Re: ADF Attic (or DODO's Den)

Hi @Minsmum I'd like to say its good to be back...but :?:
At least we'll both be fasting together tomorrow. I bought a lovely plate from Padstow which has a shoal of sardines running around the rim. Its a great reminder of my favourite place and I'll be able to eat my ready meals in it and hopefully get the feeling that I'm eating a lot more than I am!
Hope you DODOs are having a super, smashing Sunday!

Sorry I didn't appear yesterday, my brain was mush! Anyway, for the first time in years we actually had pancakes...on pancake day! Oooh don't you just love them.! I tried them with Maple Syrup (as a shout out to my sister in Canada) but I definitely prefer lemon and sugar! Did you have pancakes Candy?
Anyway, d'you know, I'm starting to feel better and I wonder if its because I'm back on the fasting saddle. Whilst on holiday I just ate silly things; sugary things and I wonder if that has had some negative impact on me. Mind you, I'm sure my back problems didn't help, but I must say I do feel better when fasting.
Today is a fast for me. I've got some beef thing from M&S and my beloved Cheerios. I still have milk in my coffee...I'm just so crazy sometimes!
Are there any other DODOs who are fasting today or am I still out of sync?! :?: :starving:

Morning @Nursebean I'm fasting today. It may just be a 5:2 week this week due to half term socialising, we shall see. No pancakes for us last night, we went to the theatre to see Matthew Bournes Edward Scissorhand, wow, just wow. Truly amazing show ( if you like dance shows that is). We popped into TGIs first, haven't been there for years and years, but Min is a true carnivore so we chowed down on sticky BBQ food and enough ribs to feed a small nation. I had to give up half way through when I felt the meat sweats coming on, but Min and her dad did me proud!
Off out today shopping with Min, she has money to spend ( she has a weekly wage -assistant Sensei at her ju jitsu/ kickboxing class) so a day of carrying bags at Primani and H&M is in store!!
Tomorrow she has her two besties over for pizza and a sleepover, let the chaos commence. Then the Zoo with my sister on Friday. Minsdad is taking me away for the weekend, he refuses to tell me where! And Min is off to my sisters for some family time with her cousins. So a busy week for us!
Glad to hear you are feeling better, I think fasting helps in so many ways. As for holiday eating, isn't that what it's about? A wee bit too much c£@p??

How was your week @Minsmum? Are you ready to get back in the saddle yet? Image no surrender!
Well today is DAY ON! Anyone care to join me? Any newbies out there who might be tempted to try every other day fasting? Come on...join the fun!

Wow busy minsmum. Would love to know where you ended up for your mystery weekend. For a moment there I nearly considered DODOing. Just a moment. If I knew how fast the weight came off with you bean I'd seriously consider it, but without the hard cash numbers I'm a scaredey cat.

Yes, I know I'm a pain not weighing myself yet! Just be patient and all will be revealed. Maybe I'll weigh next week. Depends on how I feel!! Sorry Oatesy. I'd love to be more encouraging...but maybe that's why I'm waiting! I must say, though, I do feel better already, just one week back into the swing of things. I don't find it difficult either. Maybe the ginger cordial helps and the Cheerios to munch on in the evening. Of course, I'm constantly sipping water. I have to, so that part is super easy for me.
Why don't you give it a go anyway? Its only 1 extra day for you. You already do 4:3 which basically means that every other week you are a DODO! You could try it until you go on your hols.
Go on, go on, go on...

Hi DODO'ers. Anyone here who can report on results from continual DODO'ing over a sustained period? I'm a weekly ADF'er but thinking of going the whole hog.

Hi Karen @Rawkaren how lovely to see you in the DODO tent! I have been ADFing for the whole of this year...minus 2 weeks when I went on holiday and had a bad back! Anyway, I'd love to give you my weight loss details but I didn't dare weigh. I wanted to wait a bit. I'm planning on weighing myself for the Equinox Challenge, on the last day.
Having said that, I have definitely noticed the difference since fasting every other day. I feel slimmer and I think it helps with my energy levels. I would say give it a go. Its so much easier than you think, because if one day is a struggle you only have to wait until the next day don't you. At the moment I"m in the zone so I'm really enjoying it. This is the only way I can do it I think.
Bean xx

I'm back! Yay!
Well what a week, glad Min is back at school for the rest! Minsdad whisked me off to Hintlesham Hall for the weekend. OMG! Well he truly did a good job there. Our room was called Josephine and she was amazing. She had the biggest bed I have ever seen in my life, infact the bedroom bit was bigger than our living room at home. We had our own courtyard garden, too cold to sit out, but it was there! And the food, we dined on quail, lemon sole, smoked salmon, scallops and more. The canopies were brought out while we had an aperitif in the drawing room.........you get the picture, I feel truly rested and still slightly stuffed! Back on it tomorrow. Will we still be in sync @Nursebean ?
Well ladies who are considering ADFing @Carieoates and @Rawkaren all I can say is try it. I don't weigh myself, I go by the fit of clothes and they fit so much better. I feel better, I like the routine and honestly don't feel bad if I miss a fast or two, because I'll be back on it as soon as. I can't eat as much as I used to anyway. I won't harp on saying its the best you have to do it, you know what this fasting malarchy is like you do what suits you. It works for me, I feel better, I see it working so I do it, unless I'm being whisked off for a naughty child free weekend!! x

Oh @Minsmum? That sounds absolutely wonderful! What a lucky girl you were. It sounded so idyllic. Must have done wonders for you Image
Very well put too. Yes, after just one week of returning to ADF, I definitely feel slimmer and my clothes fit much better! I'd say give it a go. What can you lose? Weight?
So, you're fasting tomorrow (Tuesday) are you? Well blow me down if I'm not doing exactly the same...hoorah!!
