Hazelnut, it sounds as though have had a watershed moment, I loved your account of the tea, you must feel so proud of yourself!
I know what you mean about 'old fat' CM, it feels as though I have been gaining and losing the same 6kg for the last 30 years!! Where does it hide I wonder! I just imagine it sat in the top of the wardrobe, sneaking in and out when I'm not looking!
Maybe this time?

Justdee, that is tough and I really feel for you. Some days I just want to eat everything in sight and that isn't nailed down. I try and gorge nuts and cream when I get like that to avoid hitting the sugar. My sugar cravings have decreased but I still get ravenous frequently. Interestingly I had 1250 calories the other day and it felt like a LOT of food!! I rarely stick to 800 cals tough, it is usually nearer 900 as I have to factor in my milk for tea. I will NOT forgo tea for anything!

I shall loosen up a bit when we go to Georgia next week but I am hoping the hill walking will offset the stodge! Think dumplings and cheese filled bread. On second thoughts, don't

I am just over 9 pounds down despite a few lapses, they are like waving goodbye to old friends! I always think of the Adipose in the Dr Who episode when they all run off to the spaceship!

Hey! I'm back!

Sorry for my disappearance but I have struggled to get on this new site - which is lovely by the way (thanks Moogie!)

Anyway, just wanted to say that I am now at the lowest weight I have bean since I was in my twenties (I'm now 47!) On Friday i weighed in at 9 stone 13 - I never thought I'd be 9 stone something again - ever!! I'm over the moon!

I have a new job too (4 hours a week as a receptionist) and I'm off to Canada to spend time with my sister, my brother-in-law and gorgeous toads (my nephews) - everything is really looking up and I am SO happy!!

How's everyone else doing?

Bean

Blimey! 7 stone 12?!! I've never bean that - ever!!
HOWEVER - what makes you think you'll never be that again? Especially now you've found the secret key. Remind everyone how much you've lost in just 7 weeks!!
Can't wait to see your results at Christmas!!
Bean
Hi everyone, Phyllis here( the artist formerly known as MountainMyst) I finally made it back on the forum, I just had to set up a new e-mail address, change my name and I will not go into all the other machinations.
I am so happy to see all the success stories. Hazelnut, I could just picture you strolling around in your snazzy outfit. Glad to see the growing confidence and ease. Good for you!!
Beany and Candy, I am so excited for you both! Getting skinny you are. :-) Beany when do you leave for your holiday? I know it's getting close.
I am afraid I haven't caught up with all the thread, but just wanted to offer encouragement. After your eight weeks, it is possible to continue a lower carb diet and add a bit more calories and carbs and still lose weight, and not endanger your health. You will find that some days you eat more than others. I have days that I eat more carbs and others that I eat very little. I just stick with the grain free and am finding it pretty easy. Of course I have been doing it for over a year, it does get to be second nature, I think.
Wishing everyone a great week. Phyl

hello bsd family :)

have had a busy few weeks so sorry for not catching up with you all.

dee @justdee Im here with you. hope your bsd new journey has started off well. let us know how you are doing. Im like you. back to my old ways since the end of the challenge although not really gaining. hovering around the 11 stone 3 lb mark which is fantastic for me & Im absolutely fine with that. Im not pigging out big time but am eating what I fancy when I fancy it. it has been nice to have chocolate but when I get up for my early work shifts & my trousers are feeling a bit tight I reign it in a bit & have a sensible day. have started running again too. really need the escape at the moment as I might have told you that daughter had moved out to move in with boyfriend a few weeks ago. well, work situation changed for the boyfriend which meant it was difficult for daughter to get to work as they had different shifts so both of them have moved back here. & now, last weekend, daughter with grand-daughter, left waste of space boyfriend & have now taken up residence in our front room.

oh to have somewhere to escape to :)

pernelle @hazelnut20 looking good sweetie :) bet you were chuffed to bits with your comment. how lovely. bet that put a spring in your stride :) go girl. bet postie will be mentioning your new "glow" too.

& to everyone else doing brilliantly. a very big well done. will try to post a bit more often now that Ive got to grips with the new site & updated my password.

bye for now. shelley xxxx

Oh Phyl! Could you not have chosen a shorter name?!! @Phyllisblackdenney!!
Blimey, it sounds as though there are real problems at the airport this morning. I hope it gets sorted before I go. Not sure which airport it is but there are protestors lying on the runway apparently!
Phyl? I'm flying off next week. So this time next week I shall be on my way! Getting rather nervous now - but excited too! I'm expecting loads of Muppets stuff this week in readiness for my darling nephew's birthday. I'm guessing he's super excited this week, although its the second week of his new school - so who knows how he'll be this morning - doh!

Anyway, I confess I was naughty yesterday. just had to eat what I fancied (including trifle, chocolate bar, some cereal - without milk though!!) I hope I can rein things in up until Friday now so maybe i can get to 9:11 before my hols. As long as I'm still 9 something I'll be happy

How's everyone doing? Nutty? @Hazlenut20 how are you doing? Still BSDing?! :?:

Have a good day everyone - I'll be off to work soon (can you believe it?!!)

Hello everyone!

Lovely to catch up on all your news. I'm a little up and down at the moment - some things in my world are rosy - like the weightloss - whereas home life isn't - so I've been consoling myself somewhat with naughty foods. That said, I jumped on the scales yesterday (because it was Monday!) and I am the lowest I've been since starting this latest journey back in May. No reason for complacency though...because if I don't reign myself in now, I might do some serious damage to my good work. I'm giving serious thought to running a challenge - what do you all think?

I am going to Mauritius for a family wedding in the middle of November...so maybe I could tie the challenge in with these dates? No idea what to call the challenge or anything....but now that my youngest has gone back to school (yesterday), it feels like life will get back to something resembling normality...so I really should grit my teeth and get fully back in the saddle!

I shall be wearing a sari for the wedding ceremony (all the UK relatives decided it would be nice to join in the wedding theme as a tribute to my beautiful niece) - which you could say would cover a multitude of sins! But there's the little matter of a swimming costume...as we're staying in a hotel for the first week, before descending upon my sister for 10 or so days!

So - what do you say? Shall we go for it? Am thinking it might help a number of us, including my lovely friend Dee! All under the usual banner of supportiveness and accountability...rather than competition. As I've said on a number of occasions - I'm only in competition with myself.....brain versus mouth, tee hee!!

Sending hugs all round xxx

Ooh, I forgot to ask you all.....I've been madly thanking people for their posts on this new-look site...but can't ever see who's thanked who. Is it just me? I press the "thumbs up" icon...which says something like "thank so and so for their post"....then I press it again because I'm not sure if it requires it! I'm yet to see any thank you's anywhere! Is it a glitch???

06 Sep 2016, 15:18
Nutty @Hazlenut20 the thumbs up still works - but the person who has thanked is hidden at the bottom so you have to click on it (just discovered it myself!)
I think a new challenge is a great idea - it keeps us all on our toes doesn't it. I don't think we're quite ready for a Christmas challenge yet are we so I'm not sure when you were thinking of starting one. I will be in Canada from next week - for four weeks(!!!) but would love to have a challenge to come back to.

Bean
Yes please for a challenge @hazelnut20.
Have a great time in Canada Bean. We went for our first trip there in May and what an amazing country. Hoping to go back for our ruby wedding anniversary (4 years to save up!!!)

06 Sep 2016, 21:27
Yes please! I would gladly join the challenge -- assuming it's a challenge for "lose weight how it suits you" instead of strictly BSD. :-) I think a generic "fall challenge" sounds good. timing it to Mid-November lines up nicely with US Thanksgiving, and the traditional kickoff of the Christmas overeating season. Then I think a short challenge where we challenge ourselves not to gain weight in late November and December might be helpful LOL!

So great to hear about your successes, Bean, CandiceMarie and Pernelle! Oh Pernelle, I know just what you mean about feeling chic. I was feeling so svelte in my new black dress for the photos in Paris. I have to admit a bit of disappointment that the photos didn't reveal a completely skinny woman, but rather one who still has 45 to 50 pounds to lose. But hey, that's SOOOOO much better than a woman who needs to lose 125 pounds!!! Thing is I still feel so much more slender and sexy than I had in a very long time, and I think that sort of confidence really shows. Hubby agrees. And as I did my 3 mile walk this morning (with lots of hills), I thought about how I couldn't have handled this walk a year ago :-)

Ooh Queen @Queen56 I'm so glad you loved Canada too!! How exciting to be saving up for a special trip. What part of Canada did you visit in May? My sister lives in Montreal - I can't WAIT now!!

Tracie? @Tracieknits? I think you look absolutely gorgeous in your Paris photos! What a lovely pair you two look. Oh I really LOVE your photos! I certainly didn't look at them thinking hmm she needs to lose something - you look FANTASTIC!! I'm guessing you had a wonderful holiday - it sure does look that way!

I'm always up for a challenge and I think a challenge to lose weight regardless of method is probably the best way (weigh) and then people won't be put off but will want to join the wagon just to lose weight!! I can't believe we'll then be thinking about Christmas  - where did the time go?!!

I'm not working today so I'm just going to chill out. Mind you, my sister has just emailed and I'm already booked in for babysitting - just TWO DAYS after my arrival!! Doh!!

Have a great day everyone

Bean
(Just a test to see if I can post on this topic)
Hi Bean we did the whole tourist thing. First we flew to Toronto for 3 days (Niagra and loads of city site-seeing), then flew to Calgary where we joined an organised tour. Onto Banff (my fav place), Jasper and then onto the Rocky Mountaineer to Vancouver and then onto Vancouver Island. So many fabulous sights, every day was superb. Add into that great beer, food, company and brilliant service the whole trip. I could go on... And on...
Have a great time in Montreal and enjoy your time with your family X
