Well done again Nutty @Hazlenut20 - that's a terrific loss! I don't think I've EVER lost four pounds in a week (Ive definitely lost over four pounds in money - but that's another story!) so I'm so impressed - especially given that you've already lost so much - well done!
I would echo wholeheartedly what Nutty has said too! If you haven't already, why not give BSD a go? If you're a bit of a carb fiend (like me) then don't worry so much about your carbs as you do the calorie count - to start with. We're all seasoned fasters on here so do survive on 300 more calories PER DAY is pretty awesome - and easy! The more I go on the more I DO look out for the carb amounts - and avoid them like the plague. Giving away some of my Angel Delight when I am the world's BIGGEST fan is sensational! Amazing! I'm still flabberghasted now! Now if I can just cut out the chocolate...
But seriously, why not give BSD a go. Look at how it has dramatically changed our Nutty friend. Just incredible! And its the perfect booster for you seasoned fasters who are finding their weight loss a little on the slow side at the moment. Give yourself a kickstart.

hi dee @justdee

challenger no 6 here begging for a star :) :) :) yep, Ive lost a whole pound since I did my weigh in last week. to say Im pleased is an understatement. this is the first time Ive been this weight in about 7 years. woohoo

pernelle @hazelnut20 fantastic loss this week. 4 stars for you. woohoo :like: :like: :like:

@cblasz congratulations on your 1/2lb loss. a loss is a loss & great news :)

not sure if you are a runner already but I started running about 4 or 5 years ago by completing a couch to 5k plan. its a download on the nhs site. http://www.nhs.uk/Livewell/c25k/Pages/couch-to-5k.aspx
9 weeks worth of downloads. 3 runs per week getting you to run a full 30 minutes at the end of the 9 weeks. the feeling of accomplishent on finishing each run is amazing, especially when laura (the motivational voice on the download) tells you that you are now a proper runner :) there is a version on itunes available now that has 4 celebrities that do the voiceover. cant remember who they are at the moment but worth a look for anyone considering running.

ditto to what @nursebean says. why not give bsd a go. nothing to lose (except the obvious) & you might find it do-able if you just aim for a day at a time, or perhaps every couple of days to start with to get your body ready to do it.

after getting my head in the right space Im definitely back to being a convert :)

good luck everyone shelley xx
Oh well done @Hazelnut20, @johns and yes, you too [tag]cblaz[\tag]!

I'm not doing the BSD group full time, but three days a week I certainly eat in line with what they do (low carb, 800 calories or fewer -- I aim for about 750). I definitely agree that the success breeds success and that it's not as hard as it seems. I eased into it, and I'm glad I did.
OMG Pernelle @Hazelnut20 4lbs without even trying. A week of BSD will see the other 5lbs off, probably a few more too. Well done, 4 more shiny :star:'s for you. How has today been? did you do a full BSD day? Wishing you an easy week.

Well done Shelly @johns, here's your :star: , I'm sure you'll have the other 4 before the end of the challenge. Looks like you're back in the swing of things. Good luck this week.

Hi @cblasz, I agree with what the others have said about the BSD. When I first realized that Hazelnut20 was doing 800cals everyday (I'd never heard of BSD) I thought she was crazy. Coming off plan and doing what looks like a 'crash' diet, so not what this WOL is all about and something I could never do. How wrong was I? Because we're so used to fasting, the BSD is actually quite easy for us. Don't get me wrong, I've had a few difficult days/weeks, but I find it easier than 5:2. When you're used to doing 500cal days that extra 300cals can go a really long way. I have never set a target of doing the 8 weeks. I still don't think I could. I aim for 1 or 2 weeks at a time. Even that short time has changed my habits significantly. I say give it a go, start on a fast day and you'll find it even easier, because you'll feel like you cheated on your fast, but you'll be totally on track. :clover:
@justdee and @Hazelnut20 - it is definitely the 800 calories that made me nervous. Even though it's more than a fast day, the thing that makes a fast day doable is knowing you can eat more the next day!! I have to admit, I haven't really read about it much at all. I don't think it will make sense while I'm still on break from school, but maybe when I start up, I'll look into it further. I do need something! Thank you for sharing your thoughts about it with me!

@johns - I have done the C25K a couple of times now, but I'm still not really a runner! I just did one in April and did ok, but not great. I signed up for another one in Sept. to encourage myself to keep practicing. I started training again today. I started by running 1/2 mile straight and I did it. I'm going to just try to increase it by 1/4 mile each day until I get to the 3 miles. I think at this point it's more mental than physical!
I don't know if you have breakfast or not @Cblasz but each day I stop eating at 8pm and don't eat again until 12-1pm. That means I have 800 cals to play with for just two meals - plus snacks! It is surprisingly easy! Honest!
Well, I haven't lost any weight this week, but nor have I gained. So I shall regard this as arresting the rise.
Good to read stories of success though!
As we say at Slimming World @Annurca there's no shame in a maintain!
Good morning everyone!
I must say I am SUPER DUPER happy this morning. At weigh in I discovered I've lost another 2 and a half pounds!! This is just unheard of for me!! That's TWO AND A HALF POUNDS!! So I got my 2 Stone Award (lost 3 in total) and am feeling on TOP OF THE WORLD!!
Bean
Hi folks, I'm weighing in at 76.8kg today, seems hard to concentrate on carbs etc when little ones are running rings round me these holidays! Haven't got round to counting calories since school broke up but sticking with 16:8 anyway.
Well done to our losers and keep at it to the strugglers like me.
Onwards anyway :0)
#1 here, confused and unsure of what’s up with the ups and downs. My weight today is 213.4, which is still within my challenge goal of 7 lbs. I started at 220.6, lost 8 lbs. in 3 weeks doing only 5:2. One week later I’d gaind 4lbs, and this week I lost 3. Weird.

I am still too new to try BSD, so I’ll stick here for a few more months. It will be nice to break the 200 mark.
It feels so slow when I hear of BSD quick loss.
Well done again @nursebean, congrats on 2st award (even bigger congrats on that really being 3st), you're doing great.
@Azureblue, you're still on plan with 16:8 then, that's great :like: . One of the best things about this WOL is that it can change to best suit our circumstances. Stick with it and I'm sure the kg's will drop.
Stick with it @grannieannie, you're doing so well. More than likely the gain was water. Has it been warmer than usual where you are? Maybe you're holding on to water if you're not drinking enough, I only say because I know I'm not drinking enough in this heat. I'm feeling all puffy and fat. Don't worry about how fast others are losing, the only thing that matters is what you are doing works for you and believe me you're doing really well on 5:2. I'm sure you'll see a new low soon. :clover:
Oh!!! @nursebean look at all those :star: 's :like: :victory: :drink:

Thanks @justdee Yes, it has been hot and very muggy. I might not have had enough liquid, good thought. I'm still losing liquid at the other end, and feeling grumpy. Thanks for the reminder not to compare, and do what works for me.
Good luck everyone. "May the Fast be with you."
Heehee thanks Dee @JustDee! I've never earned so many stars!
@Grannieannie I would highly recommend you start looking at your carb intake. Reducing carbs is the key to getting rid of naughty food cravings and eliminating the sweet tooth. I had a naughty day yesterday and ate chocolate and stuff (when, to be honest, I was full to the brim) but I didn't enjoy it. Today is the start of a new era for me. This is Bean talking. Bean LOVES chocolate - nope! Not any more. I've gone so low carb lately that I just don't have a need for it anymore. I'm SO excited!!
