I like the idea of "yoyo exercising" sounds fun! I think that's what happens to me anyway, as long as the string is nice & short - I don't want to get too far away. Doing my first HIIT for 3 weeks this arvo. Giving myself permission to stop when the nice man's voice says, "5 minutes to go" if I need to! And REALLY looking forward to a bike ride tomorrow!

Happy HITing everyone!
TGIF! Hope you all have been having fun HIITing. I'm really enjoying getting it done on a mini trampoline the best. Finally broke my stall on the scale this week by doing 4:3 for a change.

Spring has finally Sprung! Yippee! :like: ~ Ann
lovely to see you here, @slimnana. So you do running in place on the rebounder? Sounds & looks fun! I might give it a go! I've been struggling to do anything like regular HIIT (many things happening in the rest of my life!), and if you leave it for a while, I reckon it's really hard to get back into - will try again today, and I'll post the outcome regardless!

good luck HIITers out there!
I am here to confess! I haven't done any HIT since Sunday 16th March. I have been back from Germany for nearly a week and the rowing machine has not been touched! I have had more incidental exercise than usual and only gained a couple of pounds, which I have now lost, but I'm ashamed because it was all going so well!

At least I only committed to four weeks for my challenge and ended up doing eight, so it's not all bad! I think that I may go and get started on the next eight weeks because anything is better than nothing!

Good luck to the rest of you! Happy HIT-ing!
Don't despair, @Stowgateresident! -we do what we can! Don't let that shame get to you, instead, laugh in its face & just start again. That's what I'm going to try to do tomorrow- I didn't manage it today - too many other edgy things on the agenda - like tax! But tomorrow's another day!
I've HITed this morning so I'm hoping I will actually do more than one day this week!
I got one in yesterday after a short break. Only managed 17 mins, but that's pretty close to 20. I think for my next one, I'll switch things up and try a different protocol. Any recommendations for the elliptical? I'm doing Boutcher protocol now (8s/12s for 20mins).
I can't really recommend anything else as I'm still doing Steve Boutcher's protocol. But there seem to be plenty out there. How come you want to change?

Good luck to any HIITers out there!
I'm sure I read somewhere that doing different protocols is a good thing. I'll always do some Boutcher protocol, but I thought I might benefit from a protocol with longer up and down periods, too.
Hello everyone- I'm still alive! Mad max and I are not on good terms. I have abandoned him due to travelling, and despite good intentions, have seriously fallen by the wayside. :(
And now I seem to have some chesty/lung thing that is messing up my breathing so methinks that HIITing is not a good idea at the moment.
I'll be back, just not sure when ...
Glad to see everyone else still managing something :clover:
No5 sidling in, in a sheepish sort of way, I have not picked up the kettle bells for months, I have built up my running to 30min again 3times a week and walk an hour 2times a week but really do have to get down to some upper body and abs exercise. I am on holiday next week so will be running and walking I must seriously try to get my but into gear and Hiit when I get back home. My daughter is coming over from Australia for 3 weeks in June so that might give me the incentive to do something.
Always great to hear how everyone's going, even if the news isn't all good! I have fallen back into having a fair barrier of dread before starting a session, I still reckon it's just the adrenaline surges HIT produces - oh well, try again tmrw!
I actually managed to do three sessions this week. Now I'm off for the weekend to ruin any good I might have done  Have a great weekend everyone.
Well done, @Wineoclock!

I think I'll try mixing up Boutcher with classic MM (I guess it's not really classic--I suppose that would be Tabata--but it's the first I heard of HIIT) 20s up 1 min down. I might only do 40s down because that's probably enough recovery time for me and it makes the timings easier. Is anyone here doing that method?
@MaryAnn that's how Madmax and I go at it- 20 secs hell for leather, 40 secs recovery. I do/was doing a set of 5 with one minutes rest and then a set of 3. Initially the aim was for 10 sets but I found that very hard so did a set of 5 and added the extra in when I felt I could. Heaven knows where I'll be back to when I return to it...
Good luck with it- I find it tough.
