Just stopping by to wish you all a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

We will have a quiet evening at home and I doubt that I will see midnight. I likes my sleep! I got up at 4:30 this morning, so I'll be ready for bed at 10 at the latest.

Be safe and have fun, whatever you are up to! :like:

I hope we can keep this thread going in the new year.

I'm in the US too, Southern Cali. In the midst of my 2nd fast day. Happy new year everyone.

Happy new year to the US.
Welcome to @Sirenofsleep and hoping your second fast day is going well, or finished well. Perhaps you could do a quick 'hello , this is me' post in the introductions, telling us a wee bit about yourself. You'll get a warm, international welcome!

Well, how is the first day of 2015 treating you? Hope you're having a good one! I'm starting the year off with a fast day. I'm saving most of my calories for an early dinner.

I'll have my official weigh in tomorrow and hoping the number is not too shocking! I had a fast day on Tuesday and have been trying to be mindful for the past few days. Whatever the number is, so be it.

Happy New Year to all and good luck with your plans for the new year! :clover:

I'm fasting today. It's good to see you all still checking in. I see there is a big deep freeze coming for us next week so we are trying to get out as much as possible before it arrives. We went snow shoeing yesterday when it warmed up to 8*f and will be ice skating on our pond today. I went shopping last night and found a new 0 calorie chocolate tea and I'm going to have on fasts days. Well, have a great day everyone.

Whew! Having a super busy day at work! Sure glad it's Friday and I have 2 days off ahead of me!

This morning's weigh in was the same as my last weigh in on December 20th. So......a few days fasting here and there have me showing no gain over the Holidays.....yay! Now.......to just get this "hard lard" to start to melt! It's been around for a long time and is reluctant to go away. :frown: I've been within 5 lbs of today's weight for the last 2 years. Sigh......I'm tired of maintaining at this high weight!

Hope you're all having a great start to your year!

Gearing up to start a new week. First full week of 2015...let's make it a good one! :victory:

I'll be getting back into my early morning boot camp classes starting tomorrow and also, tomorrow is a fast day. Shooting for Monday & Thursday most weeks. I'm hoping 5:2 is enough to make the scale move. If not I'll have to try 4:3 or ADF.

Had a quiet weekend at home. Weather is starting to turn very cold and it's going to be hard to go out early for boot camp. I leave my house at 5:30AM. Tomorrow I have to go to the Red Cross office for CPR & First Aid recert training with my work mates. I'll be glad when it's over....so busy at work and to have to sit there knowing what is waiting for me at the office...sigh.

Hope you have a good 5:2 week!

I'll be glad to start my regular routine again, too, Lori. Holidays are ok; we had a good time on Christmas and enjoyed NYEve at a classy cocktail bar with live jazz band; then dessert at a lovely restaurant on the way home --all in walking distance and home by 10:10 pm--just right for seniors like us. But missed too many exercise classes while the senior center was closed or the instructor away. I actually did two video aerobics routines at home today, just to relieve the monotony!

We're expecting extremely cold weather here in the East in a couple more days--your turn first out there.

Good Morning!

Wow, I had a miserable night. My stomach was not happy with me(ate too much yesterday), the wind was blowing like crazy making the house creak and I just had a rough time getting to sleep. It's going to be a long day!

Yes, Marybeth, we are in for the cold this week. I'm in central Pennsylvania, so just below you. We'll be in the deep freeze together!
Heading for boot camp in a few minutes, then home for a quick shower, get ready for work and head out. The morning will be spent at Red Cross doing the CPR recert and the afternoon at the office. It's going to be a blur! Don't have to worry about food today as it's a fasting day......thank goodness!

Have a good one!

Oh the wind was howling in Saratoga as well, and the temperature has plummeted.

We just bought our plane tickets for summer vacation to the Scottish Highlands and Paris, so I'm super excited and have a concrete goal to work toward.

Hubby and I have started our first proper fast day today - it's been a while. We had a really fun November and December and it shows in our waistlines >.< I made dinner last night, so that all I have to do is reheat it once Bruce calls to say he's on his way home. I really hate cooking or preparing food on a fast day, so this is my kindness to myself, having the food already prepared.

The kid is back at school, and I'm going to do a bit of housework, and a bit of knitting to distract myself, then some errands and light walking. I really hate exercising on a fast day, so nothing too sweaty.

It has warmed up to -15 here today. It was -18 and they are talking about it warming up to -4 by this afternoon. We have a wood stove and it makes the house nice and toasty. I'm debating about switching to a modified 4-3 with the 3rd day being about 1000 calories instead of 500. I tried 18-4 for the 3rd day but all I did was eat more in those hours. I'm thinking of doing 5-2 on Monday and Wednesday and on Friday having 1000 calories.

OMG Canoegal! I will not complain about the cold as we are no where near as cold as that! I'm whining because we may get to single digits overnight!

I'm with you on the 4:3 modification. That is sort of my intent as well. I will have 2 good, solid 500 calorie days and then work another "low" day in there somewhere. Painless, and I think it will help our progress!

Tracie...your vacation plans sound awesome! I love Scotland!

As predicted, it's a long day. It's 2PM and I've had about 150 calories. I'm beginning to get a bit of a headache, so must drink a big glass of water. I've been sipping coffee & green tea all day. Boot camp was rough this morning, as usual. I'm going to be ready for bed by 8 tonight! Hoping for a better night tonight! :sleepy:

Yoohoo?? Where is everyone?

Today is my 1000 calorie day and I have it logged into MFP to make sure I'm right around 1000. This week I'm doing 500 Mon & Thursday and 1000 today(Wednesday).

Not sure if the scale will be kind to me on Friday or not. Since this is my first week back into a full schedule of boot camp sessions, my muscles will be hanging on to water as they repair. That, of course, will be reflected on the scale. I have to remember that as I step on that dreaded contraption Friday morning!

Hope you are all having a good week!

Morning. I'm here. This time next week I will be heading back to California. I need an injection of sunshine for sure!
Have walked 3 miles already today but only on the treadmill as the weather is so dreadful here. I seem to have lost the excess pounds I gained over Christmas so I now just need to get my head down and get rid of what I gained in 2014. Am already working California hours so I have a few hours of free time left so off to prepare a nice lunch.
