Hello everyone !
So, let's see....
My mother, after her fall last week, has lost one month and a half progress so, she won't leave the bed for quite some time. I am fed up with the situation but, hey, that's life, isn't it
My pc is doing some strange noise so don't worry if I disappear a bit
OH is still the most wonderful man in the world and our date nights are still really great and I really hope it will stay that way for a looooong loooooong time....

What a lovely, lovely day I've had!

A lie-in until 09:30
All morning baking.
All afternoon (from 2pm till 7:30pm) on the beach!

I had promised mil a cream tea today. She proposed we have it on the beach. Well we normally rough it but went all out today with a cake stand, pretty napkins, a cloth for the table etc. Such a fun thing to do. Before and afterwards the children and I were in and out of the water - which was the warmest I've known it to be here. Kayaking, swimming, sort of anyway; the water was pretty rough as there was a good breeze. Mil left at about 5:30 and the girls read while I painted the inside of the beach hut. We walked in the door just as hubby got home. I am now soaking off the paint drips in a hot bath, with a plate of nibbles and a glass of rosé

THIS is what life is all about. I feel truly decadent!

Happy Friday everyone. I'm floating on a mini cloud at the moment. Two more days at work and I'm on my holibobs, so will be here loads loads more. Hope @CandiceMarie and @Sue.Q don't tell me off for being a chatterbox.
Oh dear one of my chooks looks Oorf. May be an interesting day.,

We've been cutting down a tree on my property line that was growing into the fence - next day some spots start. Tried to tough it out. You guessed it, my first case ever of poison ivy. Got a shot in the butt, prednisone, cortisone cream, benedryl and calamine lotion, and I am still itching a day later.

Task for the weekend, figure out what it looks like (I sorta know, but never had to pay attention to it before) and go after it - properly dressed in full ninja gear!!!

@debbiejgb that is a lot of meds, hope you are ok.......... I had to look up poison ivy to find out more.....................nasty! Good luck with getting rid of.

Thanks @Lizbean! Poison Ivy allergy is one of those you can go through life without - or suddenly get it like me at 57 years old! Thing is, once you have the allergy, you have it, it will never go away. In some people it can be deadly. Now I have to be observant about my surroundings especially if I go hiking - or in this case, even in my own backyard!

Hello all just popping in it's Mins last few days at primary school, meaning she has a hectic social life, and I am taxi. Tonight it's the leavers BBQ, great weather, however I was late signing up for the bring a sausage list and ended up on the bake a cake list! Not to bad as I am a keen baker, NOT in this heat tho!! So several tray bakes later, the last of the 50 choc chip cookies are in YAY. That's in between sorting the car out at the mechanics, popping back and forth to the hospital (Minsdad getting his kidney stones zapped) mopping his fevered brow etc I'm just about melting. Not that I'm complaining about the weather. Oh and our service provider decided to turn off our water half way through the day. Not good when the dishwasher on,there's still a pile of washing up and Minsdad needs to drink to flush the stones out!!
Best news from the mechanic - no charge our mistake when we serviced your car last week - Result!
Cakes look and taste good. I had to taste test them (yay for non fast days)
Minsdad now semi pain free and snoring on the sofa.
And the waters back on!
Just time for a forum browse, shower then off to scoff some burgers

I am in South Devon at the moment-no heat wave here! Just warm and muggy.

As for me, i suggest anyone who can joins Toby Tavern website..
we both had massive lunch there..
( baguettes filled with tons of ham,salad..plus roast potatoes,Yorkshire pud ,stuffing (each),AND a huge icecream with choc flake ( to share) plus a cuppa each) ...all for less than £9! Coz they sent money off coupons for joining
Will deffo not need much tea tonight!

@CandiceMarieDo Devon a lot. We've been coming since I was a child, and am& Pa moved here about 40 years ago. It's a lovely county but I am more likely to see Tesco's than the sea when I visit nowadays, still manage some nice walks with the dogs though.

@merlini always think Clovelly sounds so nice..
And of course the Devon cream teas appeal! x
