@zamale, @peonyblue, are you around? It's 4.30am and I'm not asleep. It was a fasting day yesterday and my walking habit is not happening, so here I am awake. Feeling anxious about various things, responsibilities and disfunctioning groups, you know the circular thoughts which visit in these hours! Time to get back to the walking tent!

Definitely need to get walking with you Sallyo, as I'm feeling exhausted and it could be a 'use or lose it' scenario. Hope you get to sleep soon honey x

Hey @Sallyo, believe it or not I had my "wide awake" experience at 1:30-3:30am instead, and had finally managed to drop off by the time you posted. However, I hadn't turned on the modem after getting home, so I couldn't check in here (too cold to get up). I had school and family and wedding organisation things circling in my head last night...I resorted to re-re-reading Jane Austen to distract me and get me off to sleep.

Popping my head in here to take a break from laying in bed listening to torrential rain beating down on the velux windows in our bedroom. Not that it is much quieter anywhere else in the house! It's been a fast day and so I was also battling gnawing hunger :starving: Have given in (well it is well past midnight here - 03:45) and had a couple of crackers. The cat is happy because he got an early breakfast

Back to bed in a mo to try and sleep. Hubby sleeps through anything so he's ok, which is all the more irritating when one is a light sleeper :curse:

HI You Northern Hemispherers, Is it still night time? I think not as I see some early Friday posts. I went back to bed and slept til 8.00, God Bless Holidays - and working part time -and today is going well. Over to the walking tent to report my walk. Nothing like insomnia for getting me out again.

Just popping in here for some inspiration! I often sleep badly after a fast day. I upped the bedtime snack last night and it did not work and seem to have lost nothing for fast day :(
Oh and was awake 3.30 to 6am after a brief sleep. Had a cup of camomile and that helped I think and resisted usual habit of toast/marmalade.

Overslept now so in big trouble!

Oh gosh a lot of activity here in the sleepless tent!
I havent had a wink of sleep and very little the night before,so i feel for you folks! Poor us
Have you tried magnesium citrate..it really helps, you have to take a biggish dose,3 massive tablets, but they do work - most of the time anyway.
I've just been watching the baby gulls practising spreading their wings on the roof opposite! So lovely! And i've sorted out a load of clothes - some for the charity shop, some for ebay. And i've had my brekky,so thats a third of my calories for the day gone, and it's only 5a.m.

Greetings Canicemarie... I think we are twins as notice you are a 5 ' 2 " and a bit also :)

Yes I do use magnesium but prob not the best variety. I take for bone health also. Not doing well with scales this past week .... seems static even up a bit despite two fasts. Yes prob eat too much on feast days. At least I find the fast days more managable now that some sort of routine but the poor sleep is disappointing end to a 'good' day.

Any of you insomniacs awake now? It's 4.46am uk time and I have been awake since 2.30am :frown:
I don't seem to struggle to sleep on fast days but feast days have my sleep pattern all over the place! Had spaghetti for dinner with red wine and then some cheese and it has. Sent my poor body into a digesting frenzy! I need to learn that I can't eat what I used to- or not all at once anyway.

Have moved myself into the spare bedroom as hubby getting disturbed by me and he has a big bike ride planned for today. Only 69 minutes before his alarm goes off and I have to drop him off at 7.30am!! :frown:
Any tips for a power hour of sleep??
