OK Dee off we go
Lets make the Tape Measure our best friend for the rest of the year  I will still weigh-in weekly and put into the tracker but as Caroline said that's a better indication of what's going on so if the scales are naughty to us we won't get demoralised I've got rid of all my ''bigger'' clothes but if you have a pair of jeans that are/were tight make them your motivation :star: :star:
I'm feeling good about tomorrows weigh-in as i've done a very cautious week, done 4:3 plus 3@ 16:8 + today being my last fast of the week aiming for my 5kg hol gain plus the other 5kg to take me to my interim goal which will roughly be my Half-way point  So Well Done on you for taking control now before you become any older and yes you will have bad days/weeks that's only natural but at a much younger age your skin will spring back I've left mine to late and will only get rid of this with surgery which I know my GP won't get me on NHS however that won't stop me asking/pleading/begging. Because I can't afford to pay myself, I know I'm painting a picture that's not pretty well its not a pretty picture at all and that is the TRUTH and if I can encourage you not to travel the same route I'de be a very happy person indeed
So first things first we now have Less than 8 weeks to reach our first mini goal :clover: Good Luck :clover: :clover: Sue

Good on you Dee. If its carb weight, you will probably drop it within a week as alot of it is probably water gain.

@SueQ. I'm looking forward to reading about how your 5kg's are going. I was on holiday same time as you and too scared to get on the scales when I got back. I'm weighing on Saturday for the first time in a month and hope to be at least the same as last month or I WILL CRY

Hi Karen I weighed me this time because I wanted to know what the damage was Lol coz when OH asked me what I've thought I've done I said 1st is usuall as I've a massive water retention problem no one believed my estimate so my scales were already set at KGS from pre/hol and I jumped on next day and it actually said 5.1kg  so now I want to know exactly what I can lose in 1wk/10days
My Fri weigh-in was 1kg down. However i've learned from this forum that whatever the gain it can't be all a fat gain so i'm not down+depressed at all just very curious :clover: earlier in year just as i began 4:3 i didnt weigh-in after a holiday but i feel loads stronger and able to deal with it now.
Will post somewhere my results tomorrow :clover: Sue.

Thanks and good luck on your weigh ins ladies. At least you two had a nice holiday to justify any gain. I feel more in control after Sue giving me a talking too. It's very much appreciated. I can't really speak to my family about it because they've seen it all before, I think they expect me to give up. That will not be happening. I'm fine on fast days so if it takes 3 f/days a week to help me keep control, so be it.
I have to say Sue, I'm a bit afraid of the tape measure since my gain. I hope it's gone down but I'm not looking yet because if I've gained there too, it might be too much for me. I'll measure when I feel a bit stronger. I managed a 16:8 yesterday, but it was Halloween and DD had a sleepover party. Goodies were eaten but not half any many as in the past. No more events for me now before december (only dad birthday meal, at end of month) so I should have a good month. Bring it on. I'll be looking out for your results, Good luck. :clover:

Week 8. Here we go again.
This week I started off stressing about last weeks gain. I did a 16:8 on Thursday and my first 4:3 (friday, monday and wednesday), I put last weeks gain down to carb overload and that was probably most of it, but this week I got my period a week or so early (very bloated) so I'm putting some of the gain down to that. I'm still a good few lbs up but I'm hoping to have a big weight drop next week, I've done some good fast this week and I've cut back on the carbs. I did measure my waist (belly button area) and had drop there but that has pinged back now I'm bloated. I'm still very happy with this WOL and can deal with the gains or slow losses as long as I know why. I'm in this for the long haul and I think I'll have to be. I don't mind, it beats any other eating plan.

Start weight 180lb

After 8 week I'm 173.4, that's another 1.2lb gain this week. I can handle it, but only because I think I'll have a good loss next week. Watch this space.

6.6lbs lost in 8 weeks. I hate the fact that the tracker is going the wrong way and I've now dropped below the average of 1lb a week but that's life, I'll get over it. :)

  Keep at it Dee and if you can do a similar week as you did last week well the scales + tape measure have got to catch-up so hang on in there and stay strong
You're filled up with water and that accounts for the gain and cutting the carbs helped me and should help you also.

Thanks ladies, I think I will do another 4:3 this week as it was really easy. Three days non-fastdays is just too many for me, it's hard to not go crazy by day three. If I don't do 4:3 I will do about 3 16:8s because I need a loss next week to keep me motivated. :)

Keep plugging away Dee. My rate of loss is less than a pound a week. I don't care if it takes me until next summer. It's a habit I want to continue. :clover: :clover:

Me too Karen, I'm quit sure I'll be fasting for the rest of my life. I just feel so much healthier. It's just that xmas is on it's way and I'm keen to have lost a stone by then. I'm going to see my family, I've not seen them since April.
Thanks for all your comments and support, you really do keep me going. Without you guys and this fantastic forum 5:2 and fasting would be a just a memory of another failed attempt at weight loss.

THANK YOU

Week 9
I fasted Friday and Monday this week. I was going for a 4:3 but Wednesdays fast turned into a 16:8. I must try harder. On Mondays and Fridays I'm fine, I know they are my fast days and I will not go over 500cals. But the 3rd fast is a different story, my head got the better of me, it tricked me into thinking it's not really one of my f/days. I think the 16:8 still did me some good and stopped me over eating but I will try again for a 3rd fast next week. (note to self: drink water before eating/giving in on a fastday).
I really need to start exercising again this week. I've been putting it off because I know it will affect my weight. I know I'll be getting slimmer even though the scales will say otherwise, I've just got to do it and remember the scales sometimes lie.
Well I seem to have lost most of the gain from the last few weeks, not as much as I would have liked but I'm happy it's on it's way down again.

Start weight 180lbs

After 9 weeks I'm 170.3lbs. That's 3.1lbs down from last week. I'm very pleased it's back down. I've got my fingers crossed for a new low next week.

9.7lbs lost in 9 weeks. I'm just over the 1lb a week average again, so I'm pleased about that
:)
Edit: I forgot to say my waist is also down 1 inch to 36, that 2 inches in 9 weeks. Happy days :)

Thanks Sue, I'll make that new years pact. I'm going to try and get on wii fit a bit more and go for a few more walks but will save the real exercise for the new year. :)

Week 10
My fast days this week were Friday and Monday, I wanted to do a 4:3 this week but again it just didn't happen. I'm going to concentrate on 5:2 for now and not stress about it. If I lose a lb a month so be it. I want it to be a life style and not a diet. I keep telling myself I'm going to do a 4:3 and then not doing it and it's getting me down so I'm just going to do what I can for now. I feel slimmer and healthier so I'm happy to stick to 5:2 for now. It's turned really cold here and I'm finding fasting a bit harder, not feeling hungry, just wanting to eat. I know that will pass. Because I don't drink coffee or tea (only water or milk), I'm noticing by the end of the day I've not had very much to drink. Sometimes only a couple of glasses of water. It's much easier in the summer when I drink loads. I must work on this. This week the scales said I've gained again but my weight through out the week is not rising as high as it was and my clothes are feeling looser so I think I'm still losing. Hay ho, lets see how I go. :)

Start weight: 180lbs

After 10 weeks I'm 171.3lbs. That's a 1lb gain from last week. I hope it's just water because I'm not drinking enough but we'll see.

8.7lbs lost in 10 weeks. ok it's slow but I'm still here and still smiling. :)
