Well, I made it and today is weigh in day to boot. I just weighed myself and I lost two pounds this week for the first time ever I think on 5:2, if not for at least a while.

This might just be the incentive I needed to try and struggle through another liquid fast. I also did 4:3 last week and am trying to stick within tdee on non fast days. Too many variables methinks to try and pinpoint why, but I'm a happy camper :)

How is everyone else doing?
Well done Umleila - that's Fab

Feeling great this morning- looking forward to breakfast when I get to work. My weigh in day too - lost 1kg, which I'm thrilled with. And now I'm below half way down the overweight scale - hurrah!
Thank you and Welll done to you too :) I had my breakfast really early this morning. Enjoy yours when you have it.
Oh well done Umleila & Minum - great going ladies :victory: I'm not feeling particularly hungry this morning - feel I can easily go through to lunch time - which will make 47 hours - not sure if that's overdoing it slightly !? (opinions welcomed) But I'm not hungry so can't see the point in breaking the fast yet.... will have a nice lunch at 1pmish - but if I do get hungry mid-morning I've got a banana in my bag which I can discreetly eat at work  Feeling good - looking forward to something to eat later - then back here on Thursday - will drop by in between to see what you're all up to !! Good luck everyone - keep up the good work - we're making the planet a lighter/healthier place
B&W Chocolate and Beetroot Sourdough Bread??? Sounds really good. I don't know how you can bake AND fast? :?:
Started my 36 hours last night at 8pm, so a long way to go today but I will be logging on at times to read posts and to feel encouraged as the first fast of the weeek is always difficult for me! I find the one on Thursdays so much easier (probably because the weekend is nearly there!
Suchard007 - just eat when you want to - you have done so well and as you say you can disceetly eat a banana at work  !!
Hi all
36 hr fasts are getting easier. Im making an effort to not go mad on feed days, and have had a steady loss that I am very happy with.

Its 645 pm here in NZ so I broke my fast this am, at a breakfast meeting with the catered equivelent of a bacon and egg mcmuffin!!

Nice to see we all have the same issues, feeling the cold, not always managing quite a full water fast, but usually consuming less calories than on a standard fast, and struggling to resist even the thought of hot buttered toast

Planning to do a standard fast tomorrow, with one 400ish meal at the 24 hr mark, but will see how I feel. Husband out tomorrow, so will be easier not to eat. I really admire those who are cooking for a family while fasting, that requires some will power :victory:
Suchard, you clearly listen to your body so you'll know when to eat.
Well that's another liquid fast done and I've just had TOAST for my breakfast -yum! That took me to 37 hours and I don't intend doing any longer than that partly because my body needs fed at that time and partly because I think I've read a couple of times on the forum that longer fasts can affect your thyroid function. I have noticed that especially since I've been doing liquid fasts that I am more in tune with my body.
Good morning everyone, we did it :) well done on your weight loss Umleila and Minum. My official weigh in day is Saturday, however last Saturday I had stayed the same after doing 2 water fast days and 1 500 calorie fast, so I decided to have a sneak peek, I lost 300 g. I know it doesn't look like much but I am happy with that, hopefully I will keep it off or lose more until my official weigh. Have a nice day everyone.
Thanks suchard007 :) last fast I waited until about 11 to eat but then binged the whole day, so today was seeing what effect an early breakfast had and if that would make it easier.

So far it's not lol. I feel puckish all the time, not at all the same hunger as yesterday but its bothering me. I'm going to try and distract myself for a good few hours and try not to eat again until lunchtime.

Good luck to those who are stating their fast today.
Good morning everyone! Woke up today feeling great :)

I'm down 2lbs since Sunday! Just had oats and banana for breakfast :)

I plan on not gaining back those 2lbs and should be fairly easy as I have a long day at work which will keep me busy until 6 pm!

Well done everyone!
Yaayyyyy!!!! I manage to complete my very first 36hr liquid fast day too!! Just had a bowl of oat so simple - didn't feel hungry but as I'm off to the gym now I thought it would be sensible to eat something before hand. For me, the liquid only day felt a lot easier than 1x500 cal evening meal - as I didn't have that hungry feeling all night which I usually get after eating that one meal. I found a McDonald's cappachino at 6pm took away that hunger pang I was having whilst cooking the family a pasta bolognese! :) so not entirely a complete water fast, but knowing I can have that one filling milky coffee at the worst of times will make my next fluid fast on thurs just as easy! :) and no more hunger pangs all evening afterwards! Well done to all that managed it yesterday! Weigh day for me is a Saturday and I'm hoping for my first stone off :)
This thread's moving a bit slow today!

To liven things up a little:

Hi HilaryJane

I must admit to a little wobble, just before I retired for the night, when the unbidden thought popped into my mind that I still had 400 calories left, so one Chelsea bun wouldn't hurt!

However, they were all here when I came down this morning, and I had one with my coffee at about 10.45 - so that was about 40 hours on 200 calories.

They went down a storm with the guys! Well, they were de luxe CBs, containing wine-soaked fruit and leftover mincemeat! :like:
I think Tuesdays are a quiet day for liquid fasting. A lot of people, me included, like Mondays to counter the weekend. I'm going doing a 24 hour fast now until tomorrow evening because I have a busy day tomorrow so I know I probably won't get time for breakfast or lunch. Then I'll do my normal Thursday water fast for about 40 hours.

I've noticed I have a bit of a sugar craving lately - ate chocolate and sweeties today which I wouldn't normally eat/ want to eat. Hoping it's not this mythical 'body trying to sustain a particular weight' thing as I really want to lose another few pounds from the abdomen/ belly area!!
I'm fasting today (Wed) so I can drink bubble tea with a friend tomorrow.
I'm back on the wagon today after 2 feast days; and believe you me they were quite a feast :( yesterday was my birthday so big of an excuse. Surprisingly didn't really enjoy that quantity if food as much as I used to and am really looking forward to fasting today! A real turning point already, yay!! :)
