6th July 81.28cm

Loss of 2.72kg and 2.54cm from waist

Waist measured above navel as I'm high waisted, otherwise the measurement would include my hip bones.
Reached a goal in June, my BMI is now in the healthy zone!! :victory:

I have thyroid problems, underactive thyroid. After so many years fighting with overweight, it seems that I finally found something that works for me, and it is fantastic, that I have lost this much.

I am doing 4:3 and feeling good about it. Eating not that much on feastdays during the week but in weekend I allow myself to eat more and enjoy it without feeling guilty.

HAPPY :victory:
2nd June... 61.24 kg
6th July... 58.9kg
This month's loss is 2.34kg.

My waist (tummy button) is still the same!! I think I should reset the start measurement as my 'natural' waist. And take up abs exercises. Sigh.

5:2 followed, mixed in with 16:8 the other days. It suits my appetite and makes me more mindful about what I am shovelling in because if I flip that hunger switch early on I will be rummaging all day. If I wait till lunchtime I can easily wait again till dinner. Am still really enjoying it but very slow weight loss. I am still weighing daily and my lowest recorded weight has been 61.7kg, that was 10 days ago.

no waist or fat data etc available.
Thanks Caroline!

You will probably want to toss out the waist measurement this month as I changed where I measured due to bones in the way!

Happy FatDog July monthly weigh-in:

previous weight 1st June: 139.6 lbs (63.3 kilos)
current weight 6th July: 131.2 lbs (59.5 kilos)

previous waist 1st June: 31.5 inches (80.01 cm)
current waist 6th July: 28.5 inches (72.4 cm)

weight lost is 8.4 lbs (3.8 kilos) June - July
waist lost is 3 inches (7.6 cm) June - July

Gosh! Not so far off the 58 kilos I was aspiring to hopefully at the start of last month. This really is do-able.

I attribute most of this weight loss to the synergy between low-carbing and fasting; although my 'experiment' has only been running for less than two weeks, it would appear that the two approaches together are quite definitely 'much greater than the sum of their parts'.

With 4:3 alone I was shifting just under a pound a week; with low-carb (can only guestimate from feed days) I would probably have been losing about a pound and a half a week, perhaps a little more; with 4:3 and low-carb combined I lost 3.6 pounds in the first week and 3 pounds in the first five days of the second week = 6.6lbs (3 kilos).

Not quite QED but I'm sticking with it (I know others are getting losses of 3 kilos a month or more from 5:2 alone, but sadly I wasn't - nor did I when I tried this in the summer last year)!

I've been journaling this 'experiment' daily here with weights and calories / carbs etc. and the odd recipe: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=6427 .

I will probably do so less frequently after the end of my second week as I'm getting very little feedback (it's probably tl;dr), with a few honourable exceptions (you know who you are, thank-you), and feel as though I'm rather 'whistling in the wind'.

Onwards and downwards!! FatDog.

Have had about a fortnight of not fasting, or even 16:8-ing, just eating according to appetite and a bit of carbo-loading before parkruns. Current activity levels are fairly high, though, so there is still a slight negative balance of energy in/out. Getting improved times for parkruns...
