Feeling GOOD today :victory:

Scales back to 11.11 something :like:
Size 12 jeans feeling loose-ish again :like:
Had my hair done :like:
Not fasting BUT could have quite easily I think; I'm not at all inclined to eat junk which is the first time on a feast day for ages. I've had a bowl of bircher muesli with blueberries and apple, some tomato rice with tuna and ONE chocolate digestive.

Perhaps the thought of the fancy dress party on the 31st has made something click this week  I've just ordered the bits I needed for my costume... just hope it all works together!

Hi All... can I come in your tent? Its cosy in here and support is good - ADF on your own is 'interesting'!!

I've been doing it now for about 5 weeks (tho I bombed last week big time with family around).

I've defo lost weight. The thirsts and constant loo visits at night have dissipated... tho I still feel anxious on fast nights and grind teeth a bit when hungry - I decided yesterday it was a hangover from Neanderthal times, when I might have thought I'd never eat again!

I'm now finding for me, that no food all day is best, with one 500 meal in the evening... it seems much easier not to think about food all day, then not count calories in the evening but do the DODO diet recommendation -supper is a palm size piece of protein, and 2 hands of veg/salad plus a splash of oil (and a small wine in my case!). Its all much easier, and no obsession needed - just sugar free gum and a bit of diet cokes with my jasmine tea!

I think I'm trying to think this is a way of life - for health reasons, I'm an Aries, so no patience for weight loss.

Happy Camping all

Carmen

Hi Carmen, and welcome! Plenty of room in this tent

I like your way of working out your evening meals and may try that myself next week. I'm all for ease on a fast day.

Look forward to hearing more from you.

@CandiceMarie perhaps all will be revealed (not in the literal sense  ) in a photo at the end of the month, if I'm happy with it  The theme is 'come as your alter ego' ...

Feeling good again today. Weight down despite not fasting yesterday :victory:

Should be fasting today but we'll see. I find Saturdays tough as we are usually out and about. Just off in a bit to buy asparagus from the local farm, and also some more paint for the beach hut.

Good to see a newbie in here Carmen @Sailgirl333. You sound really organised and it seems to be working well for you. Yes, I definitely think one meal in the evening is the only way to go. I always fail if I eat any earlier than 5!

@Winsome great to see you back in the zone! Long may it last!

So far I haven't given in. Only another 6 hours to go before I can eat anything...doh!

hi @sailgirl333 and welcome to you! Sounds like you're pretty sorted, good for you! with the teeth-grinding thing, I find I also get a bit "mouthy" on fast days and if I don't want my nails to suffer (!), I find chewing gum quite helpful, just to have the experience of the movement of chewing as much as anything (not in Singapore, though, it's illegal!). hth.

I'm back from OS this morning and managed to fast reasonably well while I was away, even though I couldn't really count the calorie content of my evening fast-day meal, I just had a small dinner. I even jumped on the scales this morning, more of that tomorrow! When I had a big night out, which seemed to happen reasonably regularly, especially in Singapore (chilli crab, say no more!!), I just planned that as a replenish day, or did a 18:6 - I haven't really put on any weight at all over 3 weeks, so I'm very happy!! So I'm here to say that ADF while travelling, even on the luxury end of the scale, is quite possible! But I still can't fast on long plane trips, even though the food might not be that great, it just breaks up the monotony for me.

Oh no! I've put on a pound this week  it's my own fault, I know. I failed a fast, skipped another and yesterday, whilst watching Eurovision, I ended up eating way more marshmallows than I should have. I think, since I started eating chocolate again I've lost the willpower. Most disheartening.

Chocolate is addictive isn't it. But don't despair bean we all regain on fead days ?dont we?

I am despairing a bit. Yesterday was a fast so I should have lost weight...but those wretched marshmallows kept winking at me. Why did I buy them? Why?

That's my new advice bean......don't buy it if you shouldn't be eating it. Have you downloaded hangouts yet?

Just downloading it now

Hi All. Thanks for the welcomes. I'm not that organized sadly, which is why I'm finding one meal a day, and hand size portion counting is working well. I work on a boat, and currently alone this week in harbour, so I find that much easier to fast. When the owners are on board, its really tricky. I can get away with no brekkie but the rest of the day is tricky if they want to go out to lunch. I tend to appear anti social at those times. For me, the best way around it all is just keep quiet. I saw somewhere else that a chap never told his family, and no one noticed! I just want to get this darned weight off. Getting a little older definitely slows everything down.
Sorry to hear about the Marshmallows Nursebean... they are WAY too tempting. I've the same thing with Turkish Delight, and just about managed to buy one small box in the last 2 months... and I've been in Turkey......... Crikey that was hard - Still... onwards and upwards

Well now I know why you're SailGirl!! Sounds like a wonderful job. What exactly do you do on board?

I take my hat off to you. Not eating Turkish Delight whilst in Turkey is some feat...not that I like them myself!

I think the answer to it all is don't have temptations to hand. Must be difficult when you're out for lunch, though. I'm pretty lucky because I don't tend to meet up with anyone on fast days so that makes life a lot easier.

Is anyone actually fasting today in this tent today?
