Glad to see you so jolly, @CandiceMarie. Now get thee to the insomniac tent! Or, better yet, go to bed!
I've been to the IT already @wendyjane!
Unusually for me i fell asleep soon as i went to bed elevenish
Woke up about 12.45 :( hoping thats not it for the night! X
Probably warm herb tea in a dark room would be more effective at putting you back under than the computer screen, @CandiceMarie

Not really a temptation issue, but...

About to go out to dinner for son's birthday. It's one of my favorite restaurants, so I'm already planning my (fast day) meal.

Big salad with corn and black beans and avocado and grilled shrimp? Love it!!
or
Grilled trout with veggies and mashed sweet potatoes? Also excellent.

Somehow when it's -2F, the salad doesn't seem right. But it's not -2F inside the restaurant, now, is it?

How to choose? And what if there's a special that's equally appealing...
No...@wendyjane used to lie for hours staring at ceiling waiting to fall back to sleep, refusing to get up,make a cuppa, read etc...but i STILL didnt get back to sleep..it's not that much of a problem now i am retired..at least i havent got a day's work ahead of me ..i will go back to bed in about ten mins, and try again.
Congrats and Happy Birthday to your dear boy!
I would inspect the specials or have the trout...enjoy yourselves! X
just catching up on a few pages here and I have to share - someone didn't realise mince pies could be frozen ...........my dear mum made some mince pies and froze some about a month before she died - my uncle found them in his cavernous chest freezer 12 YEARS later - did he throw them - no - he said they went down quite nicely with some custard and do you know what - I just felt a tiny bit cheated that I hadn't shared something my mum had made so long ago!
Aah i empathise @Madcatlady x that's so poignant x big hugs x

Had the trout! And half a cup of "enchilada rice soup" (sounds odd but was great). And 1/3 of a dessert. So not exactly my usual 300-400 calorie fast day. But I was good on Monday, and I think I'm allowed to be a little less stringent now that I'm a mainteneer.
We'll see what the scales say tomorrow morn.
Dear O Dear. This place will be my confessional this week.
My "Birthday Week" has started.
Pizza express for lunch, shared an Italian antipasto with my daughter, then had a legerra (less than 500 pizza with a diet coke. Soon will be having , half a steak (4oz) dauphinois potatoes, and asparagus for dinner. Might be a bit over my TDEE with the red wine. 900cals so far I know it's a lot of food but I am mindful, of it unlike this time last year.
Fast tomorrow and then Wildwood on Tuesday with the family. At least my fast days will not get in the way. So all good in my opinion.
Ah thats the spirit @carieoates you get into that Birthday Girl vibe!
You deserve to be treated like the Princess you are! Can i ask what or where is wildwood? X
Wildwood - It's just a chain which has opened in our area. We are lucky having Prezzo, pizza express and several other low priced and very high priced eateries. We don't have to travel far to get Cambridge's fare but it's great to have nice places on your doorstep. Just a bit miffed that I've started losing just before me birfday @Candicemarie.
@carieoates that sounds like a very good week- enjoy and have what you want and don't feel guilty :victory: :like:
Glad I'm not the only one who has a "birthday week". Just enjoy yourself and worry about the fasting later. After all, birthdays come but once a year!!

Bean
Carie listen to these wise wimmin and enjoy yr birthday celebrations
Life is for living and the fasting will take care of your birthday treats! X
Stuffed - just had roast lamb with yorky puds and roasties followed by plum crumble washed down with a couple of glasses of lovely red. Fear not - fast day tomorrow!
Fasting today and on top of my microwave there is a slab cherry cake and half of the very surprisingly delicious Chocolate and Beetroot cake.
