I don't really want to lose weight, just to
a. make sure I don't gain
b. make sure I retrain my appetite, which was somewhat indulged over the last few days!

Thanks for being an ADF buddy, @nursebean and @winsome

Hi everyone,
Just read through 20 pages of the ADF tent. I guess this is where I belong because I've been doing alternate day fasting since Feb 18. I tried eating food on the fasting days (often a cheese and veggie omelette will fill me up all day and keep me satisfied) but lately I had just been drinking coffee and perhaps having a cup of broth or clear soup. But yesterday, I had two cups of coffee before 7am and then had nothing (except water) until 7am this morning. I'm going to try to keep that method up for a while and see how it goes. I'm 5 foot 1 1/2 inches tall and this morning I weighed in at 129.5 (down 4 lbs from yesterday morning) My goal weight is 112. I'm a daily weight checker and I need to do that. I write it all on a chart in my bathroom and it keeps me accountable. I don't know what app you guys are talking about but I feel more comfortable seeing my weight both after fast days and after eating. I also know that with myself, I need accountability. So I keep myself accountable by keeping a food journal on both fasting and eating days and by writing down my weights and whatever exercise I do. I usually walk slowly and read on the treadmill every day about 45-90 min, which goes pretty fast when you are lost in a good novel.

Anyway, I do a lot of posting on Fasting Connection and someone posted the link to here so I hope I can join!!

In bed now,so hungry! Is it something in the air coz i know @carieoates was hungry too
Any thoughts all you experienced ADF ers..i have just done three alternate days fast ..wed/ fri/ sunday..wasnt too bad at all but alarmed by how very hungry i am now .. :starving:
Can famine reaction set in this quickly after 3 ADFs x

@Candicemarie
I think I have a solution. Because it was lovely weather this weekend I did loads more "outside" jobs. It got to 2.30 Sunday and I'd done so much I thought it was dinner time. So maybe we over did it and that's why we were very hungry on Monday,
Just a thought.

You know it's not all that easy in this tent...I am gnawing on a chair today!!! After three ADF's...crikey.
Hi @PennyForthem ! And a warm welcome to @Lisafast & @Motherof2.

Hi @Lisafast and welcome to you!! I'm very much like you in that I check calories etc. on MYFITNESSPAL but every day I write down my weight, any exercise I may have done plus how my ME is. I also tick if I've been to the loo ( ) and then once a week I have a "weekly weigh" (surprisingly!) this day varies between Saturday and Sunday depending on when my fast is!

I know I keep on but I have to say I just LOVE doing ADF. It's so easy for me and I'm losing a lot more than I did in 5:2. I guess it's finding what suits you, isn't it and .i know I have a sloooow metabolism so I need all the help I can get...and that doesn't include 4 feast days in a row!!

Ooh sorry, I went on a bit there! Phooey! I must say you've put it in my mind to have an omelette tomorrow. Mmm looking forward to it already!

Blimey, the tent has just expanded into a marquee!! Welcome all! Well I'm back in Melbourne with my DH and had a lovely night's sleep. PFT, images for New Caledonia should make you jealous enough!! I did weigh myself this morning and haven't expanded too much thank goodness but I only had one meal yesterday with the time difference so that worked well.
Relax Winsome, you are probably feeling a bit washed out after your flu so take it easy, clothes smooth out when you wear them long enough!! Hope DD is better soon!

Glad to hear you are back home @Debs I'm sure you'll enjoy every minute

You're so right about the feeling washed out. DD2 seemed pretty perky this morning after a good night. We all had porridge and fruit for breakfast then took DD1 to school. By the time we got back, I was feeling really queasy again :dazed: and DD2 was drooping, so we elected to go back to bed! She's my snuggly girl and makes a great hot water bottle

It feels strange not to be fasting but if I can make it, I think I'm going to give myself the rest of the week off. I'm even taking this vile tonic stuff in the hope that it perks me up a bit. Bleurgh.

Ahhh what a sweet daughter you have @Winsome. I have two little dogs for hot water bottles...very handy in the winter, not so good in the summer! xx

Yes, if I were you I'd have a week off and make sure you're well again before you fast. Don't worry, we know you haven't abandon us and we are all here for you

Bean

By the way...I'm writing this with bleach on my head...feeling a tad nervous now
