I know how you feel@Julieathome,it can get overwhelming on this journey when we have a lot still to lose.
Thats why i wanted to start this thread,so we could keep each other motivated on our long journey
You have to hold on to the positives..the main one being, you lost enough to get the surgery you need and 40 lb is a massive amount to have lost ..but i totally get the " pain and frustration" angle as i too experience this on an everyday basis..we're only human and it WILL get us down sometimes. Try to put those pressures on hold for today tho and just enjoy your birthday celebrations! X you can eat and drink whatever you want today..birthday goodies contain no calories! X
I reckon I have about 20lbs to lose and after 5 fasts cannot see much difference. I am on the verge of giving up and buying some size 14 jeans and saying ' what the hell'. I find fasting quite easy but just want to eat for no good reason. That is why this tent is good, we have the same struggles.
Bob i echo yr words completely but in my case i'd have to say i have about 42 lbs to lose ( and still wdnt be slim but could settle for that happily) and i would have to say What the hell to buying size 20
Its all relative tho and yr size 14 is as maddening to you as my size 20 is to me..
I too find fasting fairly easy, most times anyway, but just want to eat, can't figure out the reason except i enjoy eating!
These are hard struggles we have..they affect us each and every day in a variety of ways
and thats why i wanted to pitch this tent coz the title to me speaks volumes of that day in day out reality i live with  xx
Just to make you both feel better @bobshouse and @candicemarie I need to lose about 8 stone :( There that makes yours seem like a few grams. Keep ya chin up girls
Thanks for that Phil. Hope your weight goes down quickly.

Thanks bobshouse its going up instead of down at the mo. Hopefully it will reverse again soon
Thanks @philxjr for your kind words!
I know eight stone is a lot to lose, but you guys generally lose a lot faster than the girls!
I think youre just having a blip and may be holding onto water just now...
hope you get a good reading next time..but like i said on the "today fasting" thing, your tape measure will often be more reassuring than the scales as the scales can fluctuate so much..they are sooooo fickle!
I ve stopped weighing for a while, i get too invested in it ! X x
Hi Lardy legs checking in

I've not had a loss this week, weighed myself this morning no change. I took a load of measurements this time but haven't had time to check any difference with them yet, I will do them tomorrow. Not had good fast days, I am good during the day then let myself down during the evenings. Hubs handed me a portion of Bournville Jamacia 1/4 of a bar and instead of saying no thanks I scoffed the lot, that was Tuesday wrecked. Thursday a bottle of red appeared and we finished that between us, that made me want supper, cheese and crackers
@CandiceMarie I saw in the venting tent you are at the same weight as you were in November, well I can beat that :curse: I have gone back to Feb 2013 when I joined the forum, one stone on and a waste of 15 months
Off to work now, and its the weekend again  must try harder on Monday. I really don't know why I am bothering next week cos I have a weeks hols coming up the week after
Keep the faith folks, we will get where we want to be one day

LL x
Hi @chriso57 wow can you still get that cadburys Old Jamaicy chocolate?
Ok not great about the stone back on but its not a waste of fifteen months really is it..
damage limitation at least..say it was feb 2013 and you DIDN' T start 5:2 and lose a stone..instead you just went on your merry way and put on TWO stone..
even tho in reality you've lost and put back a stone, youre still a stone lighter than you might have been! If you can follow that
PLUS,you have given yourself the health benefits of 15 months fast and repairs.
I dont know what the answer is to losing and maintaining weight loss LL..I have lost many stones over the years but its always gone back on and more.
Anyway if you do a good next week of 5:2 before your hol, you' ll feel better even if you only lose a lb or so..
thats what i love about 5:2 - post fast i feel lighter even tho i get a shock then when i look in the mirror and there's old Trunky Legs looking back at me as usual!
Have a lovely weekend..where you off to for yr hollybobs?
X good luck with the measuring :like:
Weird week where we all gain regardless of actions ... Weather affecting us do you think?
Hi @CandiceMarie you are right o wise one, it was November when the rot set in, birthdays then Christmas came along and I couldn't get back in the zone, I was a bit surprised how much I piled back on though in a short time.
I will admit to eating more carbs, went back to having bread everyday, not good for me.
I will be having a health check next month so we will see what the damage is.

I am off to Ichmeler in Turkey on the 22nd so I have time to get three or four fast days in.

Have an enjoyable weekend. I am off out tonight, and tomorrow night and Sun night, no wonder I need to fast on Mondays more like drying out

LL (chris) x
I still look, feel and am fat,but quite pleased with self today...first feed day in a while that i havent gone calorie mad
Have had 1000 cals so far,400 more to come for dindins....will make it an under TDEE day today.
Can't remember the last time that happened, so am giving self a big high five and pat on the back..both of which are anatomically impossible,so just doing them in my head!
Well done you, polish the halo!
Well done @CandiceMarie on being under your TDEE and on your first back2back hope you managed it
I'll probably do Weds/Thurs to repair a little of my holiday damage still stuck at airport with a four hour delay with children crying and tired poor little mites
So good to have you back @Sue.Q x !
