Well done @P-JK, although I know you weren't actually playing! A valiant Aussie effort but the result was never in doubt. Robbins goal was fantastic, but Cahill's had to be the goal of the tournament so far. Chile played well again, I saw most of it, the Spanish have a lot of changes to make of the old guard!
Well, the biggy for me tomorrow am, haven't decided if I will wake up for all of it, but I shall probably wake up with nerves anyway!

Cant wait for tonight's game!

Can we do it? YES WE CAN!!

Fully agree that the Cahill goal is world class, sorry they have to leave.
Especially impressed by Chile, strong, fast, endurance and technical skills as well. Seem like they can beat any team.
As for this evening: the knock-out stage has come early this tournament. Hope England will ditch Suarez and co. (but I am afraid I will not put any money on that)

Yes, Chile have been excellent, very impressed. I have been doing a lot of sneaky viewing! I am not optimistic either for tomorrow either unfortunately.

Seems the crowd in the tent will be rather one sided. Any fans for Uruguay on the forum?
Come to think of it: how big is 5:2 / fasting in Latin America??

Well um, good luck everyone, kick that ball into your oppositions goal and make it count!
Is that the sort of thing?

Ohhh i feel SO out of place in this tent! But i thought you footie guys might enjoy this joke..

...I'll never forget how happy I was when I saw my missus walking down the aisle towards me.............

My heart was beating fast and the excitement was unbearable.

It seemed to take an age, but eventually there she was, standing beside me.

I gave her a loving smile and said,

"Get that trolley over here love. They're doing 3 cartons of Beer, for the price of 2."

I see my oldpal @AzureBlue wishing you luck so am guessing England's playing tonight? XX break a leg!..oh no thats the theatre isnt it! A broken leg not much use to a footy match  xx

Trying to decide where to watch it tonight - small pub, rubbish screen, full of people I know, or bigger pub, great screens, less people I know. Going on my own, so first one marginally more tempting.

Avoiding the pub doing fish and chips, as thats just too tempting (although why I worry about chip carbs when I'm drinking real ale, is a bit nonsense  )

I'm looking for a result from this match! (why do they say that? There is always some kind of a result even if it isn't the one they wanted!)

We usually go swimming with the local sub-aqua club on a thursday, where OH plays octopush (underwater hockey), but it's too rough for me! So we might record the match and watch it when we get back...though avoiding knowing the result before we get back might be tricky as we finish at the pool at about 10pm and have to drive through the centre of Worcester to get home and I bet there will be hoards of people celebrating/commiserating so we'll be able to tell!

All is set for the England – Uruguay showdown. The national anthems are played. And as one cricket commentator once said: “England is asking for divine intervention to save their Queen. That seems unnecessary. Their bid for the World cup however…”

OMG I can't bear this. Rooney header to post after free kick. 30 mins let's hope Suarez doesn't get hungry again.
