Thanks Bob! Yes, I'm fasting today and, yes, like you, I LOVE tomorrow and I love that every day I look forward to tomorrow, it that makes sense. Not that I'm wishing my life away but I know that if I'm struggling whether it be because I'm hungry or because I'm overeating, I know that I can make up for it...tomorrow! It is the best way of eating I've ever come across and although the weight loss is slow at times...its definitely moving in the right direction, plus its changed my whole attitude towards food, plus I just don't have as big an appetite as I used to. Hoorah to fasting and in particular to ADF fasting

Debs, you know this is YOUR tent, so whether you're having a mini break or not, we can't cope without you! And 4 days without chocolate is pretty impressive for you. Well done!

Ditto Beanie about this being your tent Debs. You are the stake in my guy rope

Btw, that's probably bad terminology; I don't camp

Bean and Bob, I'm a huge fan of 'tomorrow' too. Now I am singing 'tomorrow, tomorrow, I love ya, tomorrow, you're only a day away' from Annie

I'm fasting today, who else is on this schedule? Saturday won't be a problem for me this week as the girls are out in the morning and have a friend here for tea, so I would naturally be eating separately. I'm feeling quite in the zone this week

Oh its the wonderful Winsome! Yes, it would appear we are on the same schedule. I love the way you alternate between fast days, so last Sunday I fasted but this Sunday I shall have Sunday lunch and, who knows, maybe a glass of wine!

Its great isn't it

Thanks Beanie

Yes, it works out perfectly for me because next week the girls and their father are at Twickenham for the rugby sevens, so they will be out all day. Plus, a bank holiday Monday would usually be tricksome, but the girls are in school as normal and DH is very supportive so won't be put out by me not eating during the day.

Thinking about it, I much prefer a Sunday fast to Saturday. I think that psychologically there's something lovely about not starting the week on a fast. Monday mornings are bad enough! Also, we tend to have alcohol on Saturdays not Sunday evening.

I started 5:2 this week and today is only my second fast. I am thinking of perhaps doing Monday, Wednesday and Friday next week and then easing myself into the ADF the week after. Any tips from all you ADF wise women?

Welcome Ilse

I would be wary of heading to ADF that quickly, in all honesty. Some people adjust to fasting really easily, many find their third ever fast quite tricky and some people take a few weeks before their body settles. I'd stick with the 5:2 for at least a couple of weeks until you are sure you are not suffering with headaches or other side effects. In fact, if it's working for you, I'd stick with 5:2 until you find your body needs an extra push to let go of weight.

Remember that ADF or 4:3 doesn't make a significant difference to how much weight you will lose. It's just about your preferred tool for the job.

Hello Winsome, thank you for this good advice. I will take it on board and stick to 5:2 for the time being then. I might still have a peak in this tent because I find it very inspirational. Take care!

Fast three of the week and I didn't plan it very well. Realised I had promised cake to the littlies, that the pears I bought for jam needed cooking as they were spoiling, and that due to logistics, hubby and I would have to eat with the littlies and their guest... I ended up eating a very small portion of their veggie pasta with pesto, a big pile of salad, but succumbed to the tiniest end of the garlic baguette and a finger width sliver of apple cake  Oh, and I probably consumed a tbsp of the pear and lemon jam that I made this evening, what with licking my fingers after each test for set

Still, better than no effort at all...

Sounds as though you did very well Winsome in the face of all of that! I made pear jam once, very tasteless but I think with lemon it would give it a really nice zing.
Trying to fast properly today until dinner but tbh feeling very pssed off and miserable. Just a case of too many days working and very tired. Feeling a bit defeated by it all today not having much to show for it  :pissedoff: :pissedoff:

((((((Debs))))) You sound so glum :frown: I can only offer up my favourite mantra "this too shall pass." When do you get some r&r?

Pear and lemon jam is LOVELY, possibly my favourite. Soft-set lemony jam with little chunks of pear... I've made this recipe a few times as it is so wonderful. I can imagine pear ok it's own is rather dull.

Thank you Winsome, yes I know it will pass, I am out on R&R and have a lovely holiday to look forward to. Just one of those days I guess.

@lise I have to say that I actually find 5:2 more difficult to stick with than ADF. I know that sounds bizarre but I take my hats off to the 5:2 bods who are getting good results. I think it shows real willpower and healthy eating on "normal" days. I just HAVE to fast after a feast or I'm sure I'd just end up feasting all the time. Give it a go...you've nothing to lose xx

Oh no @Debs hope you get some good r&r and feel revived soon. Don't like it when you've got the glums. Hope you're ok.

@Winsome are we out of sync again? How'd that happen? oh no, actually, it's Sunday, so I think you're feasting today aren't you? Oh berlimey, I don't know!

Thinking I might start a sweet shop. Don't think there's that many around. Naughty but nice, eh?

Anyway, enjoy your Sunday. It's very quiet around here isn't it. Has everyone gone on holiday?

I haven't gone out of synch since last time we checked in Beaniebobs; I'm feasting today. Yesterday I fasted but would have gone over the 500 calls in the evening. I'm not unhappy with it though.

The sweeties sound interesting; will you have room for the stock?

Just made soda bread and waiting impatiently for it to come out of the oven. I make it often but this is a new recipe. Just the ticket with home made jam
