I, too, am fasting but only my second and so far it's way easier than Tuesday. Bit of a headache but a walk in that bright light in the sky - what's it called? O yes, the sun! - helped enormously. Had fruit and yogurt for breakfast and just sipping my first ever miso soup - 'interesting'.

My 10th fasting day. Loads of energy today, whereas Monday was a struggle all day. Losing weight and inches...it's all good.
You know how you have those days where it just goes badly from start to finish...well today is one of those. :(

Started badly - see my earlier post - and hasn't got any better since.

Got to work and haven't yet stopped! The phone system that runs our Customer Services and IT Helpdesk has gone up the wall and has left everything in night service! Of course, all the bosses out out at an offsite jolly so it falls to me to try and get this sorted with the hindrance of the supplier - I would live to say 'help' instead of 'hindrance' but it really isn't. Of course, this is a customer facing issue so I've got the directors breathing down my neck too.

Doesn't look like I'm going to get a lunch break, which isn't the end of the world on a fast day, but I was looking forward to hiding in the corner for an hour with my book.

Oh well, at least hearing about your days is making me feel better.

Roll on those chocolate eggs tomorrow!
Sorry you're having a miserable day, Jemima, I hope it gets better, or at least doesn't get any worse!

Second fast of the week for us. Not sure how many we've done now, but my husband and I started 5:2 at the end of January. Fasting is fairly routine now, saving all my calories for dinner in the evening works for me, although my husband usually has a little 'something' at lunchtime. At weigh-in last Sunday, I had lost fourteen pounds and he had lost twelve, so 5:2 is working for us!
This my 2nd fast day and I'm working today so it 's making me a bit nervous because I had to get up at 5:30am making my day quite a bit longer than my first fast day. I switched from three 100/100/300 meals to two 200/300 meals to get a longer fast. Last night I went to my daughters for dinner and although I didn't eat any more than anyone else I felt bloated and GUILTY thinking I ruined my week. I also made the mistake of weighing myself when I got home. I normally wouldn't eat to the point of being that full so have to wonder if I was subconsciously preparing for today. I know I'm over thinking things, feeling guilty, and realize I have to change my old way of thinking.

Luckily I do realize that I'll feel better after my fast today but my mind is playing with me today.
4th fast today. I went grocery shopping in anticipation of Easter today, and while in the grocery store they were handing out samples of Easter bread. The woman put it in my hands, and I ate it. And while I was chewing I thought "oh no, I am fasting today". I figure it was 20 calories, just funny that I totally forgot. Saving all my calories up for dinner, so no foul.
Failed on Monday so first day this week. Had porridge for breakie and will have soup tonight. Have been feeling unwell and low and a bad night last night due to severe indigestion. I have been trying to eat meat after 34 years as veggie as it is so hard finding suitable things in France. As of today I am going back to veggie again which I am more comfortable with. It will mean a major rethink of my diet to keep going with this plan but I am determined to do it. It is hard to stay within limits on feast days and still get enough protein.
Isnt it nice to not have to think about cooking when your on a fast day. I live and breathe food normally, wake up thinking of food and go to bed thinking of food, all through the day, wondering what to cook for our next meal,Fasting???? no problem, dont even have to cook ,if you dont want, xxxxxx
Bobshouse, why would you want to try and eat meat?? I get lots of protien from beans and pulses etc, eggs if you can eat them.?x
Bobshouse...what kind of protein levels are you trying to achieve? You only need around 50g of protein and you can easily achieve that with plants (and eggs and dairy if you are not vegan). A relatively low protein intake is good for us in many ways. I also don't agree with Dr M that you need worry about protein intake on fast days. The participants in the ADF trials only had 30g of protein on fast days and they did not lose muscle.
6th fast for me. I am planning to have nothing but liquids until dinner. For breakfast had a latte with half cup of non-fat milk. Planning on a cup of chicken broth for lunch or afternoon break to get me through the work day. For dinner I a am going to try the tuna, bean & garlic salad from the book to mix things up and that will leave me a few calories for fruit for dessert.
I have to limit cheese due to migraines and there is not much variety of pulses in Northern France. Veg is seasonal and little variety especially at this time of year. Things like pine nuts and other nuts are very expensive if you can find them. I get plenty of eggs from my free range chickens and ducks. My OH enjoys eating out, he is carnivore, but it is not a good experience for me. Even with a proper chef cooking I get weird meals usually involving grated carrot and pasta. Omlettes here are served runny! Yuk! My favourite restaurant is a pizza place who do a beautiful veg pizza! Not exactly diet food! When eating at a French neighbours I had grated carrot to start, grated carrot and grilled aubergine slices for dinner and fruit for dessert. The French do not understand vegetarian cooking.
A possibility but prefer purely vegetarian.
Weighed in Tuesday and lost .4. Guess I can't complain, but I was hoping for more. Everyone else seems to lose so much every week that I feel a little disapppointed. Anyone else experiencing similar difficulties?
