm clutching at the 52 approach. Lost 5 lb. first week so i was over the moon. We'll see.

Was also a chicken fan but more of that on another thread!

Keep the flag flying. You all seem to be wonderful.
