This is my first ever fast day and I feel quite excited but also nervous! Was meant to be at work but am now at home as my son is off school so that may not help. It is still early and I feel I need to keep busy as all I am thinking about is not eating. Any helpful hints for taht first day gratefully received.
BRING IT ON!!!!! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!          :) :) :) :) :)
Me too, been going just a couple of days less than you, lost 3kgs so far. It's 7pm and I've eaten all my 500 cals :starving: I might have to go to bed early. I'll make a herbal tea. I fast Momday and Thursdays. Good luck :sleepy:
Am thinking about getting started on some cleaning before having breakfast (low cal yogurt, raspberries and an alpen light bar). Then the day will be pretty much divided between a bit of housework, and a bit of chilling out as it is my day off and just took and passed my driving theory test this morning.
Lunch will be cous cous and veg, and then this afternoon I'll make cauliflower cheese (199 calories per portion) for dinner.

The biggest thing today for me is that I would normally celebrate something like passing my theory test with a big bar of chocolate. Not today!!
I'm doing my 2nd liquid fast today. Having to work from home as I'm waiting for a hire car to be delivered (someone pranged ours last week). Good luck everyone
My husband and I are fasting today. Still battling with post cruise weight gain but hanging in there!
Fasting today :) Going well so far. For breakfast I had 2 slices of rye crisp bread and a slice of cheese plus an apple. Now just drinking peppermint tea. :)
I'm in. Week 8 fast number 15. For the first time when I officially weigh in tomorrow I will have either not lost or will have even gained according to my daily weigh in data. I know I shouldn't, but I just can't keep off those scales! Have been losing a steady 1lb a week and haven't done anything different this week, so who knows? I am still cynical and still don't understand how this works but my clothes are looser. I can even get my hands down my favourite skirt that was too tight 8 weeks ago. I think my scales must be dodgy!! Still, really enjoying eating this way, no reason to stop, so will keep plodding on.

Green tea all day and chicken and salad for dinner today. Will probably have the old faithfuls; 10 calorie jelly and 40 calorie hot chocolate before bed. Good luck everyone, we can do this, it's easy.
Hi Dooday...relax, keep drinking fluids and if tempted to eat before time just think to yourself you can have whatever your tempted with tomorow. Good luck x
Fast number 3 for me... started yesterday, sunday at 10pm, I have not eaten anything since, only peppermint ice tea, I was a little hungry this morning but now feeling ok. Planning to eat all my calories at dinner!!
Oops! Fasting plans may have to change because we have an unexpected visitor for lunch - and nothing in the house! Off to the pub for us then! Never mind, there's always tomorrow!

Congratulations, Skykitty, on passing your driving theory test and even more congratulations for not celebrating with a bar of chocolate! (You can have one tomorrow - just not a 200g bar!)

Patience: Have you been 5:2-ing before joining the forum or is this your first fast?

Dooday: My advice would be to keep busy, drink plenty of fluids and remember that hunger pangs do pass and no-one ever died from missing a meal or two!
:clover: Good luck to all fasting today! Onwards and downwards!
Started today with a fast, broke it this afternoon and felt super crappy about it, but I decided to turn lemons into lemonade and start a 36 hour liquid fast from that time. Let's see what happens!
I'm in too. I am on my 9th fast and usually to date have had cup of tea in the morning,a small (100 - 150 cal) lunch and a 350 - 400 supper. Today I've had nothing but water so far and it's 1pm.... lots of rumbling going on. I think I'll have a miso now (30 cal) and then an early supper (350 cal) as I have to go out and do something energetic at 6.30pm ! Might have a later "snack" to make it up to 500. Sparkling water helps when the tap water gets boring. I'm finding it ok most of the time except when the children brandish their choc ices at me !
I'm in! I gotta say it cracks me up to see the Aussies start this thread before I've even I had my supper the night before fast! It just starts my night before off with a smile - and reminds me to plan for tomorrow!

Success to all!
Yes, all done for this Aussie. The day is done. I have survived but it has been tough today. It's so cold, the first really cold day this season. I am seriously craving carbs: biscuits with slathering of butter. I'll take a hot water bottle to bed and wake up in the morning and eat a really BIG breakfast !
