I don't know if this counts but I have cleaned and fumigated the new car. Some people are complete and utter pigs. I've found apple skins, rice krispies, stuck on chewing gum, moldy god knows what, what appears to be salt and at least a packet of crushed crisps rubbed into the carpet. I don't think the owners had ever brushed or hoovered it. There was even crud in the air vents. It must have been a very unhealthy environment for the family. Its taken 4 hours so far, with 2 of us working on the inside to get it acceptable, but the upholstery will need a shampoo and another hoover before I am satisfied.

The eldest also went over the outside with some of the t'cut scratch remover paste on all the scratches and I am seriously impressed by how well its worked.

So does that count as decluttering?

edit. Thats just reminded me I need to put a newish dressing gown on ebay. I only wore it for about 3 hours before realising that realistically its too heavy for summer and by the time winter comes I will drown in it.
@Wendy Darling you have a non fasting follower of the declut Tent!
My Beau decluttered a spare bedroom today and as a result we took five bags of stuff to the charity shop! But he would rather poke his eyes out than fast..despite me telling him of the health benefits. He certainly doesnt need it for losing weight..he wd drop down a grid if he went much thinner..can eat whatever he wants and doesnt gain..i despise him  x
Well done, you are all doing so well. Whoever thought that this could be fun? CM that's amazing. 5 bags from a non faster. Brilliant!

I might have a go at a kitchen cupboard tomorrow. I have loads of healthy grains that I will never use now that I am a low carb fan. They can all go and good riddance
I'm such a slob usually but you've all inspired me.
First job- I took all the little baskets out of two long shelves in the laundry, chucked out old meds, bit and bobs then put everything back with fresh labels such as ' band aids, mums medicine, shoe stuff, mild pain relief etc'. It looks great!
Today's job while making roast pork atop fennel and squashed potatoes and apple sauce ( obviously not fasting) I will clean out the pantry as thing are falling out when I open the door!
Thanks for your inspiration!
Xxx
Florence of Arabia- the free standing colourful press in the lobby is getting the treatment next...
On May 21st on this thread, I said I was going to declutter in a few weeks time when I had planned a window. Well today is that window!
I can already feel myself thinking 'but I might need/wear it again'... however some stuff HAS to go!
Writing this is not procrastination, it's a declaration of intent.
Well done @julianna lol @janeg pleased to see your in tent @annurca

How about timing our decluttering? I bet my cupboard won't take any longer than 10 minutes
I was going to take a LOT of stuff to the car boot today, but its raining. Things like two full sacks of cement, 3 full 5 litre tubs of green (don't ask) fence paint and clothing, so much clothing. But its rained, the field will be soggy, if its open and people won't go to a car boot when its wet. Now I have to unpack all the boxes and tubs and put everything back where I had it squirrelled.
Shame I'm not nearer Julie. I would love the green fence paint. The squirrels run along the top of our fences with their scratchy claws so my fences are always on the shabby side of chic. Very rustic
I had a nosey in your decluttering tent a while back and now I'm obsessed with my own ......clutter.
Under bed - sorted  Wardobe-sorted  Craft room -sorted  Garage FULL (of what on earth to do with this lot :?: ) Didn't realise I was such a hoarder........with our temperamental weather will need to find an indoor/undercover boot sale or divide clothing into seasonal as our charity shops only take in current seasons items (most of my clothes to go are winter :frown: ) Or maybe I could take it to the shop I pass enroute to mums which weighs and pays cash for clothes :sleepy: Or maybe just stick it all in the clothing recycle bin....BUT MOST IS STILL IN EXCELLENT CONDITION .....but too much too trawl through to stick and track on Ebay or the such like  How do I declutter my thoughts and make a decision ? Whats the easiest option :?: Any thoughts :dazed:
Can't help you with that one susbut65 Overthinking is how I ended up with so much to offload. Hope someone else can come along and give us some clues.
I saw this tent appear sometime ago and have AVOIDED popping in as my whole home needs a de-clutter. I'm normally quite good at this but this spring has been soooo busy this has not happened.

So my de-clutter party begins in earnest in July. One place that has not been de-cluttered ever is the loft - I know there are baby - kiddie things from 20 years ago. That will be a trip down memory lane.

Look forward to reading the thread at some point.
I took five bags of clothes to the Red Cross Shop yesterday. To be fair, two of them were children's clothes, discarded by my daughter on her last visit home, but the remaining three bags were mine. They contained at least ten pairs of size 16 M & S jeans, a couple of pairs of other size 16 trousers, four blouses and a couple of cardigans.

As I was handing them in, it occurred to me that these would probably have done someone else on the forum a good turn, as they travelled down through the sizes. Isn't it a shame that there is nowhere on the site where we could 're-home'our clothes to fellow fasters. Rather like e-bay but with items free of charge, with only postage to pay to the donor. However, I suppose people wouldn't be bothered because it is much easier to just take them to the local charity shop. It was just an idle thought!

Anyway, I have started to de-clutter and sort out clothes to take away on holiday, so it's very rewarding. I have discovered that two pairs of size 14 trousers, which I was planning to take away, are too big and need replacing! I'm usually a last minute packer, so I won't know what to do with myself next Saturday afternoon/evening because, at this rate, it will all be done! Perhaps I better go and try on evening dresses - hope they still fit!
@stowgateresident @julieathome started such a thread. I can't remember what it's called though.
@stowgateresident Here's the thread for passing on too big clothes: chat-f12/topic6368.html
