Re: Are you 5ft 4 (ish)?

I USED to be 5'4 and a half inches (can't forget the half) - everytime some health person measures me lately i seem to get shorter and shorter - Arrggg that's a problem with my BMI - I'm getting shorter so i've found!!!
i'm just hoping to get from "obese" category to "overweight" at the moment, so i'm trying out for 11 stone ish. I'm from Australia so we are in KGS but i've converted it. :-)

*waves to Marie* I'm from Australia too so not used to feet and pounds but I believe I'm around 5ft 3 (161 cm). I'm not sure how much I weigh as we have no scales but I think it's around 85 kg. I would be very happy to be around 65; my ideal weight would probably be around 60 kg which I was in my early 30s but I'm in my early 50s now so would look much too gaunt I think. I only started 5:2 this week and have done my first two fast days and really feel this way of eating suits me. What's most important, it's sustainable in the long term.

It's great to have the support of all you lovely people on this forum!

I am 5' 3 and right now i weigh 11st 6lbs :frown: I started putting on weight 2 years ago when I started my new job :/
Before that, i used to be a healthy 9st 10lbs and my goal is to return to that weight :) But for my short-term goal I would be really happy being a 10 anything!

Ice princess. You can do it. I'm 5.4 and weighed 11.10 at Christmas. I'm now 10.10 so thanks to this woe a whole stone gone. I never thought it would happen and it's been so easy and stress and guilt free too. Amazing! Ideally want to be 10.2 but feel great now and had lots of comments so really pleased with my progress so far. Keep up the good work and keep posting.

Hello 5:2ers!

I'm 5ft 3 and currently weigh 11st 6. 6lbs down from when I started 5:2 three weeks ago! I would love to get to 9st 7, those days were so long ago! I was just reading over everyone's posts and somebody mentioned that they were settled at 8st 12 when they were younger and it jolted a memory for me, I totally remember being 8st 12 and being quite comfortable there and being horrified when I went over 9st! That seems tiny to me now though, one step at a time - I can't wait to see the number 10 on the scales at the moment, then down, down down to target! Amazingly, it all seems completely achievable! Come on!

I'm 5'5" and hoping to get down from starting weight of 13 and a half stones to about 10 stones 10 pounds. My target weight is a nice round figure (a lot like mine, presently!) of 10 stones so that gives me lots of leeway. Reading a lot of the posts I am surprised at how "thin" a lot of us are aiming for and think that it has an awful lot to do with the unrealistic images of women we are constantly bombarded with on a daily basis, in the media etc.
I have some health issues and that is my main motivation for doing this WOE but any weight loss is a super bonus.

Exact height and weight as me IcePrincess! Would be good to help each other out in times of hunger! Or the inevitable plateau that I'm dreading.... :frown:

5' 3" and aiming for 10st 6lbs. I am 56 and look too wrinkly any lower than that. It is heavier than the charts say but is where I am comfortable. It makes me size 10 comfortably instead of the uncomfortable they are now! I only have a small amount to lose now having lost 5st years ago.

Hello fellow 5:2ers. 5ft 5 and at the life begins age here with a starting weight of 10.9, but with more than an inch to pinch on the waist! Aiming for 9.10 with a possible push on to 9.7. Been going for 4 weeks now and currently plateauing between 10.5 after fasts and 10.7 after feasts. Not exercised so far whilst on 5:2, it's the one thing I haven't quite understood. If I do exercise do I have to eat more to compensate for the calories burned to stop my metabolism grinding to a halt? With the light nights starting to appear I'm hoping to be more active in the evenings after work to move the scales along in the right direction.

I'm also 5'4" and over the past 7 months have gone from size 16-18 to 10-12. Sorry cant tell you how much I lost as i haven't weighed or dieted for 30 years. Have reached my target size and now I am doing. 5:2 maintenance. I never expected to diet again but the 5:2 has become a WOL. Good luck to you all in reaching your target weights.

According to the Q&A on this site you don't compensate for the calories burnt through exercise. viewtopic.php?f=17&t=246#faq12

Its the exercise that stops your metabolism slowing down so no need to increase the calories! Remember that the the fast day calories are based on your TDEE (total daily energy requirement) so that includes all the exercise you do already, so you can't then increase the calories again!
