Before I decide if I'm brave enough to try to join you, I want to ask if you eat your calories back for your exercise on non-fast days? Do you also track sleep hours? I got a fitbit one in July, but haven't made 10,000 steps yet. Is there a way to set the stride? I'm thinking that might be part of my solution because on days my husband & I both walk, he always makes his 10K & I don't get over 3,000. Maybe ill see if he'll swap one day! Thanks for all input.
The fitbit adjusts your calories based on exercise - so if you are logging food in the fitbit app, then it will tell you how many more you have that day.
On a fast day, you can eat 25% of your TDEE, or 500 calories for a woman, whichever is higher - so if your normal TDEE is 2000 calories, eat 500 calories. If you do so much exercise that fitbit says your burn for that day is 2400 calories, then you could have 600 calories on a fast day.
I wouldn't necessarily change the stride unless your legs are unusually long or short. Your stride will change based on your pace. Fitbit has calculated this - more steps per mile when walking than with running, for example.
