Thanks Karen

It seems that the fact I never diet before really helped to shred the kilos quickly. I take that as my body which doesn't need the armor he built years ago, it accepts that it needs less food to survive. It did all the work. And having a safe heaven to come and express my frustration and hopes helps a huge deal as well. It really a boost to know that some people understand the ups and downs of this journey and never judge you or are fed up with your weight stories as it would have turned out to be if I could only talked about it to my family and friends.

And now I am a tiny woman with giant boobs

If you put a comma * , * in the weight box, the progress tracker may think you are inputting four thousand, as we British use the comma for thousands, and the full stop for decimal points. So try putting the number in with a full stop in the decimal place.

OH Oh wow! What an amazing achievement and story Manderley! Now you've declared your magnificent loss are you going to be very brave and post a pic of your fab new body to inspire us even more?

Wow @Manderley, you tiny, tiny person :like: :clover:

Confess I haven't read all the thread as I haven't got quite as much time to surf at the moment, did you loose all your weight on 5/2 ? Apologise if this is already in the thread

As you are carrying on with the fasts, are you upping the cals on these days or eating more on the feasts to counteract loosing more weight ? Whats your plan ? :clover:

Well done

Manderley WOW and what a long way you have come.

I have always thought you very brave as to how you have approached the forum as a place to share your thoughts. You have been inspiring to us on so many levels which shows you have remarkable strength and courage.

Thank you because if you can do 1/2 your body weight I can persist and knock over my remaining extra kgs.

Am also loving you seeing your pretty you. I so wish for you to find your dream job as well

@Julieathome thanks, I'll try later

@callyanna A bit early for that. I can't explain why but there is a gap between the way I see myself and the way I look. I still hide behind clothes way too big for me, even 2 or 3 sizes too big. Don't get me wrong, I am feeling absolutely great, it' s just that I still don't realize how much my body changed

@Minigill I began to diet at the beginning of February. A traditional diet, and I lost a good average of 4 kgs a month but, in june, I was completely bored with it and was about to give up when I learned about 5:2. I already had lost about 15kgs with lean meat and steamed veg everyday except on sunday when I had a "normal" lunch

On my fasts I never go to 500 cals, only eat for dinner steamed vegs and lean meat or fish (even sardines, I love sardines now) or I have a big soup (750ml to 1l).

On my "normal" days I never go for more than my TDEE, around 1200 cal, and if I have a big lunch on Sunday I never eat for dinner.

One of the big boost was when I began cycling everyday. It made a big change for the best even if it was hate at first sight

For the future I will keep fasting, at least twice a week because I NEED it. Nothing more, however, no 16:8 for example, but I'll stick to the fasts and eat more calories on the other days than I eat now

Thank you so much @gillymary, the focus next year will be on finding a job even if I don't have a clue how to "sell myself"

I think I needed to be naked for it to work. As I knew what made me gain weight, an emotional incident, and how stress made me put on weight as well, it had to go. Not that it's easy, thought....

And it's a good thing, sometimes, to be an Aries, stubborn and don't let things go easily

@Merlin I am thinking flambéed prawns and mascarpone cream

@manderley just spotted this this morning!

Incroyable!

I think what you've written sums up what 5:2 is all about ... Reinventing yourself, and you have certainly done that! A bit like a butterfly emerging from a chysalis, and you are just pausing now to let your wings dry! Maybe we should rename you 'Papillion' ... :victory:

All good wishes for a wonderful Christmas and New Year! :clover:

@MaryAnn, please don't cry, I always have weird reactions when people cry....

@Silverdarling, papillon, I like it, even if I am seeing the big fat one from "a bug's life" I don't remember his name....

Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year as well (I was looking if there was the same way to say "fêtes de fin d'année" like we have here but it seems there isn't,not really anyway) :clover: :crossed:

I second everything that's already been written Manderley!
one word I think sums it up for me, A.M.A.Z.I.N.G :-)

From one Aries to another, I hope somehow I get the staying power and determination you have shown on your journey!!!

Yours is truly an inspiration to all the 5.2 ers of this world :-)xx

Thank you all for your kind words from the bottom of my heart

I see that as a team effort as I could never have done it alone. So it's my victory but also yours and my beautiful beautiful man who has more faith in me that I tend to have in myself  :victory:

Tried to put the weight on my tracker, with commas this time, but it still doesn't work. No worries, it's a weight I won't forget anytime soon

No plan to go back on the scale before the 26th or 27th to not put any pressure. It's not as if I had a lot to gain and I don't want to go on a binging road.
Re: After 10 months

Fantastic achievement @Manderley
I do hope you will be brave enough to post some pictures for us...

Re the tracker, you have to put your weight in kg in one box and the grams in the other box so if you weigh for example 55.1kg, put 55 in the first box and then 100 in the second. Don't put commas or decimal points in the first box! It's strange I know, especially as the waist and body fat boxes allow decimal points.
