Re: ADF Attic (or DODO's Den)

Are any of you ADFers fasting today? I might only get in a half fast today since a friend is bugging me to go for a drink after he gives a presentation today. I'll try not to go much over 500...

Hello fellow ADFers just checking in seeing how you all are ( @Nursebean how's the green hair? ) and it looks like we're welcoming another to the tent @Rhonda Fingland Barrett and daughter in law hello :)
The fasts are going well this week, I don't weigh myself, I don't like my scales, plus they are broken, so I just kick them as I walk on by! But my jeans are a little loser which means it's all good in the Minsmum hood Yay :)
So black coffee, water and maybe a diet coke ( shock horror) for a lunchtime treat, I know how to live! then I may make a Hairy dieters chilli for dinner tonight.
I hope you are all well and shrinking x

Hi there @Rhonda Fingland Barrett how lovely to see you and your DIL in the DODO tent! It sounds as though you are ADF pros, so I'd love to hear your experiences so far! Its also good to finally have someone who is in sync with me! I always seem to be out of step with everyone and so end up fasting on my lonesome :frown: Anyway, if you fasted yesterday then I guess you will be joining me tomorrow for a wonderful Saturday fast!

@Minsmum I love the weigh you kick the scales on your way past! Very amusing. I have been reading Dr Varaday's book "Every Other Day Diet" and she suggests weighing every day. Every day?!! I did try it for a while last year but I found it too much. I think I'll stick with weighing once a week, although even that scares me somewhat. I did take my measurements at the beginning but I won't remeasure for at least a month.

I must say, though, if anybody is looking for an easy Fast meal. I would highly recommend the M&S "Balanced For You" Seafood Linguine. Many Alive! It was delish

Oh, and as for the green hair...it is now a sort of spearminty shade! Think I may have to re-bleach...doh!

Just checking in to see how my fellow DODOs are. Hope it's all going well, Sundays fast ended with a bit of a pizza Fest, not the best end admittedly but hey ho......no use beating myself up about it, I stuffed, it's over, fast today!
Had a bit of an incident with an exploding sausage the other day, I'm now sporting some rather attractive scabs on my neck and face. Still looking on the bright side they look better than the blisters that formed. Nothing that a paper bag on my head when I go out wont sort!!

Mmmm @Nursebean spearmint eh? I think now you should be known as green bean!!

Oh dear @Minsmumthose exploding bangers sound lethal. That must have been a scary moment  Glad you're ok though. As for spearmint, my hair is now a beautiful shade of white blonde. Mind you, like you, I had a rather bad experience with the bleach and thought I was going to have an anaphylactic shock. Luckily I had my hayfever pills and just had to endure a red face and neck for a few hours. I'm lucky. I've seen people with huge, swollen faces. In all the years I've bean dying my hair, I've never experienced anything like it. Think I will probably leave my hair alone for a while now

Anyway, back to DODO-ness. Yesterday was a good fast for me...and I still haven't eaten yet. Its so strange how the hunger pangs disappear after a while isn't it. I always thought if you were hungry that you would just get hungrier and hungrier...but that just isn't true is it.

Oh blimey is that the time. We've got the mighty Pegster coming round for a game of cards, so I better get myself in the shower...and fast!

...talking of fast...hope yours goes well today Mumofmins (d'you see what I did there?! )

Erm..bean..may i ask who the mighty Pegster is? X
Re: ADF Attic (or DODO's Den)

Pegster is "Peggy" an 89 year-old lady who pops round every Tuesday for a game of cards (Skip-Bo). I've just lost both games so am taking Pops out for a walk (Minnie is poorly today...sigh) to clear my head and relax in the sunshine. Yes, we have some sunshine over here in Fleet

Sorry to hear about Mins, glad youve got some sun though. Hope it clears yr headache.
My head's banging coz the man downstairs has had his telly blaring since Satday
I put a note thru his door yesterday asking him could he turn it down a bit..i feel today its even louder.oh dear, i hope this isnt gonna turn into a problem.ive had to ask twice in the past - both times he's turned it down but its slowly but surely gone up again :?: x
PS sorry guys, just realised i' m in the ADF tent and this isnt relevant x

What? You mean you're not doing ADF Candy?!
Your neighbour sounds like a right nightmare. When they build houses/apartments why can't they soundproof, them? It's not rocket science surely. Our neighbour is just as bad. Sometimes you really could commit murder couldn't you.
Right, off to bed soon. Ready for tomorrow's fast...doh!

What about ear plugs, @CandiceMarie? I know it shouldn't be necessary: he should turn it down and be considerate, but in the meantime.... I use them when the Forth Pub has really loud music or in the days when I had to go to school discos.
