Good luck with your new plan @Debs I think your probably right about the sugar thing because I'm still sugar free in my drinks but I've had bad cravings since last Fri so I'm hoping a true fast today will get me back on track.

 au revoir @jools7 have a safe journey buddie what an exciting time ahead for you good luck :clover: :clover:

Great to see you back ADFing @Debs! I can't imagine eating any other way now. Bean doing this all year...so far and still not buckling. I think my up-coming holiday may interfere but I hope I get back on track as soon as poss!

Are you guys fasting today or am I out of sync with you...as per the norm?!

Quite relieved that I only out in 2 pounds after yesterday, I was convinced I'd put in at least 4!

Bean :starving:

Thanks @Sue.Q and @nursebean!! Still trying as usual! Well done bean on not going completely over the top!
Sue.Q I hear you over the sugar carvings, they can be very bad can't they? I have had a small amount today and hope that tomorrow I can have a successful full fast.

Hmm, how to stop sugar cravings. What about crunching on a stick of celery...with cream cheese of course  Would that help?

D'you know it's weird but on fast days I'm never really tempted by anything, come the feast day and I can eat anything...and usually do! Weird

Bean

I will try nuts bean but it is really hard when I get the cravings. That's why I am so impressed that you gave up choccy for a while. It is anything sugary though, not just choc. I am hoping by having small amounts of oats etc., it will curb them slightly. Sugar really dangerous. I try not to eat much with hidden sugar but it is sweet things that are the problem.
Unfortunately I don't have access to those things beany, but I am sure there is a suitable alternative.

Oh dear, sorry I don't really think that you don't have access to the same food! I'm allergic to nuts so I guess I miss out in their sugar-craving squashing powers (blimey, try saying that when you've had a few!)

Does a cup of coffee help? Actually, that always makes me want to eat a Digestive. I struggle drinking black coffee too. I don't know why I drink it really. I don't like it! Some fast days, I do add some milk...just to be a devil!

Bean

I hope to start another ADF run tomorrow, could be tricky though as am out and about. Do better when I am just hanging around home. Be glad to have a good fast, ADF has a nice rhythm to it don't you think

Definitely gillymary, I find. I get out of the routine too quickly on 5:2, I find the discipline easier
Re: The ADF Tent

Oh yes @gillymary there's now a I could go back to 5:2. Too much temptation for me! ADF is just perfect...but each day you look forward to tomorrow

How are we all in here today? I have had a low carb day today and managed to avoid sugar cravings, that should be tomorrow if all goes as expected!
Just having a fetta salad for dinner and maybe an Atkins bar later. I am also daily weighing again which I am not totally happy with as it has the capacity to ruin my day!
Going to try and get a VERY early night as I had a shocker of a night last night, lots of dreams of work

Debs, good luck with your plan :clover:

Bean, I see you have a shiny new number :like:

Gillymary, enjoy your 'run'

As for me, well I'm Struggling tbh. I'm so worried about hubby and the whole family/work thing - which is so complex and traumatic as to fill pages so I won't even start :frown:

Then, to pile on the misery, I've been bitten a few time and have found some fleas, despite me regularly using flea drops from from the vet on my cats  I am one of those people who are a big magnet; nobody else in the house has been attacked! I've only found a few critters but of course now I am deep cleaning from top to bottom and washing everything that isn't nailed down. In a ten room (not counting bathrooms) house spread over three stories, with four people's 'stuff' to shift so I can get to every nook and cranny as critters like skirting boards... To make matters worse, hubby can't really help because of his sciatica :frown: I am so tired (neither of us is sleeping well) and thoroughly miserable. I've failed two fasts in the last few days.

Oh no winsome, huge hugs to you. Really sorry to hear you are having a tough time of it at the moment. I'm not surprised if you can't manage to fast at the moment, maybe just 16:8 or whatever you find easiest but don't stress. That is one thing you don't need with everything going on.
We are all here to lend a helping ear and shoulder if you need it

Sorry to hear you're having a rough time @Winsome and horrible dreams @Debs. You two sound as though you're both rather stressed at the moment. Wish I could help you both. Here's a hug anyway to let you know I'm thinking of you.

Bean xx

Dear. I don't like seeing all this sadness gals.
@Winsome my sympathy is with you as I'm always the insect magnet in my house. Fleas, mozzies and midgies. I regularly spray the whole house just to be sure.
And @Debs I'm doing a little experiment. Testing my wee every two hours to see how long it takes to hit ketosis. 12.30 saw a mild positive. Whereas 10am was a definite negative.
Watch this space.
If all goes well it will be full on purple before bedtime.

I've just been given a buttery shortbread. It keeps looking at me.

Oh I meant to say, @Winsome. When we had Mr Boo (our lovely black cat) we had a session of fleas. We were advised to place bowls of water near warmth, I think. That way it draws the fleas to the water. I think it worked quite well for us...but I do sympathise. On top of everything else, the last thing you want is fleas!

Bean
