Re: 30 Day Shred - May 2014

Ah Beth i've heard good things about bravissimo, however i'm not paying that price for underwear until i'm sure i'm not going to change in size anytime soon!

And hopefully, i will be changing size!

I went a run yesterday lunch and had a night off shred, back on tonight, I usually do about 8 days at level 1 so i'll do another 4 days level 1 and switch onto level 2 at the weekend I think

Hope everyone else is doing well?

Has anyone else noticed the pesky 30DS weight gain? I always gain weight at the start of doing it, i'm sure it's my muscles holding water to repair. But it's anywhere from 2-4lbs, this time it appears to be about 4! So annoying

Aww that's a shame, @Nicky_94! I don't blame you though, I wouldn't want to do the shred in front of everyone. Good luck with today :) *Sprinkles motivational dust on you*

Yeah that makes perfect sense, @rebelsue2. I don't possibly think I can change again, even if I lose more weight. Really genuinely thought I was a 34 all these years, so it's been a shock (and a pleasure) to be resized to 30. Either I was thinner than I thought all along or my year of on/off fasting and exercising has done a lot more than I thought it had... haha

Don't worry about the weight gain, as well. It's normal to gain up to 5lbs with new exercise! It'll all be worth it :) Drink looooads of water and don't worry about the scales for now.

I have some good news! I measured myself yesterday despite missing nearly all of Level 2 and my waist measurement has finally changed! I'm very happy because I'm refusing to weigh myself at the moment, it just upset me too much when I didn't lose, and I'm not calorie counting either. Wasn't sustainable for me. But fasting and exercising has obviously been working its magic! Very chuffed.

Yeah, there's no way i'm a 30! haha...

Yeah i'm drinking a lot of water! I've upped my exercise a fair bit over the last week or so again, so I know that usually happens, but it is annoying since we all want to lose weight....

Yey for the waist measurement change! I can see my tummy is much smaller already after 4 days of the shred :) I haven't done measurements this time, as i'm trying to take a more relaxed approach to the whole thing rather than getting caught up in the numbers (she says while she's stressing about the scale) but I can see the changes, so that's good! Last time I did measurements and before/after as well as photos at each level, so I know it works :)

Sounds like a good idea to be more relaxed :) It's finding that sweet spot between relaxed and motivated. Sometimes I'm too hard on myself, sometimes I'm too lazy. Hoping to find the balance.

I am also going to post my photo progress from last year... This is scary for me but it's a reminder that the shred really does make a difference. As does fasting. I haven't taken photographs this time round but I'm definitely feeling the difference so that's good :)

I've put it in spoiler tags so as not to shock any passers-by :P

WARNING: TOO MUCH INFORMATION!

Nice job Beth those look amazing! Similar to mine as well from the last time I did it. It really does give good results!

I did day 5 yesterday and my legs are fine today, think i've hit the turning point for level 1 woop! It was difficult though, fast day as well, so I did feel a bit tired, I also did 2 walks yesterday. Today's a bit rainy to walk but i've also got a run tomorrow. And 1.5 of those water weight lbs appear to have disappeared so I hope they stay away!

I know what you mean about finding the good spot, it's the same for me, If i'm too hard on myself I just don't lose weight, I have to not worry about having the odd chocolate bar and try to make better choices whilst exercising and eating healthily. That seems to be the key! People who rant about how many grams of fat something has really stress me out and when that happens I don't lose weight. Just trying to keep to my own goals and ignore everyone else :)
And I was weighing every day to see the trend, so now I know when my body is likely to be heavier etc, after a meal or after exercise, then I don't stress so much if the scales are up a bit... each to their own!

Good results in your photos @BethP, I didn't take before/after last year, but I did take a before pic this year so I hope to be able to share great results at the end...

I shredded today, only day 2 of level 2 as I didn't get to shred yesterday either, too many people at home again, I'm going to have to start thinking of reasons to get them all to go out LOL. Still very hard!

How is everyone else doing?

Pfffff, not doing well...only got 2 shreds in last week, I really need to make sure I shred more regularly!

I'm planning on doing level 2 days 3-7 this week, I just need to find my motivation

Well done for finishing level 1 @rebelsue2 and good luck for level 2, I'm still finding it HARD!

Hi Nicky, hope you can manage some more shredding this week. I've had better results this time around i think, probably because i'm fitter and lighter than I was last time! But i'm bored with level 1 now!

If I remember, level 2 is a bit harder so hopefully it'll go ok! Will start tonight, even though my legs feel tired as I did shred, a run and the gym yesterday!

Think tomorrow will be a rest day :) YEY

Hey @rebelsue2 and @Nicky_94, sorry I haven't been around! It's been mad since I finished my exams last friday. But I am free now :) I haven't been able to shred (typical) so I think I'm starting Level 2 again on Sunday when I'm back home for a couple of weeks. How's it going?

Brilliant before and after pics Beth, you've quite inspired me!

Hi @BethP and everyone

Mine is going ok, done 2 days of level 2 now, my bum is really sore! all that squat thrusts and plank jacks! I can't decide if i'll have a break tonight, as I've got an ongoing leg injury I don't want to push too hard!

I'm running tomorrow and Sunday and will probably shred Sat/Sunday too. So I might take tonight as a rest day! And cardio day tomorrow.

I've got 20 days left before my holiday, so factoring in a few rest/cardio days i'll probably do 8 days of level 2 then 8 days level 3....

Seem to be having good results this time, my trousers feel looser and my stomach is looking much less bloated so i'm happy with that.

How's everyone else getting on ?

BethP - what are the exams for?

HELLOOOOOO!
Can I join in a bit late to the party - again?
Go on the holidays 3rd of July so decided that June was just screaming out for the shred.
Did yesterday and today and...
Beloved joined in! This is fairly big news - he's a big fella and does very little exercise. I'm a wee smout and a yo-yo exerciser hopefully getting back into my groove. We must make an amusing sight in the morning grunting, sweating and swearing at Jillian. I've managed one complete programme and a couple of abortive reruns and I still don't look like Natalie *sigh*. I will get very worried if Beloved ends up looking like either her or the other one
we'll see how it goes. Day three is always the tricky one motivation and spaegie (body fatigue) wise...
How are the rest of you doing?

Hi Janeg!

I'm still shredding, today will be day 5 of level 2, I can't say i'm really enjoying level 2. I find the arm exercises are quite difficult and for some reason I cannot deal with the V-fly's this time around! (i've done it before too)

But apart from that going fine :) Always feel like i'm not getting the same results at Level 2, but will wait until i've done my 8 days at this level and weigh/photo again and see whats happening :)

Where are you off to on hols? I'm off to Canada in just over 2 weeks
