Wow really inspired by your progress and that you didn't throw the towel in after the gain I've just finished my first week with a loss of nearly 4lb and. After reading this think I will find it a lot easier to carry on if I see a bad weeks results

Hi Supernoodle,

" you didn't throw the towel"
It came close :) But I decided to stick with the program and am very glad I did! I'm currently feeling very positive about the way things are going. I've learnt to give myself sensible targets (I'm happy to average 1 lb or so a week) and just be patient.

I'm finding the Fast-days far easier than the Feed-days. I monitor calories on just Feed days and aim to average around 2000-2500, on the Fast days I follow the bloke's recipes in the book.

The key thing for me is "sustainability" since I need to keep at this WOE for a long time (>1 year). So far this aspect is looking really good!

I too am finding the non fast days more difficult.
I could actually fast every day I think, but I know that wouldn't be healthy.
I too am counting calories on non fast days as my weight has stayed the same the last 2 weeks.
My big problem is constipation despite eating fruit, vegetables and drinking plenty.
I'm going to have to find a natural solution. I don't want to have to resort to pills.

Yeah, know what you mean about the constipation :-( My OH is also suffering along these lines. Going to try doubling the amount of water drunk tomorrow on the next Fast day.

So far Thursdays have been Fast days, but OH has gone down to Paignton to check on her folks, so its a Feed day. But I skipped breakfast at home this morning, then around elevenish had a "breakfast bap" in the canteen, bacon, sausage and black pudding hmmmmm! So to keep things nicely balanced I skipped lunch, but then got Double Whoppers with cheese and regular chips (hate saying 'Fries').... So as this Feed-day is now turning into a Feast-day, I think I'm going to pop-out and get a bottle of Merlot... Just gotta love this WOE!!!!

P.s. Tomorrow's now a Fast Day ;-)

Well in spite of yesterday's Fast day, my weight has gone back up by more than a pound. Still 4 weeks in and overall I'm averaging over a 1 lb a week loss...

My weight hadn't moved for 2 weeks, and to be honest I was beginning to get a bit discouraged.
This week I worked out that TDEE thing out of interest, and because I'd already lost 4 kilos.
I've tried to stick to around the 1400 recommended and the 400 on fast days, and have lost another kilo on the scales this morning.
Please don't get too despondent. I kind of get the impression reading the posts that people often stick or have a gain around the 4th week, and as we've been repeatedly told weight fluctuates so much.
We just have to have confidence, and take confidence from the members who have been doing this since the beginning.
If we just stick with it..it will work.
Good luck.

Decided to try and increase my level of general exercise, so yesterday my OH and I went for two x 1-hour long walks, early morning and late afternoon. Also decided to Fast today and make this week a 4:3 as a sort of one-off catch-up and see how it goes. But including Friday's fast, it will effectively mean doing ADF until next Friday (since Tue & Thurs are the normal fast-days for me).

I'm sure that'll get you moving, and I bet you felt great after being out in the lovely fresh air.
Good luck this week. You are doing everything right, so there's no reason why you won't succeed. You go girl!

"You go girl!"
Please don't tell the wife ;-)

I managed to go out for two walks yesterday (around 2 hours in total) and with the extra top-up fast day saw some pleasing results on the scale this morning!

Progress to date: 2.63 kg / 5.8 lbs in 4 weeks 3 days

A good weigh-in today! Have lost over 2 lbs in the last week.

However, some food for thought is that during the previous week the second fast day got shifted and I did a third as well (last Sunday). This week it was back to the normal Tue/Thurs fast day pattern. So for the last 9 days it's effectively been ADF. This was done to get things back on track and the weekly Avg is currently back up to 1.3 lbs.

Progress to date: 3.09 Kg / 6.8 lbs in 5 weeks 0 days.

I completed the first fast of the week yesterday, and whilst Friday is the "main" weigh-in day for me, I couldn't resist stepping on the scales this morning.. Glad I did, more than a pound off since Monday! :-)

The last two weeks I've been doing 4:3 (fasting Sunday as well as Tuesday & Thursday). The other change in recent weeks was to add in a brisk 25-30 minute walk lunchtimes in work and longer walks at the weekend. I've only skipped 1 day so far. I'm also pleased that the Average weekly loss is up to 1.5+ lbs a week. But it's been closer to 2 lbs a week for just the last few weeks. Interestingly I seem to have given up logging food on MyFitnessPal, but I think I learnt a lot from doing so for several weeks.

I'm feeling VERY positive and up at the moment

Progress to date: 4.08 kg / 8.99 lbs in 5 weeks 5 days. Avg 1.574 lbs per week.
