Re: THE VENTING TENT

Not diet related but OMG I'm SO fed up right now. Angry, upset and plain sick to death of the situation we are in with regard to family/business. GAAAAAAAH!!!

I'm seriously considering booking a holiday, drowning my sorrows in vodka or visiting the GP tomorrow and asking for some form of meds. It's insane and intolerable, and I'VE HAD ENOUGH!

Not fast rested either, but I'm just back from my first session with a physiotherapist and a very nice one he was. You know my wonky right leg where I though sciatica was the culprit have had me in such pain lately which has been quite handicapping. What did he think? That the hip is shot to h-l  and that is the cause of all pain. As if not all wonky things I already have was enough...
Ack, think I need to drink up my calories and then some tonight

Popped in to see what's up with my mate not-a-girl-Phil.....

Very sorry to hear you are having a rough time at the mo, Phil. You came to the right tent to vent!

They say: "To err is human....to forgive, divine" ......so I heartily recommend cutting yourself a huge slice of....slack, accepting that things have been a bit tough & that you reacted in a time-honoured way by eating (as we humans all do), then forgive yourself & move on (as we all do!).

No way are you in a minority! Rome wasn't built in a day....and all that. Grit those teeth & jump back on the horse! You can do it - and you are going to do it! But it's up to you how long it takes.......

Would also recommend some walking....if you don't already? We are coming into a nice time of year for walking....

Why not focus on the forthcoming wedding.....if you aren't already? I myself need targets to hold myself accountable! Maybe you do too?

One thing's for sure....we are all behind you & willing you on.....so stick with it!!

@Wolfie That's rotten news on the hip. Are you facing surgery now?

@philxjr Some people thrive on competition. For some of us (me included) it's doubly hard to do something when you are being measured against others. Try to separate your battle from hers; it's YOUR road that you are travelling. Hang in there and keep taking one baby step at a time.

Thanks to everyone for their hugs and good wishes. Yesterday was blooming horrible but hubby said something last night when we were talking, and that ONE statement has put me in a better place today. It hasn't changed or fixed anything, but he is right when he says "whatever happens, we didn't make ANY of this mess, and we MUST NOT lose sight of that." Funny how one line can grant you perspective.

@philxjr you can do it!
@Winsome hope things are calming down, sounds as though it's tough. ah, you've posted just as I was doing this. Glad it's a bit better
@Wolfie hope your hip can get sorted, pain is so draining.

What everyone says. Big hugs all round from me too.
Take a step back and look at your situation, try and see it through someone else's eyes and attempt to attack things from another angle.

Sorry @Winsome I didn't see your post yesterday. Oh I'm so sorry things are tough for you at the moment. As you say, its amazing what one statement can do for you. Hope its going to keep its momentum and push you in the right direction today.

Big Bean Hugs xxxx

Oh Phil @philxjr just read your "vent". Please don't worry about having a naughty session. You are definitely NOT alone there. I bet every single one of us on here has had a failed fast (or two, or three...) but you just get up, dust yourself down, and fast another day...simples!

Talking of naughty...I'm having a fish n chip pie from M&S tomorrow...and I can't wait!!

Sending virtual hugs to you @winsome - so sorry you are having a tough time at the moment.

Thank heavens for the venting tent, I say.

Take care of yourself & try to keep calm as stress is so bad for you xx

Winsome - at times life really sucks, that's for sure. I say as Inspector Clouseau
(and how do you spell that") when he resurrected poor Dreyfus - out with the bad, in with the good ;) Book a trip (Iwas going to before yesterday happened) have the local drink, read some exiting books, look at the horizon and try to do a little inner cleaning.

And yes, if the xray shows a bad joint surgery is a must. If not, heaven knows what to do....

Beanie - love your new avatar, your furry babes are so darned cute.

Well it's just little ol' me again, but I do have a venting need.
Got the xray results yesterday and yup - the hip is totally shot to h-l and there is almost no cartilage left. And here you might say - give me a new one then. BUT - hold your breath, I'm to young for a replacement surgery  :geek:  The thing seem to be that the hip prosthesis only last around 10 years and even though they can perform a new surgery then, it never get as good as the first one.   So my GP want to wait as long as it is possible for referring me to a orthopedic with the aid of painkillers and maybe (if the therapist think it's doable) physio....... Got a med called Citodon (paracetamol and kodein) but it's don't work 100%,not even 50 :frown: I must confess that I do feel a bit sorry for myself, this on top with everything else that ails me, I feel like I'm between 90 and 100 although I haven't turned 60 yet.
Sorry for the rant - group hug anyone
