Hi there,
Been away in the land of carb and cheese but back on the wagon now. I have read back and see that everyone is doing so well which is brilliant!
I only managed to add a kilo back after a few days stuffing down dumplings and cheese stuffed bread in Georgia, probably helped by climbing up to a glacier twice, a total of 85kms and apparently 942 flights of stairs according to my darling iphone! It was high anyway and I got a bit of altitude sickness, but the views and mountains were worth it. I shall have a blog update very soon.
I've joined the challenge to keep myself on the straight and narrow too.
SJ, if I may be so formal, I too drink gallons of tea every day and couldn't survive without it, although mine is more builders tea. I say whatever gets you through the day! Even when I have done a complete fast I still have my tea, life is too short not to!

Right there with you on the tea front @debs - from the start, it has been non-negotiable! I'm not giving up tea for anyone or anything! Whenever I'm hungry (which, having lowered the carbs so significantly since May...is mercifully not too often) on goes the kettle! When I'm bored, on goes the kettle. When I don't know what to do next, on goes the kettle. The kettle is my friend!
Have a great day!
Have a great day!
@debs builders tea for me too which i allocate 50 cals per day to,but poss its more
Wow amazing those climbs you did!! Respect! I'm puffing for tugs after two flights stairs
How is everyone?? I' m still plugging away..day 78 today of 800 cals/ 50g carbs....need to get weighed as havent done so for a week.will report back! My doc is admiring of my efforts and is pleased how much better my bp results are. She is cautious til we get blood tests results back, and not too happy about the longterm 800 cals but admits she needs to read up on bsd x

@debsWell done for hanging on in there. Everyone is doing so very well, but ``I'm really struggling. I'm so stressed at the moment I'm just not eating properly. Advice anyone?
Hi @rawkaren so sorry youre struggling x
not surprised tho,coz when stressed, i think BSD might be just a step too far for me.
You always work so hard too so 800 cals not much to get you thru a working day
Ive always admired how you cope with 5:2 so maybe you should just do that ..you are a seasoned faster and as long as you dont go mad non fast days it might be a good option for now.
or just some form of damage limitation til things get a bit better? Eating to yr tdee or 16:8... Or yr own version of BSD allowing extra cals/carbs ?
I always think of you when i hear mention of bulletproof coffee! Do you still have it?
I hope things pick up for you and the stress passes..the word stressed is desserts backwards so no wonder we need a little something at such times!
By the way have you heard of a low cal low carb ice cream called Oppo? I think its in 3 flavours and available in Waitrose,Sainsburys and Holland and B. Folks on BSD forum raving about it as its such a treat and can be included without doing too much harm to cal/carb totals. Xx sending hugs xx

@Candicemarie, it's great you have a sensible sounding doctor there! Let us know how you get on with your weigh in.
Karen I really feel for you, CM is right, just aim for damage limitation, it isn't as though you are massively comfort eating either. I can't do when I'm super stressed like you either.

Big thanks to everyone x cant seem to get the thank you button to work today xx!
It's really great seeing how well everyone is doing!!
Karen, I think sometimes we're ready to give it our all and sometimes we're just not - for whatever reason. When you're stressed out is not the ideal time to add the stress of a new diet. I agree that maybe just some damage mitigation and coast for a bit. Maybe reduce the carbs. When I am stressed and want sugar, I head for my full-fat, plain yogurt, with a bit of fresh fruit. It really seems to help me get over the sugar and carb cravings.

Hi @rawkaren
Sorry to hear about your stress - it does seem to be something a number of forum members face with their work and/ or home life.
Tracieknit's idea of having easy to prepare/eat good food to hand, such as yoghurt and berries, seems the way to go. Have a supply of hard boiled eggs. Nice cheeses. Good quality appropriately caught tinned tuna/salmon/sardines. I assume that preparing anything is too much effort? Do you have a good "juicer" where you can combine whole veggies and some fruit to make healthy smoothies, and add herbs, spices etc that you feel are beneficial. Some effort, but not too much. Microwaved veggies don't take too much effort. Eating fresh whole foods can help with stress. Remove the processed carbs from the pantry! Drink lots of water.
Are you doing any exercise? Can you get out in the fresh air for a daily walk - first thing, middle of the day, end of the day?
I am sure you know what will work best for you to get you through.
Best wishes and good luck.
