A very cold day down under, I'm just waitung for my electric blanket to take the chill off the bed and then I'm off to the land of nod. This was my 27th fast but the first time I've kept all my cals to six o'clock. I really liked it and think I'll keep doing it. I wasn't really hungry all day. The only drawback will be missing my vitamins twice a week. There is no way I can take them on an empty stomach; it makes me want to hurl. Maybe I could try a little milk to wash them down but I'm not sure what that will do to my appetite. Any thoughts anyone?
Late checking in today, very overindulgent week-end and feeling very hungover, so it's going very slowly and I'm hungry and can't get warm , only a few more hours to go till supper, so I'm hanging on in there :/
A final post from me as I close out my day. I made it!! My 10th (I think) and hardest fast for some reason. I don't think I would have done it if I hadn't touched base here and gotten such wonderful support.

The weightloss everyone is recording here is awesome. I've done some crazy diets and not really lost weight much faster (well, I did lose 10kgs in 31/2 weeks but that was baby weight so quite different). I started out a lot slower than most are recording here but it has certainly picked up and now I'm at or over 1lb a week. So far I have lost nearly 3kgs, 6.6lb in less than a month. I wish my partner was commenting like your hubby
Dooday~ hope your first fast is going well. I concur with the water advice... I drink LOADS of sparkling water. I save my cals for the evening as its easier but in the early days I ate lunch as well. This forum is a god send for support.

I fasted yesterday as I have a cold & no appetite... I'm embracing it again today because still feeling pants! :frown:
My usual days are Monday & Wednesday. I assume one extra wont hurt?
I planned just to have black coffee this morning, but was really hungry so i had a half a bowl of porridge. (109cals). Mexican bean soup for lunch(150). So will have to get dinner for about 200/230 now. So salad it is.

Good luck Monday fasters.
Am freezing cold so just made a bovril (haven't needed one for weeks) and had a sniff of the spice cupboard as someone here recommended. It worked!! Hard going today for some reason, not too bad but all the others have been so easy. Dinner will be in about 5 hours time and there will be a game to play that involves sweets between now and then. I will be strong
Man, that bovril is good :like:
Having a fastday too. Two houres to battle and then....dinner! It's harder today then normaly because my children and husband are home today. They are eating chips now:(
Hi there, just coming on to say hi. 3/4 of a banana and a mug of marmite made like bovril has sorted out my need for something. Was quite hungry and it was just making me feel a bit spaced out and not quite right. I feel great now, but still not as bouncing with energy as many claim. That comes on my food days.

Wendy, I have never had bovril - how different is it to marmite? I do like a bit of salt to give me a boost on my fast days (and my bp is generally lowish so its not a bad thing for me)

Now drinking twinings cherry & cinnamon tea - v nice smell although taste not as cherry-like as I'd hoped.
I'm not normally a Monday faster (I generally do Tuesday and Wednesday) BUT it's hockey playoff season and I definitely plan on imbibing during tomorrow's game, sooooo....here I am. It's my 7th week and I've lost 7 pounds. Not great but better than not losing I guess.

I've just had coffee so far but will have an egg with veggies in a bit, maybe some broth and a spinach salad for a late lunch. Tonight I'll probably make a veggie stir-fry with fish.

I will say that fasting is a breeze now - after about week 4, it became much easier!
17th week for me I think. :) Having a bit of a hard day as I have a heavy teaching load and cycled further today during my morning commute. I have had a cup of blackberries for lunch instead of sticking to having nothing until dinner tonight. I think I might have a low cal hot chocolate before cycling home later. :)

Does anyone else (female) find fasting slightly harder during their time of the month (if men do I would be interested in that also)?

Good luck all fasters! Let's make it to the end of the day. :)
I'm in. Had my muesli and a few black coffees as customary. Planning on green tea and miso til a green salad for dinner.

I cleverly convinced my husband to have quesadillas for dinner and then sent him to his weekday digs with the tortillas! I knew I wouldn't rest until I'd eaten them up.

Will have to remember to try out that spice cupboard trick, Wendy Darling.
Fasting today, after an almost self-sabotagingly excessive weekend, a right grump on, and lady problems! Surviving on tea and scowling at work (and really cold). Roll on tomorrow!
Count me in! Lots of black tea with nonfat milk and sugar free peach syrup.

Protein really fills me up; so I have some containers of protein drinks on hand. I choose the lowest calorie ones with the highest protein count.

Also prebiotic fiber chews also help fill me up. 2 of the candy chews have 15 calories, and when taken with tea really fill up my tummy.

I prefer to keep it easy and very simple on fast days, avoiding the kitchen.
Hi greenmonster. I have never made marmite into a drink but I would say that bovril tastes meatier. It is beef extract I believe. I don't even want to know what that means, so no spoilers anyone please!! If you don't fancy that then I would say that marmite would be ok to make into a drink
Hello fellow fasters! I'm in it today and doing fine. Going to have some beetroot soup (chunky type) and a slice of bread for my fast meal. However, I'm going to the cinema after work and peanut butter Ben&Jerry's is calling me very loudly! God, give me strength!
