Following on from the Christmas challenge and various other challenges we had last year, I thought I'd start the March equinox challenge (March instead of Spring/Vernal to be inclusive of the Southern hemisphere). So... the idea is to state a goal to be met by March 21, which is 9 and a bit weeks from now. It can be weight loss, maintenance, a commitment to be abstain from alcohol or added-sugar.

I will start. This morning I weighed 64.6kg. My goal is to finally get back to 63kg (or perhaps a bit lower for a buffer) and stay there this time!

Anyone else?

As usual with the challenges, I will add people to this post as they join up. Keep us updated with your progress by posting in this thread.

Good luck everyone! :clover: :clover:

Thanks @Maryann, I'm in, this challenge has my name on it.
I'm 6lb from goal and would like to be in maintenance by 25th March when I go to Florida.

So 6lb to get me to a healthy BMI 11stone 11.
Thank you.

Count me in please @MaryAnn I would like to get down to 10st which would be a loss of about 10 lbs - doable I think :like:
Re: March Equinox Challenge

Thank you for starting the challenge @MaryAnn.

I'm gonna go for a very achievable 72.5k Libra trend or a range of 72.0 to 72.9.

Currently at 73.5kg. DONT ASK!

Dont wanna see 73 again! MY final final goal has been changed to a range of 70.5 to 71.5 which is a range that im very comfortable at after much consideration. I know once i went for 69 and whilst i saw 69.3 last April but havent been able to stay under 70 since and decided not to push it. If i can tone my arms, legs and stomach it will be perfect to be just over 70.

For me with such a stable weight a 1kg drop is actually a challenge.

Let's see what we can do!

I need a challenge. This time I'm going to be sensible about my target. Setting ridiculous goals demoralise me and I give up.
Soooooooo.....
I now weigh 13s 2lb
I would like to weigh 12s7lb by March
= 9lb loss!
Are you in for a challenge @justdee? x

I haven't done a challenge for a long time because I always failed them before but here goes for a big effort for this one. I'm currently 11st 7lb and I'd like to aim for 11st 2lb.

Thank you so much for starting and hosting the challenge @MaryAnn! It will help me wherever I am able to get to with" losing weight whilst gaining health". I won't stress about it, just keep on with it, with more care.
I start today at 134.6 pounds, and aim, forever it seems, to be at 126 lbs or 9 stone (i.e. 8.6 lbs to lose)
5:2 is my way, and quite naturally do 16:8 on feast days.
Re: March Equinox Challenge

I reckon small, achievable reductions in weight in the period of time of just over 9 weeks is the way to go.
Maybe if you are just starting to fast, you can set bigger losses like 2kg or something, because those first few kilos are quick(er)
Re: March Equinox Challenge

I'd like to join - my challenge is to remain weight stable within my range of 105-110lbs (surgery on my left knee is scheduled in Feb. so this may be a challenge in itself).
Re: March Equinox Challenge
14 Jan 2015, 12:11
Hi@MaryAnn, I would like to join the challenge, partly because Mar.21 is my birthday and mostly because I want to get below my goal of 140 (10st) which I got to for one day in the Christmas Challenge and then popped up 4-5 pounds which is where I am now.
So that's it, my goal is 9st 12lb ( 138lb) to give me some wiggle room and finally commit to maintenance.

Thanks Maryann!!

I'd like to join, but will set a modest goal as the scale has not been my friend lately! My goal is to lose 5 lbs during the challenge. More will be a bonus!

Thanks @MaryAnn I'd like to sign up for the challenge please.
My aim is to be the same weight (at most) as 22nd March last year ie 58kg. I was beginning to struggle with maintenance then, and in fact was on a very slippery slope! Since halting the weight gain by joining in with the Christmas challenge, I think that this will help.
Re: March Equinox Challenge

@MaryAnn can I join too please :-)
I've never done a challenge before I'm currently 9st 9 and I'd like to get to 9st 2 ...if I say 9 st I'll just jinx myself !

Like @carieoates I'm off to Florida but not till mid April and I'm aiming to be under 9st by then ( I'm 5ft2)

Count me in please @MaryAnn. My weigh in day is tomorrow so I'll let you know my start weight then. I'm going to keep it realistic and go for a 7lbs loss, with any luck I'll smash it. Thanks for calling me in @Karenm. Good luck everyone :clover: :clover: :clover:
