Oh no Abbie you mentioned toast.....it's what I dream of on a fast day.......OMG, I can smell it.

You didn't fail, another successful fast day if that's all you've eaten. I'm still in though, I'll have my toast in the morning.
Oh no! Not TOAST! ............... :starving:

Ballerina x
Oooooo I'm 28 hours into my very first liquid fast - I was struggling about 4pm whilst out & about and felt sooooooo cold - so I had a McDonald's reg cappachino with a sugar :( only just over 100 cals but it's still liquid yeah??!! Or have I failed at my first go? I started off so well too with 30mins cardio work out and 60 mins aqua Zumba class :/ and yes sooo cold atm but feeling real good with my fruity herbal tea!! :)

PS. DOES SHIVERING COUNT AS EXERCISE??!!! Lol x
Ha! Who mentioned toast!! That nearly caused a riot the last time!!I've just come from the cinema and husband ate a big plate of nachos and cheese. Nearly reached for a handful a couple of times! Much easier for me to fast when I'm busy at work it seems!! But I've made it through ok. Am contemplating continuing with just liquid tomorrow. Am seduced by what I've read on juicing so far so might give it a go with no calorie restriction. Or not. Depends how I feel tomorrow. Well done everyone - even those who ate something, seems everyone is still well under 500 so a successful fast day all round!!
Welshsupergirl, you haven't failed, coffee is allowed :)

@Redhead - I just finished watching the 'Fat, Sick and nearly dead' and WOW! Absolutely incredible stories, I might consider doing that for a week or so :)

25 hours into my fast and feeling great! Planning to eat banana and oats for breakfast :)
Well I tried my first liquid fast yesterday and made it to 23hrs but then cooking dinner for my family I caved :frown:
Ended up switching to normal fast day and had dinner with them of approx.400cls then back to water after.
I think I may need a few more normal fast days before trying to tackle again.
Tammz, take your time and reduce your caloric intake gradually :)

26 hours done and I'm off to sleep! Goodnight everyone :)
What's all this talk of toast then girlies ??? Too much temptation in the way - though it sounds like you've all done really well and only caved in very slightly  Was snuggled up under a light blanket watching The Fall - just checking in before retreating to bed with my book. 2 large mugs of veg stock drink since getting in from work - that'll see me through to the morning. Will be at 41hrs by 7am tomorrow - seeing as I last ate 2pm yesterday, Sunday. Going well, though I'm very cold today too - not something that's happened before. Mind you for the middle of May it's blooming cold outside !! Well done everyone - even if you've succumbed a bit, it's still a great achievement. :victory:
I give up......I'm going to bed before I crumble. I can't cope with all the chat about the T word.
Oh cripes - toast mmmmm! I'm with wildmissus, off to bed before I have to have it! Been soooo busy today and tomorrow is the first of 2 birthdays this week, niece and son, both here in my house this week! So will be all go again tomorrow. I'm not cold today , just thought I would say as everyone seems to be feeling it, perhaps its because I don't really feel cold, in fact my work mates say my office is like the north pole! Well done everyone who posted on this thread today, another successful fast!
I think this might have been the toughest fast yet for me, but still bearable.
I've felt cold for most of the day, but everyone at work was complaining today so don't think it was due to fasting, like it usually is.

It's the TOTM for me this week (for the first time since starting fasting), and I feel so bloated and heavy! The fact that i am really constipated (sorry TMI) isn't helping either. That's the only negative side effect I've had and it's been like this since starting 4 weeks ago. I've tried prunes, water, exercise, psyllium husks, loads of veg etc all to no affect. Only thing that works for me is taking Dulcolax, which I'm not too keen on doing repeatedly.

I usually fast with just water and herbal teas, but today I had to have a few coffees with milk and a tiny bit of sugar to help get me through. I did a dance class this evening and felt so much better for it - warmed me up and took my mind off fasting completely.

Glad to be going to bed now! Weigh-in tomorrow morning but expecting to see a gain this time.

Well done everyone - cant believe how many people are trying out the liquid fasts. I just find it so much easier to not have the hassle of planning how to eat my calories etc.
Hi folks

Coming up to 30 hours fasting, ATM. Although (at the insistence of my wife) I had a meal tonight, I kept it under 200 calories. I'm on maintenance, but I want the health benefits of fasting.

Danger time coming up, though, as I have a chocolate and beetroot sourdough loaf in the oven as I type - and a batch of Chelsea buns to go in when the sourdough is baked. These are for a men's coffee morning tomorrow.

Actually, there's no real danger, though, since I'm well in the zone - time enough to taste these two at the coffee morning. And I won't have breakfast - which will leave me plenty of scope!

But I'll make sure I don't eat too much, too fast!

About my 200 calories - prior to wildmissus starting the initial 36 hour fasting thread, I would fast for 24 hours, then eat right up to my 600 calories. Even to the extent of eating one square of dark chocolate (55 calories) when I'd only consumed 540.

Best wishes to all on here - you're all doing so well! :like:
I was planning on doing 4:3 this week as I've not lost anything on 5:2 as of yet (mostly due to overeating on feed days though :shame: ) but I realised that I have scheduled in a breakfast meeting for friday. I will therefore be doing my very first 36 hour liquid fast starting tomorrow! It's still a while away, but I think I will need some serious support - especially to go without my usual 3 skim latte's!
Firstly, let me just check - If I eat something at 9pm tonight (after I finish work) then I start counting 36 hours from 7am the following morning? And then go through to 7pm on Thursday? Do you guys think I would be better off eating earlier this afternoon and then starting the fast from 7pm tonight? Sorry for all the questions - I'm just a little bit nervous!
Hi Fredi

No, your 36 hours start from when you finish eating tonight - and they end when you break your fast, at whatever time, on the day after.

So all you'll have on Wednesday is liquid - and don't stress too much if that liquid includes a few calories, such as milk in your tea, or miso soup or somesuch. You may well find (as many people do) that water is sufficient on a fasting day, but you need to build up to that.

But good luck - and let us know how you get on!

Cheers, B&W
Thanks B&W! I'm glad to hear that as it means I can really start from about 10pm tonight and then just make it to lunch time on Thursday. I can do that! Especially if I'm still allowed to have a cup-a-soup or something. They tend to be a staple of my fast days anyway, so hopefully it won't feel too different.
Looking forward to my liquids only fast now!
