I am soo achy today :(

I keep saying I will do it in a min, then putting it off. Just the thought fills me with utter horror :D

Awww...you could try a heavily modified version, maybe no weights and just move as best as you can for the cardio. I find the jumps quite hard as it's high-impact. I have a rebounder (mini trampoline), and I did the cardio on that which helped so much. Even if you just walk on the spot or dance around a bit for the cardio, you'll still be getting a pretty good workout.

Or, of course, just go easy on yourself and call today a rest day. Do some stretches or something. It's up to you. There's always tomorrow!! :) Don't be hard on yourself :)

Day 7 done. I am starting to feel muscles in my upper arms! :D. I should finish level one this week, although I'm planning on doing a few more days of it when I get back after my holiday.

Anyone else still persevering? :) Good luck!

Hello!

Yep - i'm still going, i'm on level 3 now!

Much stronger and fitter and more energy. Weight is still the same, inches and body fat reduced :)

Ordered her Ripped in 30 to move onto after my hols!

Stick with it everyone :)

Well done! That's a good result :)

Well, my weight has been stuck for about 4 weeks, I'm prepared for it not to move too much, necessarily - but oddly, I seem to have gained about an inch and a half all over! That's somewhat frustrating. However, I do feel more toned, i.e I can tell that I am developing muscle - and I'm enjoying these workouts (usually I can't keep up with any moderate to fast-paced aerobic-type videos, which is why I've been doing Callanetics and yoga for years!)I'll really try and persevere with this though.

Whitelily,

My weight has been stuck for about 5 weeks now, it's been fluctuating up with the 30 Day Shred, but never down yet!

Apparently it can take a few weeks for your body to get used to it and most weight loss occurs in level 3. Last time I gave up on level 2 so i'm hoping for some loss maybe this week.

But i'm not holding my breath.

Funny what you're saying about inches, if i measure at night i'm a good 2 or so inches bigger all over than i am in the morning! And some days I feel really bloated and fat (like today) even though I can feel my muscles aching and know i've lost a lot of inches so far! I'm sure some of that is in my head, or it's hormones!

Either way I know it's good to exercise :)

Google 30 Day Shred results if you want some motivation! It's helping me stick with it, some people have had amazing results and my own before and after pics (so far) look better than the mirror tells me!

:)

I've actually been consistent and have stuck to the regime I set for myself - I did my 1 rest day on Sunday and will 'finish' Level 1 today - 10 workouts done. I'm quite proud of myself! I was a bit naughty and jumped ahead to Level 2 for one workout when my DVD arrived, to break things up (and because I was curious!). Now I DIDN'T use hand weights that day, but it was still a good workout and not as nightmarish as I'd thought! Rest day tomorrow as planned and then I'm away for a week's holiday in Wales. I really hope I don't undo all my good effort while I'm there, should be able to get plenty of walks in though so I'll be doing some exercise at least!

Enjoy your holiday!

I'm planning on finishing level 3 before I go my holidays :)

Maybe even get a few days of another DVD in before I head away!

Anyone still around? i've got 4 more days of level 3 to do before my hols

I've done 8 days of each level.... so not quite the 30 days, but still good results so far :)

Hi rebelsue, well done on your progress! I'll be jumping back on the Level 1 bandwagon this week, I might even do a full five days before going on to Level 2, to ease myself back into the 30-day shred mindset. Well, that's if Level 1 CAN correctly be called 'easing,' if you follow me! ;)

OK, scrap my last reply in this thread - I'm doing Level 2 now! I did 2 extra days of Level 1 and decided I wanted to move on. So OFFICIALLY I've done Day 11 now (although really I've done 13 days of the Shred in total).

I used slightly heavier weights and I'm SORE. I pretty much managed to keep up though. My walking plank/pressups are pathetic, I can barely bend my arms, although I can hold the plank position, which I'm pleased about. The cardio's a killer - I had to just march on the spot for some of it. But I kept going and didn't take breaks.

On a plus side, after my fast day yesterday I seem to have lost the 2lb that I gained over my holiday. I'm at 13st 10 again. That's great! If I manage to start losing again, even if it's slow, I'll be happy. I've been stuck at 13st 9/ 13st 10 for 4 weeks. Fingers crossed. Good luck fellow shredders, if you're still keeping at it!

Hi all

Well I finished my shred
Final results
3 lbs loss
16 inches lost
1% body fat lost
0.5% muscle gain

The last 2 are obviously estimated being that the scales aren't great at doing the body fat and muscle thing!

But I'm happy with that! My clothes are much looser and I look and feel better and fitter

Planning on starting some of her other DVDs after a week off :)

Hope you're all getting on ok xx

Day 15 done (plus the 4 extra days that I mentioned in the previous post). Halfway through level 2 now. I've gained 2 more inches round my waist ( :o ) and have still not lost any weight at all. However, I feel really good and my tummy looks a little bit more defined (which is funny when you consider that I've gained inches. So I'll stick with it. Absolutely NO IDEA what is going on with my body right now re: the fasting as it's had no impact at all for several weeks....

Anyway, I never thought I'd be able to maintain an exercise regime like this with my health issues, so I'll pat myself on my (surely a bit less flabby) back for that achievement. LOL

Well done whitelily!

I wouldnt worry about the weight loss too much, that last 3 lbs i lost was in the last 2 days! And mainly because I was doing a sort of Dukan Attack type thing, to try and get a few off before hols. Its common not to lose anything on the 30 day shred.

I'm back from hols now and only 0.5lb heavier, but feel less strong and more flabby! I'm starting the next DVD "ripped in 30" tonight, but i'll stick on this thread if folk are still around :)

Good luck for the rest of the 30 days!

Well, I'll be around a bit longer ;)

I'm thinking I may continue to use the 3 30DS workouts for maintainance once I'm done as I'm liking them so far. I've not been finding Level 2 that much harder - so maybe I was fitter than I thought when I began this. I'm on my next size up of weights as well.

I attempted a Yoga Meltdown workout (also by Jillian) which was on Youtube yesterday and I found it IMPOSSIBLE - after 5 mins i was sweating buckets. Really hard to hold the poses and I already do a fair bit of yoga (although admittedly only at beginner level). I was surprised how tough it seemed!

My sister visited this weekend - I haven't seen her since May as most of my family live in S.E England (I'm in the S.W) and she said I was shrinking. So something's working!

Good luck with 'ripped in 30' - let us know how you find it! There's a set of Jillian DVDs on Amazon which I;m eyeing up so it might help me decide whether that's the way to go once I'm done with 30DS :like:
