My one woman experiment for next shift!

Take a leaf out of @Auriga's book and be stubborn!
So, limit my choccy, yes bean! Only dark 80%+ and once a week splurge. No sweet crap from the mess, again, once a week only. Brave the veggies and salad to fill up on. No refined carbs apart from fish and chip Friday, and EXERCISE!!
I am still ADFing, but cleaning up my act to try again. I have pasted up a couple of piccies of the tropical paradise we are going to in December to remind myself, although I shouldn't really need it.
Clearly I can't eat all I want and still lose weight, I am ovbiously not one of the lucky ones for whom this works well, but it is still my best way forward. I can't afford to go away at the end of May and put oo much weight back on so I need to retrai myself before then.

I'm going to ADF between now (I just got back from a conference in the US) and my next half-marathon in April, or until I reach a kg or two below my goal weight (I want my goal weight to be my upper range for maintenance). I'm also rededicating to making non-fast days healthier, with no alcohol and sweets just once a week. Those are two things I felt were getting out of control recently...

Welcome to the tent! It is happening for the people in this tent and it is getting a little larger, unlike us

Wonderful to see it busier in here

@Debs You CAN do this. Go back to what you did in the first couple of weeks and as you say, tidy up the ragged edges. Enjoy your break - goodness knows you deserve it
Re: The ADF Tent

Yes @Debs you can do it!!!!!!! Focus on the island.... :island: :island: :inlove:... and I don't think anyone can succeed on here without giving up something, be it quantity, sugar, refined flour, too much wine or beer ....or whatever it is that is doing the damage.

It's all in the mind @Candicemarie just look into my eyes, look into my eyes. Hunger is a state of mind. Grab a glass of water and wait a while. Still hungry?

@Debs you sound a bit more positive! Yes, I think I'll join you in the chocolate once a week (when I eventually DO eat chocolate :frown: )

It's so good to see so many of you in this tent now! I think you've all finally realised how good ADF is haven't you. Well done xx

Thanks Beanie @nursebean but its not that sort of hunger
Like all of us ive now got used to hunger pangs which pass given a little time
This is the different relentless hunger that doesn't pass and is only relieved for a short while by eating, before it returns grrrrr!
only experienced it once, back in early January.
My little AdF experience has finished for now..will deffo try it again further down the line tho as in many ways, i found it do- able and also got results! X
Ps two days of TDEE then back to thurs/ mon fast n repairing..maybe give 4:3 a whirl soon! Love that we can " pick and mix" ..very Candyish thing to do..! :like:

Sorry no advice CandiceMarie, but well done on getting through your ADF experiment.

I've got the opposite problem and am still really struggling to eat :frown: I do feel hungry at times, but almost as soon as I start eating I feel at best disinterested and at worst (like this morning) nauseated. I haven't eaten a full meal since last Tuesday :starving: I do know it's not unusual to lose ones appetite after illness, but it isn't normal for me! It's not good at all because I feel rubbish - feeble with a headache and TIRED :frown:

No fasting for me until I've had a couple of days at least of eating normally under my belt.

Hi @Winsome and thanks!
Hipe you'll soon be feeling better and hope DD2 is ok ( and DD1)
Funny how yr body knows best..if youve no appetite,i guess your body is busy repairing
Take it slowly, and i deffo agree! No fasting til youve got back to normal x
Will ask Beanie to trundle her Get Better machine to your house( did you see it)
Just in case you havent...

Thank you @CandiceMarie I love that machine and definitely need it here this week! Don't suppose you've got a 'catch up with a weeks worth of laundry and general housekeeping' machine parked anywhere??

DD2 is hot and achy but being a good patient. Fingers crossed it doesn't land on her chest (asthmatic) and she bounces back quickly. Thanks for the good wishes.

hello peeps, it's a long time since I was here! However I've decided I'm an IADFer - intermittent Adf!! This week's the week! If I don't get a grip on this weekend's eating, it's the slippery slope! We topped everything off last night with the first bbq of the year.
So, please support me this week, for I fear I might fall at the first hurdle!

oh and @debs where can I find those island pics please, so I can feel doubly jealous?

Hello - I'd like to join this tent please. I've been on a hiatus for the last few months and have come back home. I have read a lot of the comments on this post and if ADF means more structure, then I'll be giving it a go. I am now much better at eating healthily, today is a feast day and I've stuck to eating what I've learnt to eat at Slimming World. Last time doing 5:2 I just found that feast days were so out of control. I'm expecting better results this time round.

@Pennyforthem and @motherof2 hello!

ADF will sort you out. I reckon it's a tool everyone should try even if only for the odd week. Think of it as a training plan... Boot camp! It's certainly worked wonders for me, and I'll be straight back on it as soon as I'm back to normal. Well, sort of normal. Normal-ish :?:

Good luck and keep us posted!
