Re: Who's missing????

Not sure what's going on here because I've not received the "Tag" from @Maggiee & @rawkaren plus one from @Silverdarling last week.
So Karen you're certainly no failure not at all you've the award to prove exactly what you are to this fantastic forum, if you've truly failed then I've failed on a far bigger scale with an even bigger amount of work
in progress/= 50lbs still to go just how long have I been saying that for?
Answer = All year!!!!!!!!
No one who keeps forum active actually fails its the members who go totally AWOL never to return.
Karen with so much going on for you all this year you're doing very well indeed, come on now let's win this battle you know we are going to come out winners in the end so let's help fate along the way.
Completely agree @justdee the campsite has got far too large, and I know certain people don't like me saying that the hangouts has taken most of the daily chatting out completely, there I've said it again didn't go down well few days ago and probably won't this time but @Debs said we're all allowed an opinion and I always speak my mind wanted or not, its those members who've provided the backbone of this forum and help make it GREAT.
I don't very often peep into buddies tents just occasionally popping in for a coffee, I'm not posting to my buddies on a daily basis sometimes couple of times weekly.
There's only so much to say each day in the Chatterbox thread but I do go in there most days to annoy @Candicemarie because that one has gone quiet lately and she's struggling to reach her numbers before passing on the baton. :clover: :clover: :clover: :clover:
Thanks Dee your post has bought a few familiar faces and names back out to say hello. :like:

I'm just back from holiday, so I wasn't AWOL, I did have leave to go!

Had a great time on the Isle of Mull, staying with an old buddy of mine. I skipped breakfast every day apart from the two days we stayed in a B&B on the way there and back. I tried to be mindful of carbs without denying myself a daily treat of cake. I don't think I over ate (much), but am prepared for the scales to read almost anything tomorrow morning! Watch this space...

I never did manage to get into the hangouts thing and have assumed that a good amount of quick chatting goes on there now, which is fine.
I have felt a bit out the loop but it's my choice so best just to get on with it. I've always been better at listening and writing (a bit) than talking anyway :0)

Hi, all! I'm here, too! I have found that I have started visiting this lovely site less often since I've more or less met my goal (which--to be honest--has been bouncing around a bit these last two months). I have settled in to a routine of one 24-hour fast a week (Sundays) and then some combination of the eating window the other days (usually 17/7, but sometimes 18/6 and occasionally 16/8).

After 11 months of fasting, my blood work has gone from high (cholesterol) and borderline (insulin) to normal! So even if I gain a pound or two here and there, I'm not too worried. I have also continued measuring and I am continuing to lose inches (well, fractions of inches, but they all add up in the end), so I'm pleased with that.

Fasting is my way of life now and I will continue to do so for the rest of my life. At least that's my intention. If I start to wobble, I come here to get motivated and inspired and I read articles or watch YouTube videos on IF, and I quickly regain my motivation.

O&D!

AHEM! psst! Not even going to tag you..coz You- Know - Who - You - Are..
Me being a cheerleader, i don' t mind if i never hand the baton over,so there.
All the Candy dance routines keep me in trim anyways ( so shut your piehole   )

@Carorees couldn't you arrange to have that @Sue.Q deported to the Isle Of Mull? forever?
Glad you had a lovely hol,Caro, and happy to see you again ( more than i can say for some people,no names mentioned ..but you get my drift  x )

I'm missing @Chickvic, @Domane, @RobMorris and @Pist1958.

However, I've got to admit I spent less time on the forum these days. There seem to be some very settled groups who've set up tents and I haven't made the effort to join them.

I check out a couple of pages of active threads ever so often and the 'maintaining this month' thread but even that latter one is quiet.

I'm missing some of the people that say the most infuriating things or touches a nerve with most of us either deliberately to stir up trouble or make us think.. or that they are just being honest.
You know who you are ..
nothing like a good forum "controlled" forum fight. lol

I tried to come back today, but it wasn't easy! I went to my favorites on my web browser, but it didn't connect through to Fast Day. I had to google fast day forum to find this page, and then try to remember by password (which had changed from it's original) Anyway - I did eventually figure it out but I think this could be slowing down some old regulars.

I have definitely been intermittent over the last 6-8 weeks too but still lurking!!

I love the buddy system - especially since mine is so helpful and kind even when I am AWOL  @Lizbean but I have to say I also find the tents a bit daunting. I never know whether I have to start reading at the beginning of the tent conversation (which can be 20 pages long) to get fully acquainted with the folks and that just takes forever. I also hate to say it but the new look is terrible to use on an iphone -n posting messages is really tricky as it randomly zooms in and out. Also it seems slower to me?! :frown: Sorry to the people who put all their lovely time and effort in - I do appreciate you trying to make us have a great place to cyber-hang!

I think I would prefer the Forums section to be the homepage like it used to be..(Sorry again)

Nice to see old posters though - I have been hanging around since Sept 2013 so recognise many xxx

I still lurk occasionally but I don't like the all white either - seems tougher on the eyes  I am kind of maintaining - more luck than judgement sometimes
I look at a few of the threads but kind of felt embarrassed when people were having a tough time losing the weight when it fell off for me :shame: I found it difficult to comment/be supportive when it seemed like I was being superficial - don't think I've explained this very well   People never said anything to me but that's how I felt - weird or what?!

Great feedback from us all - for @Moogie and team need in moving forward.

Buddy @spanner - there is something special about being a buddy - we are both within reach of our goal - though it seems hard to reach we will get there and maintain. x

@Sallyo how is the knitting going? My nightmare x
@Candicemarie thanks for asking about Poppa's 95th fab time, two days later he was admitted to hosp for a week, home now and happy. When he came home he did say- never send me to hosp again! Poppa is a cheery being but realistic. Hard one x

Best wishes to you all. x

@Lizbean: the knitting: I managed to get to the arm hole and it looked fabulous and I posted a picture on Facebook which was much admired. But then I had to start decreasing at the edges to get to the top of the arm. I tried it and undid it and did it and undid it countless times. Once I got to the top and it looked ok, but then I realised that it wasn't right and I thought, Oh well, it's not right but no one will notice. And then I knew that I would always notice and since I'd spent so long on it, it seemed a shame to leave it not right. So I pulled it out and tried again. I just couldn't get it right, so now I've knitted 3 rows of garter and finished it in stocking stitch. That will work as the main body of the cardigan is in stocking stitch. It had lacy arms. By doing all that I have really got to understand knitting a lot better. I know now that K2tog will make a stitch that slopes to the right and k1sl1psso will make a stitch that slopes to the left. I know how to make a hole. So I am now starting the 2nd sleeve with a lot more confidence and understanding and I think that's progress! Sorry to go on, but you did ask! That'll learn you!

I like having a buddy too. We talk through private messages. I like the tents too and only go into a few. I agree it is daunting to feel you have to read 20 pages before you can join in, and maybe you don't. The new forum is now quite comfortable for me but i no longer try to access it through my i-phone. That's not a bad thing as I was spending far too long browsing the forum before and nothing else got done! Only going into a few of the tents also cuts down on my forum time. I used to feel I had to read every single post. but now I only read the ones that are relevant to me. I think our numbers will pick up in the fullness of time, as new people join. I'm in for keeps. I love this place.

@Chickvic, don't feel worried about that, I actually have the opposite problem, I am seriously struggling to shift anything at all and feel bad about trying to encourage people when it isn't happening for me
