Hi everyone
Been gone for a whole week. Didn't fast at all for a whole week AND ate anything and everything and only gained 500g but no inches on at all. Very happy indeed  nice to know that when life gets in the way not all is lost.
Did my first day today and it was easy gonna be a long sleepless night though as happens whenever I fast but am not hungry and I feel fantastic :like:
Will do 19:5 tomorrow cause I read to eBook and am to do this on my feed days.
Hope all my fellow fasters are all ok and doing good

Hi there, that was a close one skinnyli, but the beauty with this WOE is there is always next week!
Managed to drop a mere .7 lbs last week as I had visitors for a few days and had to turn my Friday into a 16:8. Today is my first fast for this week and it is going well.
Good luck to everyone!

Rightyo, I started 5:2 March 2013, quickly decided that 4:3 seemed to be where the human research was and that I'd lose more quickly. Got to goal, didn't have a real maintenance plan, slowly put 3kg back, then in a burst put another 4 on! So lost 9kg, in about 7 months, put on 5kg in about 9 months. So mid July back to 4:3 (Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday). I have lost over 3kg since. I plan to lose only 2 more, as too many people telling me I looked too skinny at 58.2kg (lowest weight). I think that has 2 reasons, old face looks wrinkly & gaunt and also I've always been curvaceous, so being skinny sort or didn't look like me (I think this cos I saw it in a friend). My plan for maintenance this time around is from Krista Varady's book. 3 days of 1000 cals. This seems really doable after 3x500 cals. It keeps the momentum of (almost) 1 day on, 1 day off which I also find way easier. On 5:2 I didn't get the weight loss and it was much harder to drag myself back to a fast after eating normally for 2 or 3 days. I only don't do ADF cos by Friday it's TGIF and Wineoclock! I have failed every Friday fast I have attempted. I need to celebrate that I have got thru another week of commuting!

Sounds like a good plan GMH!
Hi everyone, can I join in your tent please? As I mentioned on yesterdays fasting thread hubby wants us to do 4:3 as we are not losing on 5:2. I remember the stats saying there is not much extra weight loss between the 2 methods but just from reading the first 3 pages of this tent thread I can see that a lot if you find it gets things moving quicker than 5:2.
I said we can give it a try ( wasn't too keen as I just love 5:2) but hubs said because life gets in the way well most likely only end up doing it 50% of the time ( and his right as next monday is our 24 th anniversary well only fit in 2 fast days) and when I realized I haven't lost anything for 12 weeks I thought " you're right.OK let's do this!" Now in rereading this thread and seeing how much you love it now I'm ready to do it !! My days will be Monday, Wednesday and Thursday as I just cannot fast between Friday and Sunday night as that is time to wey hey!

I'm back to 4:3 after a business trip/holiday. I usually do MWF or MWSat. Having done it so long during the weight loss phase, it just feels normal.

I was gaining a bit after I got back, which was getting to me more than it should (I know how meaningless the daily numbers are), but at today's weigh-in dropped a big amount. Still above where I want to be but going in the right direction!

Hey @GMHthanks for sharing your journey. Bit like mine.. started with 5:2 and quickly realised it wasnt enough.
Love the idea of 3 x 1000 calories on a fast day for maintenance. does this plan have a name
As you say if you are used to 3 x 500-600 on std 4:3, to double your intake but keeping the 3 day a week mentality sounds really really good. Probs better than going to 5:2 or 6:1 for those that like the "fasting by the day" not the hour mode

You are right @julianna.. the thing with 5:2 is that in our hectic lives often the nominated fast days are interfered with by celebrations or events which for me anyway are barred from fasting mentality. and squeezing in the other day is so hard thus finding yourself fasting for only 1 day a week and not losing much

so by thinking a 3 day fast per week.. its easy to get at least 2 in and maybe more often than not 4.

agree with week day fasting. Weekends are for Gourmet Saturdays and Pankcake sundays.

My days are always Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday. leave the weh heying for Saturdays lol

Well done Swan51 you are losing despite the interruptions how wonderful is that.
After 1 fast and 1 feed day I am down 1kg so still a little progress made. Until now only I had noticed my weight loss and no one else but from reading other posts I didn't think anyone would notice until I had lost at least 10kgs, but last night it was so sweet because my maid commented that she was happy to see me eating cause I was getting "smaller" and she was concerned that I wasn't eating cause she only ever has 2 plates to clean for my daughter and my hub. Well I was over joyed and it was all I needed to hear to encourage me to keep doing this.

Well I'm ready to prepare tonights fastday meal of quorn spag bol with courgette spaghetti and an extra serving of mixed steamed veggies to bulk up with.
Had an unexpected invite for a celebratory meal so had to postpone yesterdays fastday and do back2back with tomorrow which luckily for me I'm OK with. :like:
Almost 2 down out of my regular 4:3. :like: :clover:
How are things going for you nursy? @nursebean

@Sue.Q, I don't know how you could manage two fast days in a row! I know I for one would be chewing my nails off! I have just gotten to the point where I can go through a fast day a forget that I have not eaten.
@skinnyli, it feels good to have some one notice and comment doesn't it? Keep on doing what you're doing as it seems to be working.
I am into my second fast for the week after having a great fast on Monday.
Keep going 4:3ers!
