@coffeetime- My eldest grandson told me he was the only person he knew, in his age bracket, that could sew on a button. He wasn't kidding, he was proud of himself and he's a teen. Sewing is becoming a lost art, for most of us. So, I'm guilty as charged for saving things for the grandchildren to work with. They all like a good craft and I promise myself not to save too much. :dazed:

I've cleaned out three drawers, taken bags to charity, have cleaned up some baby items that are going to others, and cleaned out my freezer. Yea!

@scubachick- It'll still take 6 months to dig it all out!
You've all been such busy bees since I last had a chance to pop in. Brillianty well done all. Wow @bobshouse some lucky person is going to think its Christmas come early when they get your lovely cream coat. Oh dear @coffeetime I feel your pain about keeping things to turn them into something new and @annurca many a time I have had bags in and out of the car too. @gillymary well done on the paperwork and bookshelves.

I have been so busy that I haven't had a chance to find things to chuck out so I will do that today, even if it's just one thing. So glad that you are all loving it in here.
Just back from the village where I put my last six bags of clothes in the charity bin. All good M&S stuff! Shoes will be next which will be harder as I have them in every colour. Now many of my clothes have gone the shoes need to follow. I am working at having a capsule wardrobe. Eg I have one pair of navy blue sandals so all summer stuff involves blue! This way I will never again be in the position where I have clothes or shoes I rarely wear. My heels will probably go as I never have an opportunity to wear them now. Pale cream suede heels are no good when you live on a farm! I may give in and buy extra wellies! Strangely it is easier having less clothes.
I had a massive clear out of the tall cupboard in my kitchen chucking out loads of dry goods past their sell by date, half opened packets of unidentified grains etc. Felt guilty throwing out food but have now sorted all my herbs, spices, sauces and condiments into separate baskets and threatened family with a fate worse than death if they dare to put stuff back in the wrong place!
This week bought a new PC so the old one to be taken to the tip. Also 2 more bags of charity stuff sent to the shop. The back bedroom is looking a lot less cluttered. But there is still all the paperwork to tackle
Grrr! I was really in the mood to have a big clear out and take it all to the car boot, but hubby would rather do it next week, its always next week. At this rate I will still have it all in a years time as there is no guarantee there will be a sunny weekend any time soon where I'm not committed to babysitting..
I'm with you @callyanna Decluttering in the kitchen started with one draw that led me in the second draw then diverted to the fridge sorted that washed all down inside, coffee break now before tackling the other
two draws and cutlery draw, not got rid of much from anywhere today but is looking quite sparse. :clover:
Well done ladies. I too have done the fridge when the groceries arrived (determined to make that a weekly event) I also cleared one kitchen cupboard shelf of unopened out of date grains. Bulgur wheat, quinoa and the like that I bought because I thought they would be good for me! I also use plastic baskets so they are all nice and tidy now.

Good Job Wendy. Have a badge! :victory:
I'm off to my shed again. I'm still clearing out all the scrap bits of wood that realistically aren't going to be used, so a friend can have them for her winter fire. My main problem here is that my bandsaw isn't working, it makes it so much easier to cut wood when you just slide it along the 'bed' and the bandsaw does all the hard work. Its either that or spend another half day listing on ebay. For some reason Ebay keeps on giving me 100's of free listings.
Well done girlies!
Thru careful clearing and rearranging of a cupboard, i now have space to put hoover away..it always just hung round the hall or in a corner,or just abandoned anywhere ..but its now got a cosy home! X :like:
This week I donated "party" clothes to a charity that helps women enter or re-enter the workplace. They raise money by selling women's clothing in their shop; they loan some of the clothes to women for interviews and first months at work.

These are the clothes that were rejected in December by our local resale shop as "out of style", "nobody wears these anymore" (blazers, jackets, turtlenecks!). My hairdresser heard this tale and said , "Oh,they're awful in there--young girls who just love telling you your stuff is no good!" Made me feel a lot better.

Haven't decluttered anything else lately--must get going!
Helped a lady do some decluttering today. She soon got the hang of it. In 3 hours 'chuck it' was the resounding cry. Another session is scheduled for tomorrow and we found lots of lost items and the room has a clear corner which had been scary mount of stuff. Clothes and shoes and outgrown fluffy toys. 4 large bags will be going to the op shop. All this came about by my saying I am decluttering.

Thanks to this thread as this was a declutter which was needed for someone who could not do it unassisted, I would never have dreamt to suggest, but was so I was pleased to be asked to help
Another 2 bags gone to a different charity shop. Now only 2 left. Waiting to donate to Great North Air Ambulance ...
Sold three items on ebay last week, from my decluttering efforts
One pair of sandals went for £ 24..
another pair went for £6 as did a top..Better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick!
Then i got two emails telling me how happy the buyers were with the goods!
However my happy story has a downside..en route to the Post Office to post these items i fell over and sprained my wrist Grrrrrr ! Tripping over my eyelashes!
I kept to my promise and decluttered the fridge before I put this weeks groceries in it! Had another declutter in my wardrobe.
